This was not a bad place to stay but offers nothing special other than a convenient location and a clean room all run by friendly people. There was certainly nothing luxurious about the place but I would recommend it if you were looking for a place that was priced well and you got what you paid for. Only thing that did not impress us was the town itself - very quaint, old style, small specialty & gift shops, museums etc. but in old town style - walking was required. Also, it definitely was not a "peak, seasonal season because the sidewalks rolled up after 6 -hard to find suitable eating establishments open late.

The small staff at the hotel/motel were lovely. Continental breakfast was adequate, but there was not enough seating for a crowd. The room was a bit cramped and needs updating. The beds were very comfortable, but the air conditioning was a bit dicey. It was certainly adequate for a short stay and was very close to downtown Lenox and Tanglewood. Route 7/20 is a good access road to Berkshire towns. Try Panda, a nice Chinese restaurant just south of the hotel. The place stayed erect during Hurricane Irene, and that's a plus! D & B from NYC

We paid a little bit more than we are used to for this hotel but it seemed very well worth it. The room and bathroom was very clean and quiet. The breakfast was varied, fresh and wholesome. The staff was polite and very helpful. The night manager sought us out at breakfast the next day to see if our previous night's outing went well and to hear what our current day's plan was to see if we needed any further assistance. We were very impressed with her reaching out, cheerfulness and professionalism. Only negative: sealed room window prevented opening it to let in fresh New England Fall air.

Basic Comfort , Good Service, But Pricey

Our stay at the Knights Inn in Lenox was just for a quick overnight for a wedding. The room was clean, but we had to ask for a iron and ironing board which is usually provided for a room that costs more than $175 a night. The hotel staff were pleasant and accommodating to requests and the check in and out process was seamless.

We stayed here once before (2 years ago) and the place has definitely gone downhill in the interim. The room was clean and quiet - nothing special but as expected for the rate. Apparently during the off tourist season, the continental breakfast goes down to coffee, juice, bread and a toaster. It used to be much nicer - waffles, more hot offerings, etc. Wireless Internet didn't work in the room so I had to take my laptop to the lobby, where I had to put up with loud music from the bar/club area - where there were probably only 2 patrons. I won't be returning.

The Econo Lodge Lenox is ideally situated for visitors to Tanglewood, Lenox village and many Berkshire attractions. The property has an attractive large secluded grassy court with swimming pool, playground, and lawn chairs for relaxing. There is a restaurant on site but we did not eat there or even see inside that area. The room used for the complimentary breakfast is large but lacks ambience. It features tables for eight so don't plan on a cozy breakfast for a small group. But it could be nice if you like to meet others. The breakfast offerings were typical of economy properties, nothing fancy, nothing homemade. For my taste, the major drawback was that the rooms are all exterior corridor which discourages keeping the curtains open for natural light. And the windows do not open so the air in the room was stale and the air conditioning did not work well. Overall it was satisfactory for the price but another time I would look for an interior corridor hotel with windows that open to let in fresh air.

The hotel was good, location was close to The Mount at Lenox. We had the pool to ourselves which was very nice and the continental breakfast served was a lot better then expected.

In 1771 this comfortable Federal-style home and two nearby structures were built by John Whitlock who welcomed overnight guests. A few years later a small section was added to join the buildings and The Village Inn soon gained a reputation for fine hospitality a tradition that has continued for over 200 years. The Inn is quite old and it shows in certain places. However, the common rooms are well-kept and decorated nicely. The best part about the place, aside from the central location, is the breakfast. The first morning we were able to order from a menu because there were not many other visitors and on Sunday morning they put out a very large buffet. We're still raving about the gingerbread pancakes but the other items were good as well. There is also a restaurant on site that serves dinner. The food was good and the prices were a bit less than the other restaurants in the area. If you are staying for a couple of nights I'd say try it. If you are only there for the night there are many better options right up the street. As I stated previously, the Inn right in the center of Lenox and within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The staff is a bit zany but friendly none the less. And there is a bar right downstairs that gets a good crowd on the weekends (the crowd is also zany). The music can be heard upstairs and this may bother some depending on where your room is located. Overall, great value, good food and nice location.

In Lenox, just up the hill from Tanglewood, lies the Cornell Inn. The Inns Main House was constructed in 1888 as a large Victorian home. We have a cozy full-service pub, which serves as a favorite spot of guests. In Duffys Pub, we have an excellent selection of high-quality German beers, wines and mixed drinks. Summer weekends and holiday weekends are subject to a three-night minimum package purchase. We are a very strictly non-smoking property. While we are dog lovers and have a resident Lhasa Apso named Sasha and an English Springer Spaniel named Paxton, we are unable to accommodate guest pets. Check-in is at 7 00 PM. This room was fine for me because I spend very lttle time in a room when travelling. I was alone, but happy there were 2 beds because one had stains on the sheets which possibly indicate bedbugs. I did a search and found no bugs, so I had a good night's sleep in the bed with clean sheets. A coffee maker in the room would have been nice.
