Great weekend getaway!

  • Ally RN
  • Oct 25, 2012
Went here for the first time with a few people. the restaurants were good and nightlife was great! we went to Cuba Libre our first night and everything was great, good crown good drinks and great music. Sat we went outside the hotel to party. The first night we went to HQ at the Revel hotel, that was the worst experience ever...overrated and cost us 70 to get in per couple and then had to walk up 6 flights of stairs in heels, not very safe and very very overcrowded. Left there went to The Pool at Harrahs which was a very good experience and atmosphere. Would def recommend Tropicana hotel and go back anytime!

This was our first trip to Atlantic City. The Tropicana was amazing. We arrived Saturday at noon. Check-in was fast and simple. Room was adequate - nothing special. The rest of the hotel and casino was 4+ star quality! Highly recommend Carmines for dinner. Tropicana is located on the boardwalk but quite a healthy walk to the other casinos. But I'm not sure there's any reason you need to leave this huge entertainment center.

Boyfriend and I had a romantic getaway and got upgraded from a regular room to a suite with a gorgeous view. On request, they changed our checkout time from noon to 1pm so we had a little extra time. The only thing I could complain about is that at this time of year, a lot of the restaurants in Harrah's were closed, so we had to forage elsewhere. Overall, excellent room, unbeatable deal, a great experience all in all.

You get what you pay for

  • NYCam
  • Sep 10, 2012
This was probably the cheapest hotel I could find in such short notice, and there is a reason why: you get what you pay for. The rooms are regularly equipped...but with outdated amenities. The TV is straight from the 90s, but not in a retro way. They either have had that thing for at least a decade, or they bought it at a garage sale. The rooms itself weren't half bad, big comfortable beds and a decent sized bathroom and tub...except the bathroom was very dirty (looking). I've seen college dorm bathrooms cleaner than that. Grout was dirty, paint was chipping, airvent looked like it would crumble at any moment. Windows didn't seem that safe either, one of my rooms had a cracked window even.

The Atlantic while located down far on the boardwalk proved to be a worthy stay. Had tickets to a show at Taj Mahal. There rooms were 460.00 for one night. Atlantic was less than half the price, not bad considering we were just there for one night to sleep and shower. Hair dryers are aincient wall things that if you have long hair take your own. Carpets and furniture could use a cleaning or upgrade, otherwise it was a good bang for the buck. Staff was friendly. Check in a little slow as they only had one person behind desk at 5:00 on a saturday. Would stay there again. WiFi should be an amenitie. You are behind the times on that.

Description
Budget motel with a pass to high-class amenities The Annex is the result of four-star hotel The Chelsea taking a Howard Johnson hotel under its wing. Though the luxurious touches of The Chelsea Tower rooms do not extend to its Annex, described by the property as "retro-motel style accommodations," the price point is markedly lower than the main hotel. Highlights Outdoor heated saltwater pool and weekday access to seasonal rooftop poolTwo restaurants and several nightlife venuesBoardwalk access to quickly reach restaurants, casinos and shoppingSpa offers massage and body treatmentsBicycle rentals and complimentary 24-hour fitness center Rooms Cost-conscious rooms deliver TVs with On-Demand service and iPod docking stations at the bedside. (No Wi-Fi here.) Bathrooms at the Annex at The Chelsea stay true to the retro vibe with original tile and vintage fixtures. Most rooms have balconies overlooking the saltwater pool. Designed as the hotel's social wing, connecting rooms and suites at The Annex offer group-friendly configurations. Order door-to-door food delivery from Teplitzky's, the classic diner downstairs. You get what you pay for. There's nothing special for a balcony on the Annex side. The room was nicely decorated however could have been cleaner. For someone who has allergies- DUST is not our best friend! The bathroom was clean but could use a lot of updating. The room was very humid and the air conditioner could not work fast nor hard enough to get rid of the dampness in the room. Fortunately we were only staying for one night. Please put in a dehumidifier for each room.

This was a quaint little hotel with a European feel. Adaquate accomodations throughout. We took an upgrade with a balcony view of Pacific Ave. This hotel was quiet and very conveniently located right off the boardwalk. The hallways were dimly lit, probably to mask the debris all over the floors, however the room was clean. Overall,a decent place to stay at an affordable price.

This was my first time visiting Atlantic City and i had an amazing time.I am looking forward on going back again soon. The only different thing that i would do is stay at a different hotel. The room walls were so thin that i cold hear the next door neighbors parting , singing and doing other private things that i did not wanted to hear. It was very uncomfortable to me. What i did enjoy was their bar i believe is called "wild west" .. they literally have drinks specials all day and they are pretty good also good music.

I stayed at the Borgata for two nights and was very pleased. It was clean, the rooms were nicely decorated and the hallways were nice as well and for me as soon as I get off the elevator that's the first thing I notice! There were so many great restaurants to choose from. The casinos were pleasant and open with a lot of tables. I travel to Atlantic City a lot for business and stayed in almost all the hotels, this was my first time at the Borgata and I will now only stay there!

When we showed up at the hotel around 8 pm then didn't want to honor our room type reservation. We had paid extra for a King Bay View room and they said they had none available. However, after getting a manager involved they reluctantly found us a room with a king bed, no view. The room looked great but wreaked of cigarette smoke. The smell was overwhelming and never went away. All of the clothes we wore or left out in the room ended up smelling like smoke. I also think they put us in a room that wasn't ready to be rented out because there were no towel racks and there wasn't a blow dryer. Other than that the hotel was a pretty good value. We had fun in the casino and had a few meals there which were decent as well.

My only complaint was no room service, but their complimentary breakfast buffet more than made up for it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had a minor problem with my room lock and by the time I got back upstairs from the front desk maintenance was already there taking care of it. The free 24/7 coffee bar in the lobby was a great surprise as the coffee provided in the room was not that great. The fridge in the room was clean and worked great. I would stay here again as the hotel for the most part is within walking distance to everything...

We wanted a low-price motel near the boardwalk, and we achieved that goal. We were able to check-in quickly and make it to our concert in plenty of time. We were local to the attractions we wanted to see, had free parking, the bed was comfortable, the tv and air conditioning worked, and the bathroom was clean and the shower worked great. That was all we could ask for and would stay there again.

Nice, clean place. Biggest problem was the hotel manager's attitude. There were flies in the room & I had to kill a roach when we first got there. Staff changed our room to the one right next to it which was fine, but the manager was very unpleasant about it. He was also getting yelled at the next day by another hotel guest so I could see I wasn't the only one that didn't appreciate his manner. Otherwise the hotel is just in a great location by the beach & right next to a casino, so not bad for the money at all.

great clean room in good location for us. we were looking for nice place to stay the night near Tropicana casino on the weekend. there were many choices but very expensive. this was $110 a night which is OK compare to others. The only problem was with breakfast. The sign says that it is available `till 10:30 AM. However it was gone before 9:30 AM and we had to leave hungry. But otherwise this place is good to stay.

Parked in 1 lot and was lucky enough to get an end space in the lot across the street, where my room was... Across the street. Decent looking room. But it was clean. Happy to see that. Nice guys at front desk. And nice housekeepers. 15 minute walk to Badder Field for Heavy Metall concert. Not near the big casinos but food, bank and boardwalk adjacent. Good security cameras. No major issues.

A two star hotel with a 3 - 4 star price. Door to room was cracked as if broken into at one time. Room was clean however bed was hard. Towels very thin. Breakfast consisted of frozen pastries and bread for toast along with cereal, juice and coffee. I will not stay again.

Description
Off the Boardwalk relaxation with big views and five pools A ritzy addition to the ever-popular Borgata in 2008, this water-view retreat boasts a unique cosmopolitan vibe. The 5-star Water Club is the result of a $400 million (USD) development endeavor that features 43 stories of modern, relaxing bliss. Done in dark neutrals and earthy materials, this luxurious Atlantic City hotel cultivates a soothing atmosphere with easy access to the Borgata for excitement. Aptly named, The Water Club features five heated pools that invite lounging year round, plus a score of luxurious amenities meant to pamper and spoil. Highlights Three indoor pools and two outdoor pools with palm trees, poolside cocktails, jacuzzis, underwater music and cabana rentalsDecadent two-story Immersion spaFitness center has the latest machines from Techno Gym with panoramic views of the city and shoreA tranquil hotel environment adjacent to the action of the Borgata, a 24-hour casino, a dozen restaurants, nightlife and shows Rooms Just 800 attractive rooms and suites (a modest number by Atlantic City standards) offer ocean views, 400-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets, mini bars, rain dome showerheads, robes and slippers, 40" Sony LCD HDTVs, in-room dining and Wi-Fi access (fees apply). Those wanting a flat-screen TV, bathtub or mini-fridge prefer the Borgata instead. Great Stay!

Walking into the Water Club I knew this was going to be a great stay. The staff was good but could of been clearer with information regarding my bags at check-in I gave to valet. Didn't know I was suppose to drop off ticket but that's the only complaint. Room was nice and clean housekeeping prompt and Water Club is my place to stay when I return

With borgata remodeling all their rooms there's no need to stay at the Water club.
