This hotel is in a great location in a very cool city. We got randomly placed in a handicapped room, so admittedly had more room than our friends down the hall but everything was clean. My only very minor complaint was that they didn't have anyone on staff to shine a pair of shoes which surprised me.

This hotel was a great value yet some of the experience was less than desirable. Pros: spacious rooms with good amenities considering such a low price, friendly staff, airport and car rental transportation. Cons: Cleanliness and upkeep were poor to fair, there was only one person to run both the front desk and the shuttle van. This meant that people would have to wait at the front desk to check in or out for up to 30 mins and, likewise, one could wait 30 mins or more to get picked up. In the cold, that was unfun.

Cute, Comfortable and Great Location!

For New Years' 2012 a group of friends and I decided to go to Black Party VIII. It was less than 5 minutes to walk there in westport. The Q was in a perfect location to hang out and be within walking distance of our hotel in westport area. It was a clean, quiet and very comfortable room. I recommend this hotel.

Best part about this hotel is the location. It's in Westport, which is a fun area. Mostly bars but a few offbeat restaurants too. And it's a short drive or long walk to the Country Club Plaza, where you'll have lots of shopping and dining options (though none of them cheap).

This hotel has a good location accross from a parking garage and the plaza. It does also have a parking garage, but in any case it is a bit old. Not super fancy or anything. Beds are pretty comfortable.

Staff was very attentive, courteous, and professional. Hotel was very crowded, but to be expected on a holiday weekend. Room cleanliness was good, but not above average. Large, comfortable two room suite. If I were to have them fix anything it would be to replace those awful TV remotes. The TV hardly receives the signal from them.

The hotel was beautiful and very warm and accomidating. Happy hour hit the spot after a long day of traveling. Great pool area but the hot tub could have been warner for my liking. this would be my only complaint.

The location had its perks but also a slight downfall. It was conveniently located just a few miles from the Power and Light District and the Plaza. However, this part of Southwest Boulevard that it was located on was kind of sketchy. Loved the shuttle service that they offered. All of the staff we encountered (front desk, shuttle, and breakfast) were all very, very friendly. I would stay here again.

Hotel was good with several eating places within walking distance. There was a continental breakfast, but I'd recommend eating within the first hour, because toward the end of the alotted time, the hot foods were only warm, and probably the last of the initial batch put out that morning. If you want to stay in a more laid back part of town, this hotel is about 10 minutes away from the Plaza. Good hotel for the money.

The property was clean and we had a nice room on the 15th floor. Had a problem on Sunday night with a domestic problem where @ 3:30 AM there was a lot of yelling and cursing going on. We called security but the situation lasted at least 45 minutes. When we checked out the clerk said there was nothing she could do but give us free coffee and rolls. We decide to honor her offer but felt there should of been an adjustment on the rate.

We were very impressed with the staff and their knowledge of the area. The hotel itself was a bit out of the way, but was fairly quiet. It had a nice outdoor pool, but had cigarette butts laying all around and a bit of upkeep was needed. Overall, the facilities were clean but I believe they were beginning a remodeling process which was needed. We were very dissappointed to get to our room and find very little room! The rooms were fine for two people but no more than that. Bathrooms were outdated and mattresses were old standard hotel mattress. For the money...wouldn't use this hotel again.

I didn't expect much because of the low price but I was pleasantly surprised by how great the room was.
The sign said all new beds and they were super comfortable and the rooms were clean and decorated nicely with flat scree TV.
My only complaint was that the WI-FI connection could not be picked up in my room and I had to go outside to pick up the signal

the morning of my check out i received a billing summary that stated that i owed over 200$ for my stay. this never happened before[...]. when i went to the front desk to check out,[...] it took her 20 minutes to figure out that i did indeed pay already and don't need to pay again. and after wasting 20 minutes of my time (mind you i had a 6 am flight that day), there was none of "im sorry for the inconvenience", or "it was my mistake", or "thank you for staying with us". there was just silence, not even a "good bye".

We arrived at the hotel after a 4 hour drive from Des Moines. The entrance looked like a war zone. Don't judge a book by its cover.
The first thing we were looking forward to was enjoying a swim in the "largest heated outdoor pool in Kansas City." The pool was closed. So, we checked in.
The desk staff were friendly and looked happy to be there, a plus for checking in. I was pleasantly surprised when the staff offered to look up my Holiday Inn rewards account and verified that I was a member. The perk was free morning breakfasts. We were all happy with this as the weekend breakfast buffet was wonderful. The dining room staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel offered another great service, free shuttle service within the mid-town area. This made for a nice evening since we could get a ride to Crown center and see the sights along the way. The shuttle driver was courteous and professional and was knowledgable of the area. Once we were done shopping, we called the shuttle phone number and were picked up and taken back to the hotel.
We had two rooms, a King room and a 2-queen room. The King bed was comfortable and soft. The queens were very firm. Parking in the garage was easy to access.
The location of the hotel is extremely close to the Nelson Art Museum and the Kansas City Contemporary Museum of Art. For the art lovers reading this, the location is perfect. Also, a short walking distance to the Country Club Plaza.
In spite of the re-modeling that was taking place, our 3-day stay was enjoyable.

We only stayed for one night and got in late. The room was ok, and mostly clean. The bathroom seemed like it could use a deep clean and the carpet was in need of replacing.
The worst part of our experience was the complimentary breakfast in the morning. Breakfast was available until 9am and we came in at 8:30. The choices were waffles, some pastries, very stale hard biscuits with cold gravy, stale cereal with no milk, and a loaf of bread. The juice and coffee machine didn't work, and there were only knives and spoons, no forks. It seemed like someone came in and just threw whatever they could find on the table. It was really disappointing.

Easy access to freeway from hotel to get to Worlds of Fun and baseball stadium. Rooms were clean. Perfect place to stay for a short trip and won't be in the room that much. We have five in our family so we got adjoining rooms and that worked great. They do not have a pool.

Old, rundown, not worth the price

The room was tiny and painted entirely in aqua, as was the bathroom. The bathroom and shower were tiny, and there was no bathroom fan, so when you get out of the shower, the entire room is covered in steam, and the floor tiles are incredibly slippery. It's not an awful hotel (not super dirty, clean sheets), but it's very old and rundown for the price.

This was an "ok" place. If you are out for a ballgame and come back to the hotel after 9pm, good luck finding a place to park. The hotel shares its lots with a very popular bar which is located right across the parking lot. We had to parking 2 blocks away in a residential neighborhood. The bathrooms need upgrading (no exhaust fan or overhead lighting). the beds are too soft but I will say it was a very quiet nights sleep on the 6th floor.

The road construction from the exit to the hotel kept bumping you back onto highway. Took 30 minutes of circling back on and off highway to get to hotel. Waited an hour for a cab to take several groups to the Starlight Theater 2 miles away.

It was a fun time, bartender at hotel rather indifferent, service wise. Took exceptionally long to check in, but otherwise a nice place (Not overly clean....)

The staff was very helpful in acquiring a shuttle from the airport after returning our rental car. Their shuttles start early in the morning for early morning flights as well. No cost.

Hotel needed to be updated. The landscaping was in horrible condition. It looked like they just threw their leftover construction supplies and broken furniture out the back door where the dining area looked out over the lake.

Disappointed. We had three rooms to accommodate two other couples for two nights. The rooms were good when we arrived however the next day not all of the rooms were cleaned. One of the rooms they just made the bed and took the towels. They did not even bring clean towels back, we did call but no towels were brought up. The coffee pots were just left and when we asked for coffee to replace the packet used (in each room). They said they would and then did not not, When I called again for coffee packets to use in the room coffee pots, we were told they were out, we had to leave very early and wanted the coffee in the morning.

WE HAVE STAYED HERE PREVIOUSLY AND I SHOULD SAY THERE HAD BEEN SOME CHANGES, FOR THE POSITIVES....THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL, QUICK NO HASSLE CHECK-IN/OUT, ROOM WAS CLEAN AND LOCATION GREAT. VALUE, WELL LETS JUST SAY YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. AMENITIES....WHAT AMENITIES, I HAD TO ASK FOR DISH SOAP TO WASH THE LIMITED DISHES THEY PROVIDE, NO ROOM SERVICE SO HAD TO ASK FOR MORE LINENS, ONLY HAD 1 CART TO HAUL ALL OUR STUFF IN/OUT WHICH WAS BEING USED BOTH WAYS, ONLY 1 SMALL SOAP BAR FOR SHOWER AND SINK.
ITS NOT REALLY WORTH WHAT WE PAID FOR BUT WE WERE RIGHT WHERE WE WANTED TO BE, AT COUNTRY CLUB PLAZA, SO IF YOU DONT PLAN ON SPENDING ALOT OF TIME IN YOUR ROOM I WOULD PROBABLY RECOMMEND, OTHERWISE CHECK AROUND.

Were in Kansas City for a wedding. Mainly wanted to stay somewhere close to the activities. That was accomplished. The hotel could have had more amenties, but were not aware they catered to "long term" guests.Staff was very friendly and helpful.

This is a fantastic hotel room with a perfect localization at KC. close to everything for a weekend. Restaurants and shopping. a very clean room with a wonderful kitchen area. fabtastic confortable bed and a very spacious room for 2. a very fair costXbenefit.

I choose this hotel based mostly on location - one block from Plaza - and the fact that they had a seperate bedroom from living area. I traveled with my 3 year old daughter and we both enjoyed our stay here. Room was clean and well designed, modern. Staff was friendly, too. Oh and breakfast was great every morning!!
