GREAT OVERNIGHT STAY!

We stayed here the night before a gymnastics meet. It was close to everything we needed and easy to find.
The staff was great. My daughter loved the fresh baked cookies upon arrival and the continental breakfast was ready when we were.
We will stay here again for the next meet in Hickory!

Overalll the room was nice; however, there was not a single box of facial tissue in the room. Also the cable provider for this location does not provide a listing of what's on - they only provide you with the channels available (not good at all, if you're looking for a good movie on HBO), so you have to constantly flip through channels and hope you can find a good show at the time.

Good price, old hotel

We've stayed at this hotel a few times over the last 10 years. However, this last stay was very disappointing. The hotel needs a major maintenance overall - new carpet, new tissue holders, new vent covers in hallways (some were hanging open as it appears they are warped). It just seemed very old and felt and appeared unclean.

Happy with hotel stay

Our only complaint, besides having no safe in the room, was that the A/C unit ran all the time - it was not controlled by a thermostat. The good was that if you like to sleep with "white noise", it was very restful and kept any outside noise from coming in. On the bad side was that the room got very cold at night and you had to get up to turn the temp down on the unit so it didn't blow so hard - but then if you got hot, you also had to get up to adjust it. The room was clean, comfortable, and the staff friendly. Overall, about the best Hickory has to offer in hotels.

nice pillows and comfortable bed. Clean. Front desk failed to give wakeup call as requested; made us late since we overslept. Would stay here again but use own clock. Surprised by the nice bedding and really comfortable pillows and mattress. Good for the price.

Clean hotel with good service. Our room had an individual digital thermostat that I appreciated. Continental breakfast was good. Wish bathroom had a fan but don't know how many rooms don't have a fan in the bathroom. Overall, I felt good about the experience. Right next to Carabba's Italian Grill which makes it great to have an outstanding dinner, some drinks and not have to drive.

After using several pricing sites to find a reservation at this hotel, which were all the same price, I decided to stick with Orbitz - generally overall great experiences using their service. My only complaint is that the lady at the desk commented that even though we used Orbitz, we still got the walk in rate. Hmm. Then what is the benefit?
Second, the buffet bar was terrible, it just lacked compared to other hotels. There were no eggs, but hey, I can improvise.
Overall, great and clean place and I would recommend to anyone.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The bottom floor smelled smokey and the hallways on 2nd and 3rd floor had a musty/floral/soapy odor like too much use of a carpet deodorizer. Our room was very fresh and clean and so was the room where breakfast was served. The complimentary breakfast had coffee, juices, milk, boiled eggs, hot waffles, cereals, biscuits & gravy, muffins, bagels, toast, & spreads. The bed was OK, hotel manager said mattresses had been replaced due to reviews about hard mattresses. We had 4 pillows for the queen bed which was great because we like thick pillows.

The night time staff was great :) very nice girl and guy but the lady during the morning hours shouldnt be behind the counter. She just dont come out as a people person. I called the GM on that monday and told her my thoughs she appreciated me getting in touch with her.

Friendly desk staff, decent free breakfast, met basic needs, facility a bit 'tired' but close to services and Convention Center where I had business. I was a late registrant for the conference and there were no rooms available elsewhere.

It's not a bad place. It's clean, the rooms are huge and it's located near the mall and several resturantes.Only complaint is the stairways are kind of dirty and scuffed up. I paid $85 I would have been happier paying $65-75.

A very handy - to our activitties - location. We were in Hickory for four different events and were within t0 - 15 minutes of eachof the parties. Easy off and on!
Very quiet rooms.
As we use a cane, appreciated the proximity to the parking lot and that the elevator was close to the outside door and easily accesible on the second floor.
