The bed was comfortable, but the room missed some furniture: no table, no chair, no chest of drawers, no fridge, and not many hangers. All in all, the place was ok to get a good night of sleep, but not to feel a bit settled down to stay a few days.

For the price, a good deal. Lots of little things wrong, and one big one: air conditioner not adequate. Free wifi pretty weak. We did a last minute booking for SEMA and this hotel not only has rooms available but they were cheap! It's in a less than ideal area and looks kinda funky, but the rooms are fine. Beds were pretty good, bathroom was clean. Staff was friendly.
If you're looking for a cheap hotel outside the craziness of the strip, this is a good place to stay.

We're proud to be Las Vegas' most historic hotel and casino. Established in 1906, our family-owned boutique hotel-casino offers a friendly, intimate atmosphere that's reminiscent of classic times long forgotten by corporate mega-resorts. All guest rooms have been recently renovated and in 2008 we were named the "Best Downtown Hotel" by the Las Vegas Review Journal.
We're located at One Fremont Street where you can simply step outside our door into the excitement of the Fremont Street Experience - Las Vegas' most dynamic street scene crowned with a 10-story, 4-block long dazzling overhead light show and bustling with street performers, special events and free concerts.
Then there's our shrimp cocktail. It's the original that started a Las Vegas tradition nearly 50 years ago - and it's still named "Best of Las Vegas" year after year!
We offer charming, newly renovated rooms, a full-service casino and delicious food in Downtown Las Vegas' most historic and welcoming environment. If you've ever wondered what Las Vegas was like in the Roaring 20s or the Rat Pack era, then experience the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino - where Las Vegas started and the Fremont Street Experience begins!

Excellent value for enjoying downtown Las Vegas. Bed was small and kind of wore out, but when I went to bed it did not matter. Had valet parking only which is ok if you want to ride the bus or just walk every where. I prefer to drive so parked my car at another motel. If you want to sleep before midnight it could be a little loud, but that was not an issue with me. Over all the room served it's purpose.

1st time staying in Fremont area hotel. A bit skeptical on any, due to the reviews. After a Friday night, on a holiday weekend, we were not disappointed. Parking attendant was obnoxious and was difficult to find parking, despite having room reservations. Check in was easy, room was clean and comfortable. Within walking distance to Fremont St. Despite reviews, did not heard concerts and trains all night. Would def stay again.

We like the quaint personality of the hotel that is why we always go to the Main Street Station. Also, not many people with their nose too high in the air and make you feel outcasted. The hotel and the people there make you feel comfortable and ARE very friendly. Will be back there soon, and who knows, maybe for my 40th High School anniversary.

This casino/hotel is located right off the freeway and a block off Freemont Street, a very good location for a short stop. There was moderate traffic noise, but not so much as to be unbearable. The parking lot is motorcycle unfriendly with lots of off camber turns.

The room was very clean and nice. Friendly staff. The only draw back is there is no self parking Valet only. Other than that it was an all around great experience.

I booked a room here last minute for the holidays.I always stay on the strip and this was my first time in downtown. I wasn't expecting much to be honest, but I left very happy with my stay. The rooms were small but everything seemed to have been remodeled and clean, and the staff was very friendly. I will most definitely be staying here again when I plan to stay in downtown Vegas.
