You can't get any closer to MIT than this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was neat, clean, and comfortable. Internet was a bit pricey at $12.95/day -- for the cost of the room, Internet should have been included.

The LeMerdian is located close to MIT and Harvard and the room was perfect, especially the pillows. It was within walking distance to some great restaurants and coffees shops. I would definitely stay here again.

good location close to MIT, some bars with great beer selection around. Just a 25min walk or short metro ride to downtown. Free wifi, good breakfast and spacious rooms. The Kendall also is very clean and hotel staff very friendly and helpful. After long research it is for sure one with the best value for the money. Definitely will return on my next Boston visit!

Excellent weekend getaway

Planned a weekend getaway to accompany our Nutcracker show. Check in was slightly problematic as the included breakfast did not show up on the hotel computer. Easily fixed when I showed them the confirmation. The room had a good view, excellent set up with very efficient use of the space.
Breakfast buffet was good, with made to order omelets, and pancakes or french toast from the servers.

We met family members from out of state in Boston to enjoy the Duck Boat Tour, the Museum of Science,Boston Common, and a Red Sox game. This hotel was a great place to stay: easy access to the events we participated in. Fairly easy to locate as far as locating anything in Boston goes.

The hotel outlived my expectations -- the fanciest Best Western I've seen. However prices, due to the Head of the Charles, were pretty outrageous. But the convenience, the comfort, the sense of indulgence and the really great FULL breakfast were terrific and I would absolutely choose this hotel next time I come to Cambridge.

The location of the hotel wasn't desirable, it was outside the main area of Cambridge with very little options for restaurants close by had to go back into the city to find a nice restaurant. The room was clean and had the basic necessities. For being outside of the city the price for the room should have been lower.

Good Times at the Sheraton Commander, Cambridge

I went to Cambridge, MA to visit friends from college and was delighted to stay at the Commander. The location is ideal for anyone visiting Harvard University, and better amenities and service could not be asked for. My Queen room was just the right size for a person traveling alone. The staff was very friendly and helpful, signing me up for the Starwood Preferred Guest Program and even allowing me to leave my luggage at the hotel as I continued around Cambridge on the day of my check-out. The Nubar Restaurant is also a great deal; I ate there for breakfast and it featured a lovely presentation of buffet-style foods at a reasonable cost. Compared to previous Sheratons in which I have stayed, the room was both larger and smaller - larger than the first in which I stayed (in London) and smaller than the second (also in London), but, as above, the perfect size for a single traveler. My room was elegantly appointed, with a very clean and comfortable bed, small but clean-lined bathroom, coffee/tea maker in the room, and internet hookup. Although I did not use the free high-speed internet, it is a useful and gracious amenity, as many luxury hotels charge for such service. The business center was useful for checking email and information about the area, and the staff was also helpful in this latter domain. The lobby of the hotel is stunning, with its comfortable seating area and white marble (to the best of my knowledge) columns and flooring. The only part of my stay that surprised me was how small the elevator on my side of the hotel was, and how unstable it seemed. I was a bit worried when I entered with my luggage the first time I went up to my room. But all was well in the end. Overall, I would recommend the Sheraton Commander as a four-star hotel in an ideal location.

From the moment we checked in with Brian- we were treated with great care and concern. We had flown in from Green Bay to help our son move - it had been a long day. Brian extended an upgrade to a beautiful riverfront view room - so relaxing and calming. Great location -parking is pricey at hotel If you need public transportation the city bus stops at the nearby mall and runs along various T routes every 30 minutes.. This hotel isnow our new Boston home away from home.

Hotel Marlowe was a home away from home. We used the hotels kayaks, which were great! The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. We had actually stayed at another hotel across the river for the first few nights of our vacation. Same rating and all. Marlowe blows them out of the water! We felt like we were home. The staff was great. Only downfall for our children, was no pool.
