The location is very close to the square and within walking distance of wonderful restaurants, shops, museums. The staff are fabulous - very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a little quirkish in layout, but fresh and new bathrooms, furnishings, etc. Coffee and ice cream shop in the same building provides a good start on the day.

The hotel is located way out Cerrillos Road a long way from the historic areas of SantaFe such as the plaza or galleries on Canyon Road.
The hotel is well designed and the rooms are very nicely furnished with comfortable beds.
Since Best Western spent so much effort on the hotel environment, I was puzzled by the lack of hot water in the shower/bath tub. No hot water either morning we were there. I don't like cold showers!

Being only a block from the main square, the location is excellent. The bed was very nice and comfortable and rivaled some of the beds of the higher end luxury chains. The bathroom was rather worn and dated looking, though. Breakfast at the restaurant was very good. The charge for parking, even during the off-season, was disappointing and tacky.

Perfect location, couldn't be any any better. Rooms are small but clean with limited amenities. Bed's were very comfortable. Hotel itself is very nice and beautiful. Room was hot for the winter time. The thermostat didn't seem to work. You could open the windows but could hear the noise of delivery trucks, etc throughout the night. Great hotel if you are planning to spend most of your time out in the wonderful downtown area. Not so good if you are planning to spend the majority of your time in the room.

This is a great hotel. Newly rennovated. Excellent location. Yes, rooms are small (like European ones), but keep in mind this building is old. Besides what do you need a big room for, aren't you in Santa Fe to have fun? If you have a big family and small children, this might not be a good bet for you. Lovely lobby. Restaurant has great food. If you want cheap in Santa Fe, you should eat at McDonalds. Otherwise, take a chance and eat breakfast or dinner here. Staff friendly and helpful.

Wonderful Birthday Getaway
-
Santa Fe Feels Like Home
- Dec 9, 2011
Four of us traveled from PA to the Inn and Spa at Loretto to celebrate my wife's birthday. Our rooms were clean, comfortable, and decorated nicely. Each had a balcony allowing us to look out on the Christmas Luminarias (which are really "farolitos") that light the walk ways and roof tops at Christmas. A cozy fireplace in the lounge was very much appreciated as evening temperatures dipped to minus 8, unusually chilly for the area. The Inn's Luminaria restaurant staff could not have been better. They included a birthday candle on the blue corn pancakes and were attenttive without being overbearing. We've stayed at three hotels in Santa Fe over the years and this is now our favorite.

We arrived 3 hours before check in. They gave us a room early. The location of the room wasn't acceptable to us. They allowed us to use the room until another room was ready (about 4 hours later). We spent the day at the pool. [...]at the pool does it all. We sat down and were immediately served lemon ice water, which she promptly filled throughout our time at the pool. She claims no one gets head stroke on her watch, and I don't doubt it. She served snacks and drinks with great efficiency and always with a smile. When we did check in our new room they had cocktails waiting for us for the inconvenience, which really was not an inconvenience at all. The hotel provides free shuttle service that friendly and readily available. The hotel is within a easy walk to shops and restaurants. The hotel has a nice lounge and restaurant too. The hotel grounds were well maintained and amenities were well marked. Enjoyed a hot rock and rolling thunder massage at the hotel spa. The hotel is tranquil and nice for a get away from the kids. We would visit Santa Fe again and definitely stay at La Posada!

We used La Posada for relaxation, exercise, and as a base for touring local museums and the surrounding area. The room was quiet, well-appointed (two comfortable reading chairs plus a desk), and well-lighted. Services were outstanding, especially the valet parking and shuttle van crew and the concierge. Food was excellent, but service in dining room was slow even when not busy.

Rendez-vous spot for a mini reunion

Second time I've stayed here. Lovely location; quiet, the only traffic is to hotel, feels very private, no road noise, next to beautiful arroyo with great view of the mtns. from our window. Very easy to access major roads into town. Breakfast is a bit wanting; not enough seating to accommodate visitors. The room really needs better lighting; 2 lights in kitchenette but not one to read comfortably at the sofa and the lamp by bed had a dark shade that made it hard to read by as well.

A Nice Find When You Find It

This is a really terrific place to stay with super good curb appeal and very well appointed rooms. The value was very good.
After I left however I noted that the clerk did not give me a receipt for my stay. I asked him/her if there was anything they needed from me as I handed them my room key (card) and told them I was checking out. I was in the "travel" mode and forgot to ask for a receipt.
Also I would say that a really big drawback to this place is its location. I came from the South and was not at all familiar with Santa Fe. This place is located way up in the North end of the city and it is also tucked away in back of a shopping center. Definitely is Not easy to find. I called the clerk a couple of times and she "talked me in" on my way to find it. I drove for "miles" through the city to get to this place and must have gone by "500" (seems like) hotels as I was searching for this place.
So I drove a lot of unfamiliar miles to save a couple bucks but all in all it was a great stay and a very good value.

The Villas de Santa Fe: Even Better Than Expected!
-
TravelDiva
- Nov 28, 2011
Having read online reviews, I was bracing myself, somewhat, so I'm pleased to report that I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the Villas de Santa Fe actually was! It's really not a hotel, at all; it's a condo development just blocks from the Plaza, that offers newly-renovated one and two bedroom units that are nicely-appointed at rates far lower than the average downtown Santa Fe hotel.
Our one bedroom unit had two full size beds, a queen-size sofa bed, two large flat screen televisions, Cuisinart appliances, high quality bed linens (and plenty of fresh pillows!), a hair dryer, iron, dishes and flatware, and a balcony. (We would gladly have stayed there more than four days, had we needed to!) There was a working elevator, and the entire property was clean and well-maintained.
The hospitality center has two computers for guest use, and a workout room; there is also a pool and hot tub on site, and plenty of free parking.
The best part is that this property is located in a safe neighborhood literally 4 blocks from the center of town, so it was in easy walking distance of all the major tourist attractions for me and my children. (We didn't even make use of the free shuttle.) The staff is friendly and efficient, and we will absolutely book there again the next time we're in Santa Fe!

The hotel is located at the very center of Santa Fe, in a walking distance from a multitude of shops and restaurants. In fact, there is a gallery of art and souvenir shops inside the hotel itself. The parking garage is very convenient (just beware that parking is $12 extra per day).
The only problem with the room was that it was located next to the elevators, which meant that there was a lot of foot traffic next to our door and we could hear people talking early in the morning, and that woke us up.

Okay I have to say that one of the reasons I love staying at the Sage Inn, which I do once a year at the end of March here in Santa Fe, NM, is that Whole Foods is right next door, and there is a kicking coffee shop --- Sage Bakery, just a couple of blocks walk towards the plaza. So while you may want to go out eating Mexican food every night at what may be a hit or miss experience, Whole Foods always provides!
You have to walk in Santa Fe, and the Sage Inn is close enough to the plaza to be very walkable, and far enough off the plaza to be affordable. Staff are friendly, the pool is heated, and parking is free. Breakfast is adequate.

Good, clean hotel close in town. Older but well updated. They updated everything but the room size which is small and that they can't change. Free breakfast was good and the dining room and lobby were very nice. Real art on the walls in the lobby and in the rooms. They offer a ton of freebies and a great price to try and overcome the fact that it is a 60s-70s era hotel.

The room was 64 degrees with the furnace off when we arrived at 7:30 pm. It took until 10:30 pm until we got warm. Otherwise, the suite (really a single floor condo) was comfortable and extremely roomy with plenty of furniture. The TVs are very old, tube, with no cable. The beds were comfortable and the supplies, toiletries, towels, etc., were adequate. We enjoyed the roomy condo very much due to it's proximity near downtown, except for the very cold start.

We really had a hard time finding this place since we hadn't realized it isn't really a hotel, but condos. Once you get there, you have to schlep your bags up or down some stairs to get to most rooms. It was worth it, though. The suite was charming and we had a view over the city and mountains. It was amazingly clean. The staff was very helpful as well.

I enjoyed my stay at Inn on the Paseo. I am basing my review on the off-season price that I payed for a deluxe King room with fireplace. I feel like it was a good deal for the off-season price.
My room was large and the gas fireplace really heated the room well and was a nice feature. The bed was very comfortable with a nice blanket. The room had original artwork which was a nice touch. There was good lighting in the room from bedside lights, overhead lights, and windows. I was able to store my luggage in the closet. My room faced the back and was very quiet. I liked having an outside entrance to the room with a little outdoor seating area.
The breakfast was okay. There was fresh fruit, cottage cheese, bagels, toast, hard boiled eggs, and muffins. The croissants and cookies looked and tasted like the Pillsbury ones. There weren't any waffles, but it was a satisfying breakfast. The coffee and teas were good too.
I had a restful stay and enjoyed the location's closeness to Canyon Rd. and the plaza. I would stay there again.

Room not as large or otherwise nice as I expected for the very high price. Parking charge exorbitant. Swimming pool tiny. Exercise room small. Restaurant food good, and reasonably priced. Consistently excellent service from everyone. 5-minute walk from the plaza is nice; but for a 10-minute walk, we could have stayed in a very nice place for at least $100 a night less.

Very nice hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The spa was fantastic! Food served at the hotel was above average and we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience as well as room service. The only thing lacking was atmosphere. The lobby area was not as cozy and charming as many of the other hotels in Santa Fe. Fireplaces were never burning other than the one in the dining room in the evening. The hotel was rather chilly in the lobby and it would have been nice to be welcomed by a warm fire. FYI:you could have hung meat in the elevators.

The virtual tour of the inside lobby of this hotel got my attention; the reality of it realized and I was pleased. The agents at the desk were helpful and friendly. The 24 Hr coffee was a plus! I'll go back to that Hotel any time.

This hotel was very quiet although the bedding was not very comfortable. They advertise King beds although they do not have them in any of the rooms. The breakfast was nice. They do not have any task lighting, it is all overhead so there is not a comfortable way to watch TV or read in the evening. The bathroom is small with only a shower. The pool and hot tub are small but the fireplace in the evenings is nice. This hotel is not close to the Plaza and requires around a 15 minute drive because of traffic.

While the staff was friendly, the fitness center was a huge disappointment. Unairconditioned, less than adequate space and equipment. The equipment they did have was non-working or significantly wornout. The rooms were not well maintained. The staff was friendly and the beds were comfortable. The a/c worked and the breakfast was bearable.

Buffalo Thunder is a great resort-casino-hotel! Order your spa treatment early because they fill up fast and it's well worth the money! We were treated like we were old friends by the entire staff. We were on a ski trip, and this place is about as close to Ski Santa Fe as any other location in town, and it costs less for very nice rooms! Walls were a bit thin is my only complaint.

Nice to have all that room, no noise in the hallway, the friendly, most helpful staff. This was a suite room, one could opt for daily maid and linen service for an additional fee. I was happy not to be disturbed and made my own bed. Location was close to center, and no congested lobby.

It was very nice, quiet and not too far from the square.
Would have been nice if they waited to work on the pool on another weekend other than the Santa Fe Chili and Wine Festival. Not much in the way of amenities. Room was clean though fans in bathroom and air conditioning were very loud. Great price for Santa Fe.

Our stay at the Anasazi in Santa Fe was perfect. From the time we drove up to the front door until we left for the airport everything was perfect. The staff was most helpful, from securing dinner reservations to planning our sightseeing trip. We are already talking about going back, and it will be more sooner than later.

Service was excellent in all respects-- everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. The one disappointment was that we were put in a room for handicapped people, which meant that the bathroom was not standard. The room was small and the ceiling was low but that may be normal for this price. There was a very nice gas-burning fireplace in the room.
