Hallways pretty depressing

I was happy to find a rather inexpensive hotel so close to the airport since I arrived late at night. The hotel looked good from the outside and the room was nice but the paint and the carpeting in the hallways were so run down and dirty that it made me a little nervous about the overall experience. The neighboring hotel seems to be under the same management because they had to get my room key from that property.

We attended Hot August Nights in Reno and stayed at the Baymont Inn & Suites.
Check in wasn't until 4p.m. but they were able to get our room ready by about 3p.m.
Our room was on the 1st floor but when I asked if we could get an upper floor room, I was told that they were booked which was understandable due to the weekends events in Reno. Our room was fine and looked like it was recently decorated.
The bathroom was very small. It was the size of an airplane bathroom with a tub.
Beds were comfortable and even though our room was considered an efficiency there wasn't a table and chairs to sit and eat.
Complimentary morning breakfast was very good.
Our only complaint about the hotel was that there were not enough parking spaces. We had to park on the street both nights and the hotel is not in a great area of town. Again, their reason was because of Hot August Nights. Parking spaces were very narrow and many trucks took up 2 spaces and some had trailers which took up spaces.
They gave us a paper to sign which stated that they would ask people to park trailers on the street and
would ask people who took up 2 spaces to move their vehicles to within the space. They did not follow their policy. Nothing was done about vehicles taking up 2 spaces.
We would not stay there again especially during Hot August Nights week.

Nice hotel. Rooms were nice and clean. They have a little gym (with a few cardio machines) and a small pool. I'd give it a 4 star rating.
Casino is a different story. It's small and dirty. The difference between the hotel and casino is like night and day. It would be a very nice hotel without the casino.
The only negative against the hotel is that it's away from the Virginia Street (but only a few minutes drive). There's a Carrows (or is it a Denny's) and a gas station around it. Other than them, there's nothing around.

I was in Reno for a 4 day seminar. My room was spacious, clean, and quiet. This particular room was under the stairs to the 2nd fllo, so it was incredibly dark, but since I was only there at night, it didn't matter much. I just wish there had been a light switch next to the door. Also, as is the case with most motels, the bed was too hard!

Having pre-paid only $35, I knew to expect an only-fair hotel. The Sands was perfectly fine for the price. The room was very large (but lacked comfortable chairs or couch, or a desk), the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom large and clean. The showerhead needs a replacement (was just old and didn't spray well; lacked power, too). One major problem, though: the doors to all guest rooms SLAM shut naturally; the springs must be tightly wound, because I kept hearing doors slamming shut all night - and it wasn't on purpose.

Nothing special, nothing bad. The staff, in my limited encounters were very good. Loved Reno, but would probably upgrade just a bit on the hotel. The room was comfortable, but not so much as a coffee pot in it. none of the extras I have been used to in my recent travels. Bed was comfortable and clean. The carpet was worn, some minor cosmetic damage. If you are alone, and not planning on spending much time in the room this would be a good deal.

I always choose the Atlantis when I book my flights to Reno. I find the rooms to be clean and the staff to be very helpful. I usually get a good rate there and the location is perfect - near the airport and not downtown! The beds aren't the most comfortable, but I need a firm mattress to sleep well.

Remodeled rooms are nice. I was most afraid of getting a smoky room in a smoky casino but the room was actually smoke free and the casino not too bad. Buffet was average, Atlantis Steakhouse is high class and great steaks. I would recommend Atlantis to friends/family.

We stay here several times a year, as it is close to our medical facility. It is nice to be able to relax and feel pampered.
The rooms are always perfectly cleaned, and the hotel staff are always smiling and friendly ready to help us get exactly the room we would like to have. The people in the VIP lounge are snobby and never let us have our pick of rooms so even though we could use the VIP lounge because of our player card status, we don't.
For a real treat, eat in the buffet, you will be amazed at the huge selection of absolutely gourmet deserts available, just be ready to wait to get some one to give you one, they mostly speak only mexican and sometimes very difficult to get across exactly what you want, but it is worth the effort. Sometimes you can not get their attention, so just go get a manager to get the help you need. The price for lunch is worth it, especially if you get a players card, and are 55 years or older, it is 2 for 1.
The slots have been extremeley tight, and we have pretty much quit playing the machines but we still stay for the complimentary slot tournaments.
If you want a really colorful, loud place to play, this is it.
The pools are absolutely the best, can't go wrong there.

My wife and I spent a night at the Siena because it was my birthday. We ate in DaVinci and Riverview. The food and atmosphere was clean and relaxing. Not all the tivoli lighting a lot of casino restaurants have in Reno. I was throughly impressed with the comfort and decor of the hotel room. It reminded me of the Soffitell in Redwood Shores. So non casino.

The hotel rooms were nice, especially in my area of the tower. However, room reading lights were very dim, and the entire room didn't have good lighting.
I traveled to Lake Tahoe while in the area and the drive was very pleasant and in close proximity to Reno. The trip and hotel were nice, but rather expensive, because I've stayed at Embassy Suites which offer more exclusive services and are not rated as 4-star.

Helpful desk until the late shift started. Reno is a 24 hour town. A friend tried to call me just after midnight at my room on the motel phone. All calls go through the desk staff. The person working the desk answered for the motel, and then refused to forward the call to the room in spite of being advised the the person in the room was expecting the call. Ruined our plans for the rest of the evening.

Our original room did not have any Airconditioning. They said they have not turned is on yet so there wasn't any. So, we got moved to another one. this one had air, but the blower was loud. And If we needed to warm it up a little, it took a long time for the heater to warm up. There was also no Sliding Door on our closet. The shower was only big enough for 1 person. The staff were helpful and pleasent especailly when we asked to be moved to another room with Airconditioning.

This location is very convenient to downtown Reno. It's too bad so many business are closed around it. This makes it feel a little less desirable than it is to stay here. Our room was renovated within the last 6 months. It was very clean and attractive. The furnishings are a bit dated if this is important to you. Keep in mind this is a vacation rental resort so the it does not have maid service or many of the services of a hotel. But, if a cheap and clean room is all you require, then this is a good choice. The only drawback for us was that the walls are thin. You can hear a lot of the activities taking place is surrounding rooms. Beware. Also, the there is a lot of renovation taking place. The exterior doesn't look inviting but don't let that put you off.

Impressive Rooms

I found a great last min. deal on a Tuscany Tower Florence Suite. From the front desk to the quality of the room, had a great stay. About the only bad thing was the quality of the food at one of their restaurants, Romanza. While the service was superb, both main courses were very bland-like a a step above a tv dinner.

I was so impressed with the Tuscany Tower at the Peppermill. I had no idea such luxury existed. I had the Florence Suite...650sq. ft, 3 flat panel TV's (incl. bathroom) and every modern comfort. I thought the casino and sports book were great, although very, very smokey. A great deal at a fabulous hotel. I'll be back.
