Lovely downtown hotel

Room was great. Hotel was clean and attractively furnished. Figuring out how to park and check in was a challenge because you are RIGHT downtown. There is a first floor entrance on Fenton, but it is only an elevator to the thrid floor where the registration desks are. You can also go to the fifth level in the Wayne Street garage around the corner which connects with the hotel. The garage is free on the weekend!

Arrived on a Sunday and stayed until Friday. It was nice to walk in every night to find both iced tea and ice water available in the lobby, as well as fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. I'm a huge tea drinker so this meant alot to me. It was also nice to have a business center available at any time. I could look up maps and print them every night before I took off for the next day.

Great new Hilton GI location. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The location can't be beat if you have business in the Silver Spring area AND you have a car. I can't imagine staying here without a car though.
A feature I really liked was the flavored water that was available in the lobby each afternoon. Both visually welcoming and tasty!

I knew while booking that I wouldn't be getting my normal luxurious room and accommodations. When I walked into the room it was small, but neat in appearance. The sheets underneath the blanket were gross; i decided to sleep on top of the blanket fully clothed. The bathroom was huge but had several holes in the wall and the mat inside of the tub was disgusting. The television in the room did not have clear channels. I did find the location convenient for me and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely not a place I would stay with my kids.

a great way to avoid washington traffic

We had a big event to attend at the Lincoln memorial witch would bring a lot of traffic to Washington. So we chose to stay in Silver Spring and take the metro, the location was great close to the metro but not expensive and helped us not to get stuck in Wash traffic when things were over. We did not stay long at the hotel but it was a clean place to rest our head. a m peereboom

We went to visit DC. But the stay was not that great. It was really noicy. If someone opens a door near our room, we felt someone was trying to open our door. In the morning someone from the staff tried to open the door without knocking. It was really bad. I was totally disappointed with the stay.

So close to five stars!

I loved this hotel. It was clean, the atmosphere was very "royal" and romantic, even the lighting was perfect in and out of the lobby. The front desk clerks were very professional and kind. However, the parking garage (and the fee to park) was a little confusing to me. And my morning was interrupted three times by housekeeping asking when I was going to check out. That was very rude and invasive, and I felt rushed to leave. For the price though, this hotel was a very sound choice and I plan on staying here again soon.

The accommodations were great at the Silver Spring, MD Crowne Plaza. My only complaint is that someone on my floor was fighting/ arguing and knocking on random doors from about 3:30 AM on both nights while staying at the Crowne Plaza. I called the front desk both nights and it seems that either there was no security or no one came to investigate and rectify the situation. The manager on duty approved for us to have a complimentary lunch on the hotel on Saturday and a complimentary stay in the future, if I decide to stay again. Not sure if I will stay in the future or not at this time.

slight parking issue, but solved later on in the evening. Altjhough there is free parking on weekends in downtown Silver Spring the valet charge was reasonable for a one night stay. Very clean room and extremely helpful staff members.

Loved the location. Two blocks from the Metro to DC. The driveway was a little cramped when pulling in, but was understandable as the structure in the middle of the driveway was a skylight to the pool (never seen that before, certainly appreciated the design). Breakfast was the usual, but there was a variety especially for something that was free! :o) Love the stay and would DEFINITELY go back...if not to that specific location at least to a HAMPTON INN on my next vacation!

Good location for visiting our daughter in Silver Spring & the sights in DC. 40% pricier than 2 budget hotels across the street (which were either full or badly reviewed) but cheaper than the big hotels in downtown Silver Spring. Continental breakfast was nice. Would stay there again.

Very clean room, comfortable bed. Came without refrigerator but maintenance delivered both fridge and microwave right away. Even good coffee.

The hotel itself was fine but I prepaid and then when I got to the hotel I had to give a card for incidentals. I charged nothing while I was there but when I got home and went to charge something at a store my card was declined. The hotel went on to charge me 2 additional times for the price of the room and my bank charged me overdraft charges. Eventually, my card was reimbursed but I incured 2 $35 overdraft fees by my bank making the room more costly than it was worth! The hotel did not reimburse me for these fees. Customers beware.
