for the one night we stayed, the motel was quiet, clean and the personnel was very accommodating. It was perfect to get a good sleep and be refreshed to hit the road early the next day.

We went for a family reunion. Most of the family stayed at La Quinta. It was fairly clean. The ice machines and coke machines were out of order. The breakfast wasn't that good we ended up eating at Mc Donald's. They did have good cookies if you were lucky enough to get one. We got booked into a handicapped room and tried to get another room but couldn't. The staff was friendly just not accommodating.

Elevator was broken. Had to carry luggage up to third floor. Very noisy air conditioning unit. Turned it off and opened the window. Expected that, due to the elevator issue, that we might have been given a special rate, but that didn't happen.

Great place to stop on I-40

Staff was friendly. Our suite was great and we liked the flat screen TV's in both the living area and the bedroom. Our son loved the indoor pool area. Convenient to local restaurants. We dined at the Pizza Hut just a block away. I wish the breakfast would have opened at 6 am instead of 6:30. Being located on I40, I would think most folks tend to get an early start on the travel day.

Don't Stay in Tucumcari!

We stayed twice here. Once going to our destination and the other on our way back. The return stay didn't have what we experienced on the first. No fridge or microwave in room. Hallways smell of cigarette smoke and clerk was not very personable. I had to go to the Cicle K in town...the local riff-raff were all there...scary!

We had about given up on Tucumcari although we like it as our first stop after leaving Phoenix, but at last we have found a great motel. A pleasant, quiet room with good beds and wonderful thick towels. Plus a good breakfast. Our only advice - skip the steak house next door. KFC or McDonald's would be better.

Blood on the wall, Mucus on the curtains, old toothpaste on shower curtain, ripped chair, broken heating unit with cover hanging off on the floor, sink plugged up, a filthy disgusting hotel and I will never stay here again or recommend this chain. We arrived at 8:30 pm, went in to complain at 6:30 the next morning and the desk clerk stated since we booked the hotel through [...], he could not refund our money or give us any discount. This was by far the wors hotel I've ever stayed in.

Overall enjoyed our stay here. Hot breakfast, made to order, was a nice plus. Used the pool, though it could have used a cleaning. Surprising quiet considering how many other guests we saw there.

It's a Motel 6, OK? I have not stayed at one of these in over a year, but I was told by a client that it was refurbished and a good stay. It had been refurbished maybe a year ago or so. It was a typical Motel 6 in that the carpets are dirty and the best rooms are not on the first floor. The room and bath were clean and as usual, no extras. The bed was lumpy and I woke with a back ache. What can I say? It's an average Motel 6.

Not worth the money

I just needed a room as a stop on my trip. Nothing special but this hotel was in very bad shape. The room was dirty and full of flies. Do not stay at this hotel.

We expected that since this was a National Brand Hotel (Travel lodge) it would have at least a minimum standard, but we found about 15 to 20 dead, dying flies on the floor & counters & window sill in the bathroom.
Other (minor) problems were faulty plumbing, (Toilet had constant water running, & shower would vary temp drastically, from very hot to cool) & general maintenance issues, like frayed carpet at the door to bathroom, & peeling wallpaper.
The flip-over lock for the front door, that would allow the door to open a crack, to allow conversation with someone outside was broken... Like someone had kicked the door in at some point!
While it was a cheap place to stay, the wife was not pleased. But, at 10:30 at night, we were too tired to hunt around for another hotel.
