Port Huron offers great shopping and excellent dining. Managed to snag a few Boxing Week specials and shared a great diner with my husband at Ruby Tuesdays.

Travelled to Port Huron with my 16 year old daughter for some back to school shopping. Hotel was easy to find, but Water St. is under construction, and to get from the hotel back to the shopping area, you have to take quite a detour!
Saw parts of Port Huron I didnt know existed, so all in all, it wasnt a bad thing!
Check in was speedy - we were given room 111, on the ground floor. 2 issues with this room:
1) its a handicapped room, so there is no bathtub, just a shower. Not unuseable, but odd, as we didnt request a handicapped room, and I saw a few other guests on location that could have benefitted from such a room.
2) I have to sleep in a pitch dark room, but the building floodlights sit right outside the room window - it was close to daylight in there even with the blinds closed at night!
Otherwise, room was clean, as was the remainder of the building. Quiet location, likely due to the construction. Breakfast was the typical eggs, sausage, waffles, yogurt, fruit, cereal etc., and we enjoyed the pool twice. Room had a larger than average bar-sized fridge as well as a microwave.
Checkout was a breeze. No issues, good value for the money!

Rooms are old but clean. New carpet. Smell from cleaning products and deodorizer. Small rooms. Very basic. Location is basically in a parking lot in a run down commercial part of town. Very nice staff. Modest free breakfast. Free wireless access. If you pay a low price for these rooms and stay a night and don't mind a very old property that has been maintained as best they can on a budget this place is fine.

Older hotel but clean and roomy. Staff was super! If you don't mind a little crack in the bathroom ceiling or are fine with a non 40 inch LCD TV you will enjoy the fact that you just saved about $100 compared to other hotels in the area. Was here in Jan. and the room heater was pumping the room up to a toasty temp.

Located so near the Blue Water Bridge my first impression was that we might be in for a noisy evening. But first impressions were wrong and we never heard any outside noise. In fact the hotel enforces a quiet zone within the hotel after 11:00 P.M.. The rooms were spotless and well maintained. The staff member at the front desk was friendly.

A pleasant stay in every way

This Fairfield Inn was a perfect stop after a long day of travel. It was welcoming with a homey atmosphere from the moment we stepped in the door. Guests were being served popcorn in the lobby. Our room was clean and comfortable and there was a nice breakfast served in the morning. The location was great just off the highway with some restaurants close by! We would recommend this Hotel to anyone.

First room assigned had dirty sheets, but hotel staff quickly moved us to another room. Very responsive.
Good location, but 2 other hotels in the same vicinity. Next time I would try one of the others.
Couldn't get a band-aid from front desk staff. No travel merchandise (aspirin, kleenex, first aid) available. Had to seek out convenience store.

This hotel has been our stopping point for years. The location is great from a travel point of view and for its location on the river. Our meals have been very good over the years. We also had a return reservation for our trip back to Michigan which we had to cancel due to a medical problem for which a physician we saw in NY state indicated we had to get home so the problem could be watched carefully for a few days. Even though the reservation was booked through Orbitz the Inn graciously agreed to a cancellation around noon on the day we were to arrive. Thank you.

We really enjoyed our stay a the hotel. Our room was great and the view was fantastic. We had a balcony room with a partial view and had a great view of the Blue Water bridge and the waterway. We really enjoyed sitting on our balcony and watching the boats. The wet area was nice and the pool was large. My husband really enjoyed the fitness area. The staff was friendly and accomodating. We cannot wait to return.
