It Worked; Nothing Special

Out of Town Wedding Goer
- May 16, 2012
I found this accommodation as part of a flight booking deal and chose it for its location in relation to a wedding reception I was in town for and the fact that every room comes with a kitchenette, which helped me save on food. I had a second floor walk-up (no elevator) with a door to the outdoors (which is fine, because it is New Mexico, but a little weird since your big picture window provides a view into your room for anyone walking by in the outdoor hallway). Room was fine--nothing special, but fairly clean. Bed not as nice as at home, but fine. Full size fridge. Two of everything in terms of utensils and you wash it all yourself in the sink. Iron and board was in the room. Unfortunately, no television guide or coffee filters, but if you want free coffee, you walk your mug down to the reception desk, which might be in a different building (don't spill!). Desk people knowledgeable about area, so don't hesitate to ask about anything. Overall, cannot complain!

Inexpensive home base

- May 9, 2012
We spent a week in New Mexico and used this motel as a home base for the entire week. The rent was so inexpensive that we did not mind staying at other places if we were gone for a long time. The room is very basic but does have large fridge, a microwave and stove. There are only enough plates and utensils for two. Nothing fancy but well worth the price.

Loved the Native American motif
-
Route 66 road tripper
- May 19, 2012
Room was as represented online with lovely Native American touches in massive lobby & in rooms. I was told when I made my reservations 1 mo. in advance that I'd have to have a ground floor room as I had a pet. I was given a top 5th floor room on arrival with a lovely mountain view & balcony which is what I wanted in the 1st place. Since it was Cino De Mayo the 1st night of my stay at the hotel, it was packed with LOUD, rowdy, drunken clientele covering the lobby, hanging off balconies hootin' & hollerin' and with lots of children monopolizing pool & spa area & running through the halls in their wet suits leaving large water puddles everywhere including the elevator. This was all going on between 8-9pm as I was checking in. Luckily my room was quiet, clean, very comfortable & far from the maddening crowds. Next day most of the crowds were leaving & the pool was mysteriously closed for "cleaning & maintenance" so I never saw the outdoor tepee or indoor/outdoor pool. Although their restaurant was never open as stated, there was plenty of choices in the neighborhood. I would have given the hotel 5 stars except for a couple of problems. NO fridge & microwaves in rooms & for a 2 night stay it was very inconvenient to take the elevator to another floor to find the few ice machines available to make my tiny ice chest into an icebox for my needs. They are also pet friendly for a $25 one time non refundable fee. I loved the hotel & I'd stay here again, but not on a holiday.

The room was a good size and had a couch and a balcony, but we could not turn the air conditioning off. The control board didn't work. Also the walls were thin and we could hear everything!. The bed was almost rock solid and the TV was not even a flat screen. When we asked about late checkout they told us we would have to wait until the morning to know if we could check out late, which didn't make sense to me. The waterpark would have been great if tickets were not 40.a person!!!

Decent inexpensive place to stay, conveniently located

- Mar 18, 2012
The title summarizes it. It's nothing special, and the walls are a bit thin. But if you're neighbors aren't especially loud, it can be a very convenient, inexpensive place to stay. Overall it's not bad, just don't expect extras.

I actually enjoyed staying here at this hotel. Due to the cold and snow/freezing rain, there were enough conveniences around that that made the stay here more comfortable...
On the corner of two main streets:
convenience store, open 24/7,
T/A truck stop, also open 24/7
and a native(green chile), foods restaurant on the opposing corner that actually had good food(kudos to the cook!).
Wonderfull "shuttle car" service!
BUT..., In the room; one of the lights had a bulb out, a washed but grimmy towel was given to me to use after requesting exchange and because of the proximity/location of te truck stop, not as clean as could have been, good though...

The Albuquerque Marriott is a quality hotel that is well located and offers a number of guest amenities.
I took advantage of the fitness center and pool. My room had a good view out over the valley and the baloon-filled sky. There are a number of good restaurants nearby.
Best of all, I got a good deal on the room rate.

I was expecting a little to much from the name since I have stayed in La Quinta's before but this one did not live up to the standards that I have come to see in other La Quinta's. This facility must have been built in the early to mid 90's, u can tell cause everything seems so small, the hallway, the bathroom.
The room was descent, great bed and work desk, the TV has seen better days and the image on the screen was ok when it was able to warm up after a while. Like I said before the bathroom was very small, no elbow room when you use the toilet. Air conditioner worked great, and there was a ceiling fan. No ice machine on the first floor, you have to take the elevator to the second floor. Another thing was that they allow dogs, all the time they were everywhere in the lobby, the elevator, across my room. The breakfast was ok but do plan on skiping it if you have time to eat later in the day. Safe to say that I will not be coming back to any La Quinta's in New Mexico.

Hotel was very nice in our opinion. We were traveling through the southwest and the Balloon Fiesta was one of our stops. Hotel was very convenient to the activities. Of course, since the Fiesta was going on, rates were up but can't really complain. The free breakfast was excellent. We had a suite and it was clean. Only real complaint was we were on second floor and there was not an elavator convenient to our room and we had a lot of luggage.

but it's great for what it is. I was in town for just one night and needed a place to crash. The gentleman at the front desk was nice, the check-in process was easy, and the room was fine. I didn't expect a great view or gourmet room service. But the television worked, the shower had hot water, and the sheets were clean. To be honest, I don't know if it's in a "good" location (i didn't go out) but it's a very short drive from the university.

Great for families

We have stayed here before and chose this hotel for it's amenities. On this last visit there was construction in process so the patio/courtyard was not available. On Saturday the hot tub was emptied and refilled so unable to use. This did not bother us as they had upgraded us to a two bedroom suite upon arrival. We will stay there again. Staff very friendly and helpful.
