Very clean and comfortable hotel. No problems with anything. Went on new years eve and wasn't going out for night but other guests weren't bad and quiet after passing our door. Might have been luckily than others but we encountered no problems. Was accessible to both downtown Portsmouth and the mall in Newington. Parking was good and hotel was kept clean.

This is a beautifully appointed hotel with everything you would expect at a luxury hotel. Very nice pool and gym. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Location was steps from all the important places in town. I'd definitely go again.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights over Christmas vacation for a family getaway & to do some outlet shopping. FANTASTIC location near the Kittery Outlets as well as around the corner from restaurants/mall area. Queen beds in the bedroom, separate living room with pull-out couch & full kitchen was the bomb. Super clean place. Great breakfast with make-your-own waffles, eggs, bacon & a ton of other food for breakfast. The amazing thing was that M-Th they give you a complimentary DINNER. I have never heard of this before. The ONLY downside to this hotel was that there was no jacuzzi, but a clean adequate pool area. Also, they provide a free shuttle to get around town. My sons used to get back from the outlets when they were sick of shopping.

This was Christmas week-end and so there weren't many guests. Yet, we were given a handicapped room on the back end of the second floor. When we called the desk to report that the pay-per-view options weren't working, they transferred us to the provider. I spent 45 minutes with them to learn that the service was down for the week-end. When I told the front desk this, they told me that I could have a free bottle of wine and call Monday to see if management would give us any kind of refund.
When we asked where we could get a good lobster dinner, we found the restaraunt was closed when we got there.
With all that said, the room and the breakfast were both wonderful.

Great Weekend Getaway

Portsmouth New Hampshire was a new adventure for us and we stayed at the Residence Inn along with 2 other couples. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful from the front desk staff to the employee staffing the breakfast area. The rooms were large, nicely decorated and very comfortable. We didn't need the fully equipped kitchen as we only stayed one night but the refrigerator with ice maker came in handy. The bathroom was large with an extra large shower. We slept very well in the comfortable king size bed and enjoyed the large flat screen TV with HBO. We also made use of the free WiFi service. The only problem was that we had to pay $15 for the public parking lot across the street. Our friends got a parking ticket for parking on the opposite side of the street while we were checking in the hotel. Be sure to park only in the spaces directly in front of the hotel to check in. It was a little bit of walk but we enjoyed the restaurants, shops and harbor cruise while we were there. We also enjoyed a tour of the Wentworth-Coolidge Mansion which we had to drive to on Sunday. We will definitely return and stay here in the future.

Great little city awsome shops restautants little pubs all in walking distance. "Fat Belly's" is a must go restaurant. Only poor thing was you had to pay for parking $15 bucks a day. Great Hotel Awsome staff Was a great weekend

This is a well located hotel, graced with a nice modern decor in rooms. We received very friendly and pleasant service at the reception. The hotel is well located, near the heart of Portsmouth, near many excellent restaurants and shopping. The lobby was being renovated but that was not disruptive at all (we also received an information sheet about the renovation). One criticism is that 's it's too bad that you have to pay for the parking (10$ per night to be parked outside, which in the NH weather is not exactly great).

they didn't do my in-laws across the hall either
The desk was very helpful with directions etc.
the breakfast spread covered everything anyone would want

The Portsmouth Hampton Inn is a friendly hotel with great service. The staff were wonderful, the beds are outstanding, and the free breakfasts were fantastic. We used the hotel as a base for delightful day trips, including a train ride to Boston, a tour of the Portmouth harbor, and sampling the many restaurants and coffeeshops. The hotel is a bit hard to find, nestled back from the main road, but once you get there, it is nice an quiet.

My only issue with our stay was there was no breakfast for the holiday weekend only pastries were offered. I wish I'd known up front . One of the main reasons I'd pick this hotel was for the free breakfast.
On the upside we were given a free room upgrade as soon as we checked in due to the size of our family 2 kids, a baby and my husband and myself..

make sure you go over your confirmation, i asked for 2 double beds and the confirmation said 1 double bed so my husband, daughter and myself had to sleep in a room for 1. we did get a cot for no charge. the room was nice but small.
the breakfast was really good and only 5 mins from downtown

We just stayed 1 night at the hotel to go out in downtown portsmouth and it was great. The rooms were tidy, front desk staff very helpful, the beds were incredibly comfortable-- we didn't want to get up in the morning because they were so comfy-- and they serve a cute continental breakfast in the morning which was actually quite good with bagels and cereal, fresh fruit-- etc. Would definitely stay there again (a little pricey) but relatively close to downtown, it's right off the traffic circle and only a 5 min cab ride there. Only issues we encountered were with the bathroom the fan didn't work so it was really stuffy in our room after we showered and they recommended a very poorly mannered cab company who told us to "hurry up because they were too busy". All in all the hotel was really great!

I wanted to go to the beach and this was the perfect gateway... the room was very nice and the bed was comfy. I enjoyed myself so much that I decided to stay another night... I will miss being so close to the wonderful beaches of New Hampshire!!!!

This hotel showed that it cared about it's clients. I found this trip was a very enjoyable experience. The room clean and very well maintained with small personal touches such as a 6 inch wide border that gave the room an at home feeling.

Great breakfast, friendly staff!

The staff was very friendly, helped us call a cab, gave us information about the nightlife. Hans at the front desk was great! The breakfast was included and delicious! They had waffles, fruit, yogurt, and decent coffee. I would definitely stay again.

This was the nicest hotel we have ever stayed at. The staff were exceptional. That includes everone. The roundabout diner was extremely good. staff there was also great.We would recomend this hotel and resteraunt to anyone going in that area.

Great Motel with Bed and Breakfast Feel

I actually drive out of my way to stay here. The rooms are very cozy and clean. They are also equipt with HD TV's and Satellite. The wireless internet works great no matter what room I stay in. Its so nice to find a unique "non-chain" hotel.

We booked the Motel online [...] and have been surprised how nice it is. Everybody was very nice and friendly. Good breakfast and with a cab downtown for ~10 $ is not so far away.

We were there to visit with my family. It was very nice. The breakfasts were fantastic. The pool and hot tub were awesome. Service was excellent. Very nice!

The hotel was clean and friendly. Location was good, but a little noisy due to location near the highway. Portmouth, NH was a very nice town to visit. A lot of thing to do downtown with shops, dining and entertainment.

I have stayed here many times over the years. It is always a pleasure. The Inn is within walking distance of all the great restaurants in Portsmouth as well as Strawberry Banke.

This Motel 6 is just 1 mile from the Pease International Tradeport, also nearby is 2 of the largest malls in New Hampshire. WiFi available in all guest rooms for $2.99 per 24 hours.

Last minute weekend get away

Location was great for Kittery shopping & exploring downtown Portsmouth . Quick drive to each. Motel was as expected, nothing fancy. Desk staff was very nice, room was clean, bathroom very clean. Small TV, (20 inch) but clear. Mattress was very hard and not too comfortable. Asked for extra pillows & blankets which helped. Left the room early and came back for a rest around 3 pm and housekeeping still had not made up the room. So just a very average room, ok price but for a bit more money can probably do better.

If you are traveling and need a place to sleep and grab a quick shower, this hotel is for you. It is inexpensive and convenient and clean. If you want anything more, go elsewhere. The room has one wooden desk chair, so you cannot sit and visit comfortably. The bathroom has no shampoo/conditioner, no tissues, no hair dryer. There is no clock in the room. If I just need a place to sleep, I don't want to pay for a lot of amenities that I will not be using. However, this hotel offers fewer "creature comforts" than any place I have ever stayed.
