La Quinta is one of my favorite hotel chains along with Jameson Inn and County Inn & Suites. I have stayed at La Quinta hotels in San Antonio, Texas ; Cary and now Winston- Salem, NC. Each La Quinta hotel was consistent with quality and comfort of the bed. Flat screen television was a nice addition and the spacious rooms are without comparison.

Everything was great except I had to ask for fridge even though it was in the description for the room. Not a big deal, the first guy I saw that worked at the hotel was super nice and got it within 5 minutes! Very cool. Only thing I didn't like were the pillows. Way too big and poofy for my taste. Neck was hurting the next 2 days.

Seems the rooms at this hotel chain are hit or miss and it seems if it's a miss there is something wrong with the bathroom. This one happens to be a miss. The hairdryer was not functional and the faucets quit working in the middle of my shower. Hard to turn them off when they fall off in your hand.

The hotel smells like cigarette smoke. I was in a non smoking room but it made no difference b/c the smoke fills the halls and seeps underneath the door. I went to take a shower when I got in and the shower turned into a bath (shower was backing up). The customer service rep did offer to move me to a smoking room or a regular king room b/c there was no one there on a Friday evening at 5 p.m. to fix the shower. Then the bathroom overall was dirty! Thrash on the floor, used soap in the shower, shower walls and floor filthy. The only bright spot was [...] from housekeeping that came by the next day and cleaned that bathroom like it was her own.The doors shut insanely loud.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was great, very accommodating and pleasant. Rooms are clean, common areas are well kept and welcoming. The breakfast offers something for everyone.

Hotel was in a good location with a friendly staff. The rooms are clean, however the rooms are noisy. We could hear the doors closing and kids jumping around.
Overall the hotel was good and we would stay again.

My son and I stayed for one night for a college visit to look at Wake Forest University. The hotel was very convenient to restaurants downtown and to the University. Our corner room with two beds was huge--a great value.
There is no onsite restaurant for breakfast but the room had a refrigerator and microwave so we picked up a few items the night before.

Really new and very clean with modern decor
Short ride to the university
Staff was friendly and accommodating -- our flight was delayed and we did not check in til 2:30 am and desk personnel got us into our room immediately, scheduled a wake-up call and ordered a taxi for the next morning. Breakfast was included and we were able to grab coffee and muffins to go

Very easy access to local places. Several places to eat on this exit and the next one up. Close to the Mall and other shopping. For Business people the Office Depot is at this exit. Staff is very friendly and the room I had was spacious compared to others in the area.
Excellent breakfast. Real food not just bagal and waffle. Sausage or Bacon, buscuit and gravy, eggs.
Also noticed the hotel is "kid friendly". rolling beds, pool.
Location was docked one because you have to make U turns to get in to hotel and out to the shopping center.

Nice stay for two nights

The hotel was efficient and well placed for families who have loved ones in the Wake Forest Baptist hospital. Walking distance of 2 blocks. The motel was well run and clean. Breakfast was typical and nice.

Convenient to Wake Forest

This hotel is right across the street from the football, baseball and basketball sites for Wake Forest. It is also about a mile from the back entrance to the campus.

The hotel & staff was very accommodating. The room was clean and the breakfast was nice. I have young children and safety is my top priority and the location was just that safe!! Overall good experience for our short day trip to Winston Salem.

My husband and I were visiting family so we weren't in the room much other than to sleep. It had a very comfortable bed. Room was spacious and clean. Very quiet room for being on the first floor - we didn't hear other guests coming and going.
Didn't like that the physically challenged accessible shower flooded at least half of bathroom floor because there was nothing to hold it back. The water stopped just before the sink because the drain wasn't indented enough to catch it. Shower did have good pressure and had lots of hot water.

This hotel is brand new and everything is nice a clean on the inside. The rooms were very nice and the staff was very pleasant. Breakfast was great too. It's also a good out of the way location back off the road and seems very safe and secure. I'd love to stay here again.

Enjoyed a stay at the hotel in a very convenient location. Unfortunately, the hotel did not provide a complimentary breakfast. Instead, it was $10.25, and we were forced to eat fast food for virtually every meal. The staff was very friendly, though, and there was a bar.

This Holiday Inn was expensive because I did not tell them we were visiting Wake Forest University when I booked it. The Breakfast was expensive and poor. We did not feel safe because it appeared that someone had tried to pry open our room door when we unlocked it for the first time. The hotel desk had a sign posted that cars had been broken into in their parking lot and to remove all electronic devices like GPS units from view.

The front desk manager was very helpful, the location was good and it was exactly what I wanted. However they have NO housekeeping or anything on site. So when I had a problem like needing a new garbage can or an extra towel - there was no way to accomodate that.

Very nice staff. I requested and received a late check-in. Upon arrival I was given a key-card to access my room but it did not work when I got to the room. This was annoying, but I called the front desk from my cell phone and within a minute a security guard was there to let me in. Another minute later and the front desk agent himself was at my door with new key cards. The room itself was not spectacular, but the price was right.

We had a great stay. from the welcome desk to the Valet parking. the rooms were comfortable and the bathrooms were HUGE :) The pool was clean and relaxing. Beds were cumfy and pillows fluffy yet not too soft. :) the breakfast was wonderful too. i only wish we could have stayed longer :)

We are Florida residents and decided to spend a couple days at the Embassy Suites away from the family after busy holiday. Hotel was very cozy after having a White Christmas in Winston-Salem. Room was huge and emaculate, breakfast was fantastic - cooked to order, the staff was superb and rates were great! I highly recommend this hotel.

We loved the hotel and the location. We enjoyed several stores and fast foods places being within walking distance. We also enjoyed the spacious rooms and hospitality. We also enjoyed the basketball court in the middle of the hotel with the picnic table. The breakfast was wonderful (especially compared to other hotels we have visited).

We had a wedding to attend, so we did not stay that much at the hotel, but the room was not worth 135.00 way toooo pricey for no more than you got, we had pieces of pop tart on the floor, we get into the room. Overall the hotel was just ok. would proably not stay there again. Was not up to normal courtyard standards. Other Courtyards are usually very nice and worth there money!!!

I've stayed here before, as recently as July '09; there was a big difference in a negative way:
burn hole in bedspread, sugar packet holder had ashes and cigarette burns...this was a smoke-free room; only 1 glass, stains on the carpet, no room number on the door, duct tape repair in shower, no dishwashing liquid available even though brochure indicated it was available at front desk, front desk lady could not tell me how to call directory assistance from my room...I'll stop now.

asked for non smoking room but got one with ashtrays and a bad smell. the breakfast selection was minimal; coffee, juice, toast, danish, cereal. beds were very soft and uncomfortable. was disappointed with the quality as i expected more from a DAYS INN.
wouldn't choose it again when traveling to the same area.

The property was clean, front desk check in was slow, the check in lady was polite and nice enough to us in rooms away from the rest of the renters. The location was marginal and hotel seemed to cater to construction workers, transients and cash payers (people with out credit cards).

went there for a family weekend with daughters to visit son at Wake Forest; it was quiet and clean; staff was very friendly; the entrance to the hotel from the street was confusing the first few times; location close to shopping and several fast food restaurants if that is your thing; there are hotels a bit closer to Wake Forest; I had read a number of reviews stating an exceptional continental breakfast was offered- I thought the breakfast was average and typical;

I only stayed one night as I was in town to pick up my daughter. I like the hotel and this is my second stay. It is clean and well located to the mall and easy access off Interstate 40. I arrived early and could check into my room early which was nice. THe breakfast buffet is also a nice addition and saves you from having to spend more money on food.
