Gallup Confusion!

We booked the hotel thru Orbitz about 10 minutes before we arrived at the hotel. The operator I spoke with was not American; I had the most difficult time understanding her & getting her to understand me! When it was over, she gave me one confirmation number only. When I presented my confirmation to the hotel, they were unable to recognize it. After traveling to another Days Inn to check the same confirmation number, approx. 30 minutes, and 3 or 4 operators later, I learned that the original operator FAILED to provide me with the confirmation number for MY HOTEL, and she DID NOT tell us that confirmations are 24 hours in advance. I told her that we were 10 minutes away from the hotel! WHAT A TOTAL NIGHTMARE! And then the room was horrible, but we were so stressed out & tired, we stayed there anyway!

Staff was nice, room was adequate, but the "OOPS" is because there apparently was a booking error between Orbitz and Day's Inn. We had to take a "smoking room" when I specifically requested a NON-smoking room. Because of the Navajo Nation Fair in Window Rock, they had NO NON-smoking rooms to give us. We had to take the room because EVERY other motel was also booked solid. The staff was as nice as they could be explaining the error, we were as understanding as we could be, under the circumstances, and other than our clothes smelling of smoke when we left, it was an "OK" experience

After 12 hours of driving and arriving at 2am in the morning I was greeted warmly at the front desk. The first room I was given had a problem with the window... it wouldn't close or lock. I promptly returned to the desk and was given another assignment without hesitation. The continental breakfast the next morning was a step above what I was expecting. I would definitely stay at this location again... thank you LQ!

The walls and doors had not been cleaned in years. Broken bathroom sink which would not produce warm water. Less than 100 yards from the train tracks which parallel I 40, UGH!! I chose this hotel because I had some business in that part of town. I wish I would have driven the 250 miles per day and stayed home instead of paying anything for a place like that. I will NEVER stay there again.

The room was clean, and certainly large enough. The walls were thin, so that we heard all of the people, including children, going in and out of the lobby. The fitness area was really inadequate. Also - it was very disconcerting that the hotel seemed to have a different credit card holding my reservation than I used online.

I booked online asking for a non-smoking room. As we proceeded to our room with luggage in hand, the hallway smelled of smoke. As I opened the door, the room also smelled heavily of smoke. I've stayed at many hotels that have both smoking and non-smoking rooms and there is always a stinch of smoke in the air. I've had luck by turning on the AC to help circulate and remove the odor,so this is what we decided to do. We came back from eating dinner, and the room still smelled like an ash tray. We decided to check out of the hotel because I didn't want to smell smoke for the rest of my vacation. I was informed because it had been over an hour I wouldn't be able to get a refund back. Furthermore, I was informed the room I was given was actually a smoking room but the sign on the door that read non-smoking hadn't been removed yet. I asked for the 800 number to the hotels corporate customer service. The staff told me she wouldn't be able to give me the number. I than asked for her name as she was wearing a badge with her name on it. She covered the badge with her arm and told me she wouldn't be able to give me her name. I asked for the manager and was informed the manager was not on duty. I was told the manager would call me on my cell phone the following day. I'm still waiting for the call.

We stayed at Hotel 6 to participate in the Inter-tribal Ceremonial activities. The parade was fantastic as we enjoy learning about other cultures. The performances, held at the Red Rock State Park, were a wash out with several rain storms in the area. The room was nothing fancy, but it was clean and the bed comfortable; cheap and fine. We'll try again next year for the ceremony.

The hotel itself and my room was in pretty rough shape, and there was no iron in the room, and there were no additional outlets to plug my laptop into.
The parking situation was pretty sketchy-I had to park my car out back behind the hotel which made me uneasy because the parking lot was very secluded and it looked pretty shady.
Also, after coming out of the bathroom, I found this woman (I think she was a maid but she really wasn't dressed like one) looking under my bed. She mumbled some excuse that she thought the room was unoccupied and left quickly. It was really bizarre especially since it was early evening and the maid service had been through long before I got there.
Finally, the walls of the room were taco shell thin. People staying in the room next door were incredibly loud up until 2am. I could hear their TV blaring all evening long. Normally I wouldn't care so much but I was on a bussiness trip and had to be up really early-so because of this I didn't get a good night sleep.
Despite the fact that my room was non smoking, the people's room next door obviously was. All night long and into the morning the hallway and my room reeked of smoke.
I would not reccommend this hotel to anyone.

I had never stayed in a Comfort Suites, and if Comfort Suites Gallup is an indication of the chain, I will choose it again! The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom spanking clean, and the front desk staff very helpful.

Room was comfortable...TV, air conditioner, shower, toilet all worked. Got a 10% discount voucher for the Olympic Cafe, just down the street. Pretty good dinner. Continental breakfast was not good. Small selection and no orange juice.

Prices on onsite signs were below online prices, at many hotels. Paid $55 for a room I could have gotten for $39, by walking in. On positive side, was not near the multiple train tracks.

This was simply an overnight stay before returning home. The inn was very clean but was right across from the r/r tracks and trains ran most of the night and sounded their horns as they were passing. Other than that, it was okay. Not in the best part of town.

The facility was run down and in need of repairs. Pools was out of order. Breakfast consisted on toast, waffles and cereal.
The hotel actually ran out of toilet paper while we were there!
What a rotten place to stay!

Description
The Ramada Limited Gallup is a smoke-free facility and is located at the edge of the Navajo Nation providing lodging services for travelers exploring Western New Mexico and Eastern Arizona. Our hotel is very near the Navajo Capital of Window Rock, Arizona and serve as a gateway for travel to such well-known attractions as Canyon de Chelly, Chaco Culture Historic Park, Pueblo of Zuni, and El Morro National Monument.
The Ramada is located very conveniently at Exit 20 of Interstate 40, the primary East-West route that connects Arizona and New Mexico. We are also just off US Highway 491, which connects Gallup with the Navajo Nation. Daily complimentary shuttle to and from Fire Rock Casino is available from 11 AM until 1 AM. In the immediate vicinity of the hotel are a number of restaurants, with the Cracker Barrel sharing our parking lot. Applebee's is just two blocks, as is Furr's Cafeteria and Golden Corral. McDonald's, Denny's, Wendy's and many more are just a few steps further away. For those family needs that occur at any hour of day or night, we are also very near a Walmart Supercenter that is open 24 hours.
The Ramada is a nicely-appointed three story hotel with indoor heated pool and spa, elevator service, free continental breakfast, meeting facilities and guest laundry. Every room includes some new features in 2010, including a refrigerator and microwave in every room! We also feature free high speed internet access, cable TV with HBO, CNN, and many more channels as well as a coffeemaker, hairdryer, iron and ironing board to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Wheelchair access rooms are also available. We have plenty of free parking for cars, trucks, RVs, and buses and are very pleased to host tour groups of all types from every corner of the planet. Sorry but pets are not allowed.

Located in the downtown/business area in the heart of Gallup. Cracker Barrel and Applebee's within easy walking distance. Gallup is centrally located to some of the most beautiful attractions available - the Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, Canyon De Chelly, Shiprock only to mention a few. We offer a fantastic free Deluxe Continental Breakfast and our indoor pool/hot tub and dry sauna are just the thing for relaxing. Gallup offers many local and national coffee shops, lounges and a long list of fabulous restaurants featuring fares such as Italian, Mexican, Greek, Chinese etc. Plenty of hiking/biking/horseback riding trails nearby in Gallup and Red Rock State Park. Pet Accommodations: 15.00 USD per stay per pet. Pet Limit: 2 pets per room. Credit Card required for pet stay.

The Quality Inn in Gallup is very over priced. Other than the price, the hotel was neither good or bad.

We had a football tournament, they were not prepared! No hot water! Not enough food for the free breakfast! I asked for a non-smoking room and got smoking...for the amount I had to pay, I was very diasappointed! And traveling with children, the most important thing was pool was broke!
