Decent budget-priced digs, with benefits

  • FrugalCheapThriftyGuy
  • Dec 27, 2012
Admittedly, I had very low expectations when I booked a room here. I was pleasantly surprised. The location is excellent, and the property is small enough that you don't get exhausted walking between your room and the casino or parking garage. The room was adequate, nothing more. It was cleaner than other similarly budget priced properties. The mattress was comfortable enough, despite that concavity that develops on the side everyone sleeps on. The room had a free internet connection, but you have to plug in. If you want WiFi, you have to pay. The TV is one of those old non flat screen models with a really inferior selection of channels. There was also a pod type coffee maker, but no coffee pods or cups or sugar/creamer packages. One nice touch: you get a couple complimentary small bottles of water each day. The casino is small, but quite nice. The property was running a promotion and I got a couple free steak dinners at the Mad Onion restaurant, which you would ordinarily pay about $6 for. For free, they were actually pretty good. For $6, they'd be marginal. Service in the restaurant was excellent, and fairly fast. I usually refuse to stay at a property with resort fees, especially when they are as high as these. But they had a super low $16 per night special, and when you factor in the free steak dinners, I think it was an OK deal.

Good Stay

  • zrtravel
  • Dec 27, 2012
The best thing about this place is the location, right next to Bellagio, under 5 min walk through contected walkway. No smoking, quiet. The bad: valet parking only (good and fast service, but would like the other option available as well), no room service (didn't receive room service on day one, realize unless you request one, you are not getting one). And other small things like no enough towels and lack of water pressure.

Great value during Christmas time!

  • Avid Traveler Shana
  • Dec 26, 2012
Booked Vdara for a great price during my stay Dec. 23 - 25. Staff at the hotel was friendly and accommodating. We had a really bad experience at a restaurant in Aria that is associated with Vdara because they are all MGM properties and when we went to complain, the front desk associate Kyle corrected the situation by comping us for the meal and also waiving our resort fees. One downside was that housekeeping took a while to get us extra sheets and blankets for the sofa sleeper, and another group in our party never got their extra bedding because the hotel ran out. Overall, stay was comfortable, rooms and bathrooms were nice, and staff really went above and beyond. We really liked the location and not having a casino in the building. We would go back and stay again.

When it comes to hotels I can always find something to complain about or be dissatisfied with. However, Palazzo has earned my business for the foreseeable future. This is my second stay and I'm going back in January. The staff, from taxi attendant to check-in/out desk, to house keeping to security, to dealers, etc are trained extremely well and are very courteous and attentive.

Great Value

  • Dec 24, 2012
This was our second stay, and we like it because the rooms are quite large. The beds are comfortable. It is quiet, (just off the strip). The food in the cafe is very reasonably priced and tasty. Our only complaint is the internet which you pay for in the resort fee, does not include internet in your room, only in the public areas. They don't tell you that specifically.

I always stay at the Orleans because it is convenient to my family whom I visit every year. Much less traffic because it's off the Strip. Very friendly staff and casual restaurants, as well as fancy ones with excellent food and value. I am amazed at how inexpensively I can stay here! Great casino where I can play tables for $5 minimum or poker slots for as little as a nickel. Love the atmosphere here too. I will return.

Gym was nice but the additional charge to use it (unless you wanted ONLY cardiovascular exercise) is not something that I expect frrom a hotel of this calibur. One drain in the larger bathroom did not functiona well. The television in the living area did not work at all. That said, the layout was beautiful and roomy.

One of the best hotel I have ever stay in US. The room is perfect and the service is considerate in every details. You almost do not need to bring any accessories. Tooth brushes, robes, slippers, weight scale, even a shaver! Very spacious, very comfort bed, and more. The only bad thing is that one night our neighbor keep partying in their own room (I guess 10 people or so) for hours. Called front desk. Did not happen the next day. Overall this was a wonderful experience!

Our choice turned out perfect. The Signature was close to action but when we returned to our room it was pure luxury. We wanted more than just a bed to sleep in. A nice Jacuzzi was used several times, relaxing after walking so much. We made use of the kitchen and dining table. What a view from the 29th floor. The bed was so comfortable and the hallways were quiet. We are non smokers so we appreciated the non smoking environment. We will stay here again.

The beds needs to be changed once in a while, they are not really what you expect for a 4-Stars Hotel, unconfortable. The parking lot is not enough for Hotel guests and Hotel personnel and the valets have all the upper level just for them. First time and for sure last time at the Tropicana. Maintenance in the rooms must be done more frequently.

Everything was really nice. Clean room, nice staff. Found the food to be on the expensive side. Everything is tied to the "Club Card". Only down side was the service in the Coronado Cafe. Waited 20 minutes and no one ever came over to serve me so I walked out and went to another restaurant on the strip for breakfast (Pepper Mint Lounge).

The resort name and planned design were also inspired by the age of Parisian Art Deco which some say reached its height of popularity in 1936. From the outside in Club 36s fun and funky colors and style reflect the functional lavish and ultra modern design of the Art Deco era. Club 36 is the perfect retreat from the non-stop action of the Strip. Guests can relax by the covered pool and sunbathe on the outdoor deck or dine at four casual on-site restaurants. Plus Bluegreen guests can enjoy the peace and privacy of a 1- or 2-bedroom suite with many of the conveniences of home and elegant Parisian Art Deco decor. Guests who need to work off some of those calories consumed at one of the world-class buffets in town can work out in the fitness room before heading out for the day. With all there is to see and do in and around Vegas one of our concierges can set up a game plan for guests based on their interests. Plus Club 36 is conveniently surrounded by a retail center filled with popular restaurants and video gambling as well as a liquor store and more. Everything guests need for a perfect Vegas vacation is within their reach at Club 36. Please note that minimum age for check in at this property is 21 years of age.

My family and I traveled to Las Vegas in July, 2012 and had the pleasure of staying at BlueGreen Club 36. Our 1 bedroom was spacious and clean. My girls loved it! The staff was friendly and accomodating. Location was good, right off the strip, I would recommend anyone to stay here.

Resort isn't too far away from strip but too far to walk, took the shuttle that is provided up until 8pm on the weekends and then took a $10 taxi ride back. Room was perfect, it was like a little apartment and had two showers which was a plus. Staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. I will definitely be booking here again for my next Vegas trip.

Great location and real fun casino, but the rest of the hotel not nearly as nice as the others on the strip. It works for me though.

Fun, great locale, but not the best!

Compared to other strip hotels it is kind of a dump, but great location and certainly fun. Just kind of a hassle getting to the room and no balcony or views etc.

I stayed here during my first trip to Vegas and I loved it! It was very quiet and the staff was very helpful. It does require you to walk a short distance.

Nice, smoke-free location with easy access to room from lobby. No walking through an endless casino to get to your room. However, it is off the strip. Be prepared to walk a little to get to and from venues.

Great Location in middle of Strip

  • barking16
  • Mar 21, 2012
Although an older property, location next to Bellagio and City Center can't be beat! Paris and fountains right from our window. They have a web cam from the room showing the fountains also! Although under construction in entry way, staff and service was top notch. Had a two bedroom unit. Very quiet. Right on the strip. Furnishings such as carpet need updating but for a few nights, it was great if you want to be right by the action. They have activities plus grocery tours if you need. Nice to have a kitchen and extra space than a standard hotel room.

Great Location!

  • VegasVacation22
  • Feb 22, 2012
We stayed at the Jockey Club over President's Day weekend. The location of the Jockey Club was tremendous - directly between the Cosmopolitan and the Bellagio. To be able to walk out the hotel doors and be directly on the strip was a great accommodation for us. The room was average in decor and we could tell that the fixtures had not been updated for quite some time. Everything was clean and we fit 4 adults into the standard room very easily. Overall, a great stay if you plan to stay on the strip for your vacation!

Great Place with Too Early of a check out time

  • Joe Jack
  • Dec 17, 2012
The location is just off the strip and is an easy walk to all of the action. The only negative is the 10 AM check out time with a stiff penalty for those that don't make it. They did hold our bags so we could hit the brunch and come back for our car. Staff was helpful and a convenience store is close.

Nothing to complain. The room/suite was big, clean and confortable. The best thing is the location next to MGM Grand, New York, Ney York and Bellagio.
