Travel to Kennebunkport

Kennebunkport, Maine, is home to the Bush compound, a private area owned and maintained by former President Bush Senior. The town has the type of small-town feel that you have thought no longer existed, with locally owned restaurants and shops lining its main street. Save money on your trip when you choose Kennebunkport hotels at

Dock Square

Dock Square is a charming street in Kennebunkport lined with small trees and businesses. The area is not far from Gooch’s Beach, which offers travelers a place to play and relax. Even during the colder months, you can find people sitting on the beach, digging for clams, and enjoying the views. The Kennebunkport Inn sits along the road, and it is one of the most famous hotels in the area with rooms priced at $79 per night. The hotel provides small guesthouses along Dock Square and traditional hotel rooms inside the former home. The Port Tavern Bar and Grille at the hotel won several local awards, and it becomes a piano bar later in the evening. Guests can unwind with one of the best treatments at the onsite spa, or they can walk a few feet to reach the shops and restaurants in Dock Square.

Turbats Creek Road

The Lodge at Turbats Creek, which offers rooms from $79 per night, sits on a small road named for a creek that runs through the area. The hotel has its own heated saltwater pool that is open year-round, but guests can also venture down to the private beach from the lodge. Guests receive a free breakfast every morning and free wireless Internet access. You are just a short distance from amusement parks, golf courses, outlet malls, antique shops, and museums. The hotel also has information available for guests about local nature tours, biking trails, hiking trails, nature preserves, kayaking, and fishing.

Ocean Avenue

The drive along this road takes you past the Bush compound, and you can see amazing views from the rocky cliffs to the water below. There are even a few scenic areas available where you can turn off the road and enjoy the view for as long as you like. If you want to leave your car behind, you will find walking trails that run along the cliffs and along the water, putting you closer to the crashing waves.
