Fun Getaway

I've stayed at most of the hotels in A.C. over the years and this was my first time at the Taj. The entire staff (from check-in to housekeeping to the casino floor) were very friendly and helpful. I truly felt like a valued guest. Rooms were large and not overly decorated which made them comfortable. Both restaurant and casino waitress staff were prompt and accomodating. In visiting other casinos, I found that not all held the same standards for those of us who smoke. Most had only the older slot games and one did not even offer waitress service in the smoking area. Overall I would definitely stay at the Taj again.

Moldy Shower
-
Winer
- Jan 25, 2012
We were told at check in that our rooms were in an area of the hotel that had recently been renovated. It must have been horrible prior to the renovation because the lampshades had tears and dents in them, the chair and ottoman looked dirty, there was mold on the shower ceiling and tiny flies in the bathroom (probably liked the mold).

I had a bad experience with the front desk at first since she did not accept my friend who forgot his ID. I told her to change under my name but did not work. she just ignored or had no knowledge that she could change with the confirmation number. At last, the other desk helped her to change it... it took a while for this small change...
the room is pretty clean and neat. The view is good but i think most of all the location is really good. have access to any where including the board walk and the outlets. I think it was a pretty good stay.

Walls are Too Thin
-
A Caesar's First Timer
- Jan 17, 2012
I would have thought that the room construction was better, given the room rates. But, the walls were apparently too thin. On our first night, we could hear our next door neighbors talking and laughing loudly. On our second night, I even heared the couple in the next room getting some action. People would be running up and down the hallway in the middle of the night yet nobody even bothered to advise them to keep quiet.
In short, if you are looking for a quiet place to stay, then you are better off going somewhere else.

We walked up to the boardwalk and had a great time at ripleys museum and had pizza. The room was good overall, firm mattresses, a little rough around the edges, the hotel had a nice little outdoor novilty pool. Its not harrahs resort but made for a good dip. Great value for where it is and the day, Free parking saved about $20, pays for itself.

When my 21-year old daughter and I arrived, we were impressed with the location one block from the beach and some casinos. The hotel is nicely designed and decorated, room was comfortable. Valet staff very helpful with restaurant recommendations and local info, more so than desk staff. Drawbacks: there were no bellmen so we had to load a cart and take it up to our room ourselves. (Guess we saved on tips!) The toilet didn't work well, had to keep flushing to clear it. Also hotel didn't provide any info on what was happening that week in Atlantic City; had to go to another hotel to get it. Overall a pleasant stay.

A good and bad stay

The room was presentable, but we had to ask the hotel staff for towels. Their response was, "we don't have any dry towels yet." Really! It took about an hour, but we received our towels. The next day we could not even get clean wash cloths. The breakfast was very good. Also, the pool was a wonderfully clean place to visit. So like I said the good and the bad stay.

Not a Bad place to Stay, it's near the casino's. It would of be more enjoyable if it had a macrowave and a refigerater in the room.

Started off bad. Had reservations waited for an hour for a room. Then needed a smoking room so I had to wait another half an hour, what was the point of a reservation !?!? They couldnt offer an upgrade of any slot dollars. Atleast the staff was nice and the roulette tables paid out.

Could be a decent hotel after the renovations are completed

The room was ok but very dated. It had that old smell. Bathrooms are in definite need of updating. Water leaking from the shower on to the floor. Called the housekeeping and they brought us a few towels to wipe the floors with (but we had to do the wiping ourselves)
Most restaurants are still closed. No pool yet. Casino - below average experience:
not a waitress in sight until after the pit boss called the waitress managers. Very few black jack tables and the dealers are not much too look at.

this was the worst hotel ever. The beds where hard as rocks. The room was clean but had a funny odder to it. And when I took a shower at night the water wouldn't get warm not even the slightest. In the morning it was fine.

Not a great place to stay

Rocky
- Aug 17, 2011
The hotel is convenient to Atlantic City casinos, but has something to be desired. We asked for a non-smoking room and we could definitely tell that people had been smoking in there. The room was drab. The towels were dingy and very thin, the tub had rust spots on it, the tv didn't work right, etc. Not a place we would ever stay again. I'd pay the difference and stay at one of the casinos in the future.
