Hotel had experienced a severe hail storm that knocked out all windows on north side of bldg so windows in my room were sealed with plastic unitl new windows could be installed but staff was apologetic and nice. Pool was drained and looked like had not been funtioning in a while.

It was a very quiet, clean, and nice place to stay in rural Nebraska. The staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel seemed in very good order. Thank you!

Description
We are close to McCook Community College, Red Willow Lake, historical downtown McCook, golfing at the nationally ranked Heritage Hills Golf Course, and corporate locations including Work Ethic Camp, Southwest Energy and Parker Hannifin Corporation. The AAA approved Economy 8 is located in McCook, NE. Guests can enjoy a free deluxe continental breakfast, free high speed internet access, and free local calls at the newly remodeled hotel as of the Summer 2011.

Very convenient location

This was a nice, convenient motel that had everything one would expect from a room in this price range. If you need a pool and hot tub to complete your stay you are better off renting elsewhere. But if all you need is a clean comfortable room this will do nicely.

Quick and easy check in and check out procedures. At 8 am, the breakfast service was already over (but I don't book hotels to get a bowl of cereal). The bed was good, the paint fresh. The small room was clean and furnished with a micro and fridge. The musty smell of the room was a real turn off. This is an inexpensive place to rest for 8-10 hours, and that's all it is. Other McCool hotels charge a lot more and give you added features. If you're on a budget, bring some air freshener and you'll do fine here for an overnight.
