$50 charge for dog

I was looking for a motel that accepted dogs. When I found Courtyard at Marriott the info said that dogs were allowed. There was no indication that there would be a $50 fee for the dog. If I had known that I would have found another motel. As we entered with our dog the receptionist said, "You didn't tell me you had a dog." and then charged the extra $50. I wanted to leave and find another motel but my husband wanted to stay. I was dismayed and felt I was being charged for something I had not been told about on the internet and would not have made the reservation had I known about it. The motel was nice but I will never again stay at a Marriott.

Since this was a brand new hotel, I was expecting some quirks but it was a great experience even if we were just there for a night. The room was emmaculate and the reception staff was polite and pleasant. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to the Statesville area. There was an Outback steakhouse right down the street as well!

The clerk charged me twice for the same room..we had to call the corporate office and they took a while to get back with us. It really was not a good experience and we probably won't stay there again.

my father and me were going to the nasacr race in north carolina that weekend!we would go out and get a bite to eat and have leftovers from the restaurant but we had no way of keeping the food cold,for a later time!Then we couldn't heat it up either no microwave!Next time we stay in a hotel thts one thing were looking for!

Getting to the hotel was difficult. The route was poorly marked. Once at the hotel, because we had reservations, everything was ready and it only took a few moments to check in. All of the people were very helpful, room was clean and well appointed, the beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom very functional. Breakfast was very good, lots of selection.

Overall we were not 100 percent satisfied with the hotel.We were stoping for the night on our way to Myrtle Beach,SC.We stayed here just because we were driving everywhere in Wythville,VA and couldn't find a room and decided to stop in Statesville.My tip:MAKE A RESERVATION!!We got a room for about $64 for two double beds.Dirty rooms!Old carpet,Mold around sink,room could NoT have been Vacuumed in weeks and we also found a plastic milk seal beside the bed,old faded drapes,shower drain fell in constantly,and there was a sheet of dust everywhere!Breakfast,however was good.There was a variety of food including belgian waffles.The computer in the lobby really helped us that morning too!Service was not too bad exept for a man working the front desk but I don't blame him because it was 3am.Really,if your stopping,I would say go ahead if you want your basic motel.

A bit run down, but good nights sleep

This motel was a bit on the run down side. The room was reasonably clean except for a few pieces of candy wrappers on the floor. The sheets were a bit thin. We were only given towels, no washcloths. I had to ask twice for the washcloths and then finally got them about 45 minutes later. The bathroom was clean, sink area was clean and TV worked well. We got a good night's sleep for a fair price.

We stayed at the hotel for only one night. The price was good for the location. The staff was not very friendly, but the hotel was clean and the room was comfortable. The breakfast was not large but they did have a variety of items. There are plenty of places to choose from for eating.

We chose this Red Roof Inn because of the price and location right off of the freeway. We had stayed in a Red Roof Inn before and were satisfied. This place was clean and the room and bathroom were very up to date. It was a great place to stay for one night.

the lobby smelled. on our way to our room there were people sitting in their rooms with their doors open - wondered why? -- well we soon found out why --- the rooms smelled terrible. the rooms were not clean. the rooms were in need of updating. the towels were even frayed and tattered. we left and went to the store and bought lysol and lysol wipes to make it so we could make it through the night. in the morning i went to the lobby to get coffee -- i didn't get any or anything else as it still smelled and everything was dirty looking. i have never complained about a hotel before but this is way far out of anything or any place i would ever stay in again. i will tell you just from this experience i will never stay in a super 8 again.

We looked at so many that by the time we chose this one we had forgotten what we had settled on. We were on a 1,000 mile trek and needed to rest after 600+ miles. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The host was very friendly and helpful. He referred us to a very nice eatery.

Good location if you plan to go to the gem mine in Hiddenite. Other than that not much around that exit. Rooms,lobby and outside smelled like moth balls. The carpet in the room was damp. Had no alarm clock in the room. About the only thing that was good was that the beds where comfortable.
