This hotel is convenient and close to everything. The room was clean (though old) and the staff was friendly. The breakfast area was clean and well stocked. The water was cloudy to fill the coffee pot. It was sufficient for the price.

Hotel is in a safe and convenient location in Albany. The rooms are clean and well kept. The only complaint I would say I had was the smell of cigarettes that I was welcomed to each time I entered the room. Lights are a bit dim and need to be changed. The bathroom and bed sheets, etc. were clean and house keeping took care of my room when I requested it. Overall decent place and a good value.

Great Value for business Travelers

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hampton Inn in Albany (Wold Rd). The room was clean and comfortable. Great for relaxing after a hard day.
My only complaint is the shower. Although chic very unpractical. The shower is open which allows water to run outside of the "alotted" space. I think some type if glass enclosure should be installed.

Very nice place for short-term stay. Front desk was friendly and caring. They had shuttle bus service for free, which saved me lots of trouble in a town without much public transit. Oh the restaurant was superb too!

Clean, convenient, accommodating weekend stay

We were visiting our son for parents weekend at college in Troy,NY, so the location of the hotel was just right in Albany near the airport. The drive to Troy was only 10 minutes. Our first room was comfortable and very clean, but very noisy--we were right beside the stairs on the second floor with a door that slammed shut loudly with any foot traffic, which started early with the breakfast crowd Sat. AM. However, we requested another room that morning and the staff was very polite and accommodating; the next room was perfect--almost identical to the first room, overlooking the lovely inner courtyard garden, and quiet !!! The indoor pool was clean, refreshing! Breakfast was delicious, well maintained, nutritious, and abundant. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and may return in the Spring for graduation.

It was a long wait for the Hotel room because they were checking people in old fashion style which was the paper and there was a large group and only one desk assistant but there was security and an elevator in the middle. The only complaint was the desk assistant kept answering the phone to talk to her friends instead of just being professional and putting them on hold! My rook was clean and nice. I inspected the room due to reviews I've heard but it was fantastic. Everythin was clean and moderately new. I just wish they had breakfast

this was a business/family visit trip..hotel is new and clean...nice location, rooms are cool and kind of oriental feeling, sliding opaque door for shower and toilet area...they are separate which is good and bad...upon getting in the room, it looked spotless until i looked at granite top around sink area, sink was clean however top looked dirty and when cleaned with towel it looked yellow, hope it was coffee, maid didn't do to good in leaving clean glasses each day...plus we were charged $4.00 for phone call when we left...we both have cell phones so rather puzzling also, we wanted to check back in after a detour to Philly...phone was never answered, after 4 tries called different hotel...overall nice rooms, but watch the help! p.s. their breakfast area is nice...had fresh fruit salad, waffle making, and nice selection of cereals and muffins.

I was just looking for a place to sleep and it accomplished that. Rooms were basic and clean, although pillows were yellowed. Fitness room consisted of a universal gym from several decades ago.

We were just passing through and stayed one night. We got a smoking room, but it smelled like someone just finished smoking in there.
The only real complaint I'd have would be about the bathroom. It was too small (only the shower and toilet were able to fit in the "room" part. The sink was outside.) and the water was SUPER WEAK! I had to shower twice as long to get all the soap and shampoo off.
Aside from that, the place was quiet and comfortable and was worth the price.

Overall, this hotel is wonderful! Courteous staff, nicely decorated and very clean rooms. Quiet. Breakfast was plentiful and nicely presented to the guests. Had a great stay at Homewood Suites!

We have booked some great hotels at the same price...this one was not as nice as the pictures...and was in need of some TLC. Our whole floor was supposed to be smoke free and it reeked of smoke. The pool was small and uninviting. Nothing great about this hotel at all. The staff was nice and helpful, but I am sure there is a better option for staying in Albany!

All I needed was a place to lay my head, be by myself and this was it. It was not a 5 star hotel by any means. It had what I wanted, clean bed, tv, clean towels, no bells and whistles.

I needed a place to stay traveling on Rt 87. It was a great price, but you get what you pay for. The bed was very clean and comfortable and the sink was clean. Other than that, the room needed replacements. A lot of the room was older. The area was fairly safe to stay. This is a good place to stay if you just need a good night's rest. Check in and out was fast.

I went to Albany for the Joyce Meyer Conference. The service from the hotel was excellent apart from blocked drainage on the first night but it was rectified very early the next morning. I had previously stayed in a red roof, near Hershey PA, a year ago (with poor service) so this was a relief.

A nice hotel. The location is superb. It is indeed across the road from the Albany Airport but airport noise was not an issue at all. Access was easy coming off of I-87. Simply head for the airport and if coming from I-87 continue past the main airport entrance. Check-in was quick and painless. Only issue there was that we were traveling with another father/son team and had asked to be located close to each other. We were in 614 and they were in 214. The pool was fine for the boys though the chlorine was very high. There are a number of good restaurants in the vicinity along Wolf Road. The room and the bed were very comfortable. Having a refrigerator and a microwave was super. The hotel provided a good enough toothbrush for my son and having microwave popcorn available in the "Pantry" was a great plus. Breakfast was a bit limited/pricy so we went to the nearby Denny's. The cost/options were not unreasonable it was just that for us Denny's was a better option. Overall I will stay here again when we are back in this area.

Practical not luxurious

I was first in a "motel type" room and it had an awful smell so I got changed to another room that was OK, then the hot water got broken so they moved me again but this time to the "big buliding" now this is a better quality room since its newer so everything is nicer but it's hard to justify the price. The gym is not nice at all but there is a nice breakfast.

We were fleeing Hurricane Irene and so we took our dog with us. My wife was 4 days from her due date, so making sure she was comfortable was of prime importance.
After looking at several hotels, we choose this one as it seemed the best value for the money and was 'pet friendly.' We booked a suite with a King bed.
Once we got there though, we were told that the owner does not allow pets in the building where the suites were! It was too late to book anywhere else (everything was filling up with people fleeing the storm).
The manager at the reception switched us into a regular room with Queen. The room wasn't much bigger than the bed though, so our dog didn't have much room to move around. We were not given any type of discount either for being moved to a smaller room. They did not charge us though for pet fee, so I guess that is something.
The manager was very helpful otherwise, directing us to the best hospital in the area in case my wife went into labor, giving us menus of places that delivered, etc. However, if they are going to restrict what rooms you can have pets in, that should be CLEARLY posted when you are booking.

The low price is the only thing that saved this hotel from a one star rating. If you can afford someplace better, do it.
Major problems: the toilet wasn't clean and the heater/AC unit didn't work.
