Walking distance from downtown. The best thing is that the room had a small stove, refrigerator, and kitchen sink. Everything is new and clean. Huge windows, nice bathroom.

It's a beautiful hotel. Easy access to Queens University for Parents' Weekend. Just wished Breakfast was complimentary...a little too expensive for a hotel catered breakfast. Complimentary coffee was only available at breakfast.

I had a very pleasant stay at the Hyatt. I am one that loves modern hotels and Hyatt met exceeded my expectations. The room's decor was very chic and comfortable. I really liked the fact that the TV had all the necessary cable adapters that I needed to complete my work and entertainment purposes. It's one of my favorite hotels to stay in even for an in-town stay. The continental breakfast was great. Everything was fresh and clean. The location wasn't that great, but it was very close to the airport for those flying in.

This was my second time at this hotel and it was just as good as the first. This time I had the breakfast and it was good for a complimentary breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I would stay here again.

The hotel was great - location fantastic - easy to find. The only complaint was that the furniture (dresser) was old and it had a gigantic sag in the middle. It looked like the previous TV was extremely heavy and caused this. It also looked very worn. Needs to be replaced. Room was very clean and the bathroom was great! The breakfast was very good each day and staff was helpful and courteous. I would stay here again.

I chose this hotel as the final destination on our wedding night. The staff was very helpful. The agent at the front desk was even kind enough to let me look at 2 rooms with different views before making my selection.
Both the room and bathroom were spotless. I chose the "Charlotte Uptown" view which was marvelous. The price was reasonable and the service was top notch.
I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Charlotte.

The hotel is in a great location, heart of downtown.
Room was very comfortable and had a fantastic view of Charlotte. Truly enjoyed a room on the higher levels.
Staff was very attentive and professional.
The only con, they charge for parking even if you decide to park your vehicle yourself you still have to pay for it.
overall a great stay if you can afford it, lots of choices around though!

We came down for Halloween and a Football Game on Sunday. The hotel was in a perfect location and very clean. The staff was friendly as well. The fridge was not working. We were supposed to get 2 queens but were stuck with one king. They said because we booked through orbitz we were not guaranteed the 2 queens. They did give us some breakfast passes since they couldn't give us our two beds. Overall it was a great hotel but a little disappointed that we didnt get what we paid for. Would definitely return though!

This is the perfect location to have a fun weekend on the town! Smack in the middle of uptown and the epicentre! The staff was wonderful as well! If you're looking for the place to go for a weekend to play this is the best place to stay!

Great Hotel, Needs Maintenance Attention

The Sheraton Charlotte is an outstanding hotel. The staff is courteous and goes the extra mile to serve their guests. The room was clean, comfortable, updated, and had the expected amenities. However more attention needs to be placed on general room maintenance.
I arrived late and went directly to my room. Wanted to watch the news before retiring. The TV wasn't getting a signal. I initially thought it was a simple remote control problem & tried to correct it myself. When I couldn't, I called the front desk & they immediately sent up an engineer. I was told that the TV needed to be re-programed. He returned shortly with a computer. When that didn't work, the supervisor came up. They offered to move me to another room but it was late & I was settled. Why bother for 1 nite. They were able to replace the cable & get it programed to receive digital channels.
When I went to use the sink in the bathroom, the hot water handle came off in my hands. I was able to put it back on & turn off the water. I also noticed the left side of the TP holder was barely connected to the wall and the tank top to the toilet was not properly placed.
These were all relatively minor issues but they are details which should not be ignored in a quality establishment. Would this keep me from a return visit, no. But it would have been very annoying if I was going to be there longer than 1 night.

Great location! Perfect access to the convention center and local restaurants. Easy walking distance to almost everything. Didn't need car the entire time we were there.

I loved the hotel room! It was so cute. We were in town for a wedding and some of the guests stayed at the Westin. We were told that we made a better choice to stay at the Courtyard Marriott. It was so close to everything. We walked every where. We were lucky enough to have the ST Patty's Day parade right out the front door during our stay. The only complaint is that the sign to the hotel is hard to see when coming from N. Tryon to S. Tryon. The address they give you is actually on a door next to the hotel entrance and the sign is "kitty corner" on the side of the building (Tryon and 3rd). We didn't see it until we turned around.

Solved a great problem for me, close to CLT. Booked the same day , it is not as unexpensive as quality inn or roadway but much better quality . I had to check out from quality because it looked like a motel so I booked in country inn and solved my problem . Beds are very comfortable

Very Clean and Neat. GREAT location...near the University and all major highways. Nice breakfast bar, but unfortunately, no cookies for me. They were always out of them :( I wish the pool was all indoor...it was a little misleading as the pool was part indoor and part outdoor. A little too cold for swimming in, but the jacuzzi was just perfect.

Super 8 in Charlotte: Okay but not Super

I booked this hotel because of its low price, so I had no illusions that it would in any way accommodate its guests as if it were a luxury hotel. It met my expectations. Overall, it was average: the room was acceptably clean and comfortable, the pool is small but
functional and the cleaning staff replaced the towels and soap each day. The breakfast was skimpy, but it was an amenity to guests, so the price was right. The office staff, for the most part, was barely welcoming and justified the poor reviews of previous guests. That there is no restaurant within walking distance means that one has to venture out by car or cab, and the neighborhood, while not particularly dangerous, is hardly welcoming in attractiveness or comfort. Perhaps most important, if you do not have a car and need to get around by taxi, bring plenty of extra cash. You're going to need it! All in all, the lodging experience of this Super 8 motel is average and ordinary, but at a price that makes it tolerable. If your goal is to travel frugally and without more than the barest of amenities, this place is for you.

Hotel as expected for price - not luxurious but not bare bones either. Not a great neighborhood - light industrial - but very conveniently a block away from bus to downtown. Road construction outside was annoying but not the hotel's fault. Alarm clock was broken but replaced the next day when reported. Large tv, friendly staff. Main disappointment was the "continental breakfast": two choices of cereal, toast, convenence store mini donuts, and juice/coffee.

Shower Issues but addressed by staff

Hot water wasn't running...so had to hop into another room to take a shower. Next day, same issue. However on further inspection, we discovered that the valve was installed incorrectly such that the hot is on the cold side just before you shut off the water and the cold side was on the hot valve.
The room was very nice, and open.
Liked the big flat screen TV and the sitting area. Very clean and modern!

Great staff better than expected room. A little dirty as i pulled back the dreaded comforter to find hairs in the bed. Also I didnt sleep well because the toilet ran constantly. I am sure they would have moved me if I ask but as usual I didnt. Overall good stay.

A very clean and orderly hotel. Staff was efficient. The location is handy for air travelers. Airplane noise made listening to the TV challenging, but that's why it says Wingate by Wyndham Charlotte Airport. Restaurants and grocery store nearby.
Overall a good value for the money spent.

I enjoyed my stay there...It was a quiet place, it was clean, and the front desk attendants were nice...The cleaning ladies were not overly friendly, but all in all it was a great stay and i would stay here again.

I use this location often for trips to Charlotte. My only complaint is that my nonsmoking room has to be accessed through hallways where smoking is allowed. On this trip, it was noticeable enough that it may cause me to reconsider my choice next time.

We stayed at this hotel since it was close to Carowinds. The room was not the same as what the pictures showed online, and the breakfast wasn't too great. The shower was dirty when we arrived, but other than that, I have no complaints. Very friendly staff!

Visited Charlotte for a family party. Got in late Friday night and the front desk staff was very nice and welcoming. The hotel was comfortable and clean. We just needed a place to stay for a couple of nights and this had everything we needed. I would stay again.

Was ok for one night. Just stayed overnight to go to s.cc next day. Was not inviting. More like a motel. Bad repair jobs. The worst part is I booked the room online and when I got there the lady wrote out one room for 14 dollars cheaper then I paid. When she noticed quickly changed. So obviously not lowest rates online.

I was in Charlotte to visit family and I couldn't have picked a better location. I was there for 3 nights. Since my family is scattered around the Charlotte and South Carolina area, it was centrally located.
The Ballantyne area is very pristine and new. If you like to shop, there many malls, great stores, and really good restaurants in the area. Many within walking distance.
The staff were super polite and accomodating from the moment I checked in with Hugh at the front desk. He recommended a perfect restaurant the first night.
The hotel itself is very modern and clean. The design is very hip and the lobby is a great place to relax. My room was very airy and comfortable. High ceilings and no gaudy pictures on the walls to take away the roomy feel. The bed was super comfortable. Not too hard and not too soft and the sheets and linens were immaculate. A great desk area that has everything you need to recharge and hook up your phone and Ipad.
It is one of the best hotels I've stayed in, and I will stay at the Ballantyne Aloft again in the future. When I travel to other cities, I will check to see if they have an Aloft, and that will be my hotel choice. Great, comfortable experience.

This was my first time staying in an aLoft hotel, and I was pleasantly satisfied! The contemporary design that the W hotels are known for showed true in this chain of hotels also. The bar, eating area and pool table in the lobby were a plus! The room was a nice size (not very big), but nicely designed and included free wireless that wasn't a hassle to set up like some hotels. The price was very reasonable and I would definitely recommend to anyone. I will probably be staying in an aLoft hotel if there is one where I'm traveling.

Pros: nice room with fresh interior, large TV and plenty of space. Friendly staff.
Cons: in-room movies didn't work, breakfast was pretty average (eggs or anything hot cost extra), left iPhone in the room and it was not returned.

Staff was great, decor was warm & inviting- Rooms where very nice, comfortable beds, clean, nice tv-only negative is food left a little to be desired but it filled the empty spot. Its my go to place in Charlotte

The room was small but clean. We basically just need a place to stay for the night so this place is acceptable. We didn't book it online until we got there and found coupon online.

We were attending a concert at Verizon Wireless. The distance to the concert was great but the hotel was not. It was clean enough but didn't feel very safe. I was grateful it was only 1 night.

This hotel is just that - a hotel. Only stayed there because it was a last resort. Definitely booking in advance next year so that I do not have to stay here again. It is very old and the room smelled very bad.

i arrived late and the parking lot was very dark. it was also hard to find the hotel at night because there wasn't a lit sign. i had to ask at a nearby restaurant where the hotel was. i was literaly afraid when i arrived because the office wasn't open at night and it was sooo dark! Since it was too late to go elsewhere and i had already paid online, i drove around the lot looking for the office. a security guard saw me and let me in my room. he was very nice and i did feel much safer knowing he was there. he watched the lot as i entered my room. the room was very clean and perhaps newly remodeled. i was very satisfied with the room. the internet service was also good. i would have liked to have had some ice, but it was too late and dark to venture out to find an ice machine. in the morning, when i could see the parking lot and surrounding area, i noticed that it wasn't bad. they just need a lot more lighting in the lot and surrounding area so people can find the hotel at night and feel a little more comfortable.
