The room was nice but noisy due to location to a vending machine. Restaurant OK.

Came to St. Paul to see our son in a play at the Lawry Lab Theater. This hotel was conveniently located just 3 blocks from the theater. Also nearby are other theaters, the Science Museum and several restaurant choices. Our room was clean, bed was comfortable, staff was helpful. We also took advantage of the inexpensive in and out parking on the premises.

This was a great hotel in a great location for having fun in Downtown St. Paul. Close to the Xcel Energy Center and the restaurants along West 7th St and close enough to walk to Rice Park and the Ordway.

We stay at Embassy Suites everywhere we go. This property was clean. The staff was competent and friendly. Only problem: there was a wedding reception and we were unable to park in the lot when we returned to the hotel after dinner at a local restaurant. It seems like hotel guests should have priority for parking lot spaces.

Despite a really late-night arrival and a full hotel, Reception managed to accommodate my request not to be on the ground floor. My very quiet courtyard-facing room could have used more lamps since there wasn't an outside window. Breakfast was hearty, including the best oatmeal ever served at a motel buffet. Staff was uniformly friendly. Overall, far superior to any other offerings in the Universities area.

1) Hotel said they could beat Cheap ticket price if they had been called direct
2) Cheap Ticket showed up as Orbitz on the hotel system
3) In the room, I walked across the room to the shower, in the shower I noticed my feet were so dirty they were leaving black dirt on the tub bottom

Everything was fine. Pool was clean...room was comfortable. The only problem we had was they put a family of eight (it seemed like) and a family of 5 on either side of us. We are 60ish, and didn't appreciate the CONSTANT noise and in/out of all of the kids. The hotel could take these things into account when deciding where to put people.

The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and quiet. Situated right off the interstate for easy access to St. Paul and the east suburbs. We stayed here while house-hunting in the area and were very pleased with the location and amenities.

We enjoyed our stay, the "but" is because of the neighborhood to the south. It is just rundown . WE HAD NO problems with anyone in the area. The hotel looks like a top hotel outside and in. The restaurant was close for the Labor Day holiday and renovations, but there are plenty of choices in the area.
My biggest problem was that I couldn't get on the internet on Sun. night. I was given a phone number and talked to a real live person! (no extra charge) and he said one of the hubs were down and apologized. It was fine the next morning.

Clean, neat room, excellent breakfast bar and good front desk service. Arrived later in the evening, left early in morning and would have loved to stay longer.

A very good hotel just north of St Paul

The room was clean and comfortable. There was a very large working area for me to do some paperwork and work on the computer. The hotel was quiet, but if you wanted some noise, it is attached to a bar/restaurant that seems to be busy every night.

Went to the St Paul Chamber Orchestra and the Opera. Fine music! And really good restaurants within 2 blocks: Meritage, PazzaLuna, Mickey's Diner (a 24 h dive), and the restaurants in the St Paul Hotel. Museums and The Schubert Club instrument collection and the Woodturner's Exhibit Hall right across the street.
Only downside was that there were no freebies--tips got to be expensive for parking; no free morning coffee (but the purchased coffee was delicious).

the minute i walk in, everyone was friendly and helpful. I walk down the hall to the elavator, very roomy, beautiful hallways and very clean, the room, awesome, spacious and room than your normal hotel room, this one has extra for no extra

Very impressed! My folks travelled with us to attend our daughter's graduation ceremony at U of MN. We had booked a one bedroom suite and they upgraded us to a two bedroom. It was like staying at a second home...roomy and very comfortable! The location is great and provides quick, easy access to either Minneapolis or St. Paul downtown areas while returning to a nice quiet, restful location. The continental breakfast is the best we've experienced, and my mom and dad can't stop raving about what a great value Homewood Suites is!
