Boston Hotels

Boston Hotels
Boston hotels, much like the Massachusetts’ capital itself, boast exciting diversity. Find five-star hotels in downtown Boston that cater to business travelers, chic boutique properties suitable for couples in the Back Bay or Copley Square, and suburban Boston motels near Logan Airport for budget-minded tourists. Whatever your lifestyle or budget, Orbitz can help you find Boston hotel rooms that best suit your needs.

Choosing your Boston hotel
Orbitz makes it easy to quickly narrow down the selection of Boston hotel rooms that are right for you. Start by choosing the neighborhood and amenities you want, like Wi-Fi or free breakfast. Then scour reviews about hotels in Boston from our customers, with inside tips about rooms, service, comfort and more. You can even read Boston hotel reviews specifically written by business travelers, families and couples. Take advantage of photos and virtual tours too, as an essential part of researching your Boston hotel reservation.

Downtown Boston hotels
Staying at a hotel in Boston downtown is the easiest way to put all of Beantown’s attractions at your feet. Freedom Trail, Boston Common, Quincy Market, Faneuil Hall, and the bustling waterfront -- all are easily accessible when you choose a hotel in Boston’s downtown district. In the center, find Downtown Crossing, with a mix of historic landmarks, shops and award-winning restaurants. To the east of Downtown Crossing resides Boston’s Financial District, headquarters for big business. The Financial District also boasts a variety of properties, from modestly priced accommodations to luxury Boston resorts.

Back Bay and Copley Square hotels
The Back Bay is another popular location for travelers looking for hotels in Boston. It offers a mix of galleries, restaurants, trendy shops and salons in Copley Square and along Newbury Street; cultural sites like the Boston Public Library and Trinity Church; and the riverfront Esplanade, which beckons walkers, joggers and skaters. This neighborhood also is home to many trusted hotel names, including Hilton, Westin and Marriott.

Logan Airport hotels
Logan Airport is just northeast of downtown Boston on the MBTA Blue line, almost halfway between Revere Beach and Government Center. Boston motels and hotels near Logan Airport are typically cheaper than in-town properties and make a convenient jumping-off point to popular Massachusetts destinations, like Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.

CLASSIC

  • 1111111
  • Sep 27, 2011
This hotel is classic so if your looking for modern, this is not your hotel. The good points? It was my husbands birthday and after calling ahead they placed a dish of chocolates in the room with happy birthday written in chocolate. The view was excellent. The staff was very respectful. Bad points? Our room key did not work multiple times and we had to keep going downstairs to the front desk. You had to pay for parking 30 per day which is ridiculous considering how much they already charge to stay there. I wish they had more choices for breakfast-it would be good if they actually had breakfast on the outside patio. This hotel missed out by not having balconies for such an awesome view. It would have been nice to be upgraded and maybe have 2 glasses of champagne waiting in the room The bathroom is anything but luxurious. The biggest thing of all was that the doors are like paper..you can here EVERYTHING and they slam shut so every time your neighbor goes in or out....yep! your waking up whether you want to or not. And if your looking for free internet..this hotel does not have it.

Very Happy

  • Cololloby
  • Oct 16, 2011
I was only at the Four Seasons for one night, the staff was exceptional - friendly, courteous, and willing to help. By far the friendliest and most helpful I've encountered. I checked in around 8:30pm, but the housekeeping staff was still servicing the room. She had actually left behind a napkin spread on the floor - I think she may have had to clean up a stain. My bathroom counter top was not wiped clean, there was a glass/cup stain from it's previous customer. However, everything else was great. My room overlooked the park, it was quiet for sleeping, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel does not include internet service, you're required to pay a daily fee for internet. That's a little disappointing given that you're paying a fair amount for the hotel room. I can't compare the costs for parking, however, I was at another hotel last weekend in Boston and paid 1/2 of what I paid at the Four Seasons.

Had a wonderful stay at the Copley Marriott. It has a wonderful location in that it is easily accessible by T and there is much to see and do in the surrounding area. The room was very comfortable, and I slept extremely well in the fluffy bed I had. The view from my room was incredible overlooking the Charles River, and I was pleasantly surprised by the amenities provided by the hotel, including a Starbucks on the second floor. The only one misstep during my stay was that I requested a wake-up call which never came, but ironically the radio-alarm clock was on without me intervening, which got me up and out in time.

Very nice hotel. Great location on the water and convenient to everything Boston has to offer if you don't mind walking. "T" stop right across the street if you want to ride instead, and very easy and very cheap to take 10 minute trip on the blue line from Logan, especially if you only have carry-ons. When receptionist asked what brought us to Boston, and we replied it was our anniversary, she upgraded us to concierge level at no charge. We also arrived around 1030 A.M. and expected to have to wait but our room was ready for us. Room was clean and had good view of harbor.

The hotel was everything we expected and more. We were visiting our son at BU for Parent's Weekend. It was small as noted in other reviews, but very charming, tastefully appointed, clean and the staff always available and helpful. Great free coffee machine in lobby. The location was convenient to many areas like the Theater District, Copley Square and the T line but also private, tucked away homey. Brick sidewalks, trees and little restaurants nearby. Will surely go there again next time in Boston and have no reservations about recommending to others. The only complaint we had was that the satellite TV was very difficult to make work properly. I am fairly tech savvy and it confounded us the whole time. Almost missed the NLCS.

Everything you would expect . Nice staff, clean rooms but nothing ridiculous. The bar downstairs was cute they had lie entertainment on the weekend. Close to get to things and a short cab ride

Loved the hotel and most of the staff.

  • Nov 6, 2011
The hotel is very nice, the room was beautiful and the staff at the front desk was extraordinary. The staff in the restaurant, not so much. The hostess was gracious and wonderful, the young lady that bussed the tables was very efficient and polite. The waitress was terrible. She left myself and another guest sitting around waiting on her to get ready to take care of us because she was busy showing off whatever was so wonderful on her cellphone. He and I compared notes to assure ourselves that we had actually sat down and were waiting to be helped. I motioned to the young lady that bussed the tables, she came immediately and I asked for the waitress. I received an irritated glance from the waitress and the young lady that bussed the tables was delegated to see what I wanted; the waitress never returned and I did not leave a tip. I did notice that a gentleman in a very nice suit arrived and everyone jumped to attention and began to immediately appreciate their job security. Overall, I will return to the hotel in the future but I think I'll have breakfast elsewhere.

Thanksgiving getaway

  • Nomad Mom
  • Nov 26, 2012
The staff was very pleasant but my request for a room with a view of the water was ignored even though I'm a Priority Club member; instead, I got a view of an ugly rooftop to look at for three nights. I highly compliment the person or persons who cleaned our room on Friday, November 23. We left it a mess and came back to find it sparkling. We paid $40.00 a day for hotel parking for the convenience of valet service instead of using the cheaper public parking right next door. Still, to retrieve our car, no one drove it to the front entrance; we had to go down to the garage and wait for someone to find our car and drive it to the office. Next time, we'll just use public parking. Swimming pool was a disappointment. The food, drinks, and service at Miel and Rumba were pricey but excellent. Overall, the hotel was fine but not what one usually gets for five stars, more like four stars.

The staff, front doorman to housekeeping make you feel so welcome. Even upon checkout, we were offered a bottle of water...a very nice gesture. There is valet parking and on-site self park, which be pricey. Consider carefully if you need a car - Boston roads are very confusing anyway. The location is a very short distance from Boston Commons and many theaters; a perfection location for both.

Nice night for Fenway

Great hotel only a few blocks from Fenway. Very nice beds and comfortable sitting room in the suite. We had considered staying at the Howie Jo right by the stadium, but after walking by it, we definitely did the right thing paying the extra money to stay at the Eliot. We got a much nicer hotel for the price. Make sure if you need two beds to call after booking. site said one King or two Queen beds, but the suite with two Queen beds costs $40 more.

Being away from home over Christmas isn't fun but our stay at the Eliot made up for that. The room (a suite) was lovely and the staff were very helpful and cheerful. It would have been nice to have a refrigerator in the room and the room was a little cold, but overall the experience was wonderful. I would highly recommend the hotel for those who don't like the big hotel ambience.

Fancy Living

  • B.G. Here for the wedding
  • Sep 21, 2012
We had a really great stay at the Fairmont. The room was on the ground floor and didn't really have a view (just some shrubbery) but the room was extremely comfortable and luxurious. Bathroom was nice and big and the room was kept very clean and turned down twice a day. The in room coffee was really good as well. Small annoyances. The fridge was fully stocked with expensive minibar stuff, but that meant there wasn't much room for our leftovers. Also there was no microwave. Sadly there was no pool, but it didn't seem like many hotels in downtown Boston had pools. Also, in order to use the internet for free (instead of the $15 a day change), you had to sign up for their free rewards program. The online registration didn't work from my iPad and I got annoyed, but I was able to just fill out a tiny form at the front desk and there were no problems. I didn't get charged for the internet. And finally, the parking at the hotel is valet only, which means it's pricey (and they took a long time to bring our car around the one time we did it). For the remainder of our trip we paid half as much and parked around the corner in an open public lot. Overall I would recommend this hotel, just be on the lookout for cheaper parking.

Night Out

  • Nov 27, 2012
I booked the hotel for 1 night for my husband and I to celebrate an anniversary. We walked over to a restaurant and had drinks, dinner and saw a live band and it was great. The hotel pool and hot tub was nice. The locker room was very clean and the sauna was large. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.

A very nice hotel

My family had just returned from Germany and were plesantly suprise when we pulled up to the beautiful hotel . The staff was very nice and meet all our needs . I was disappointed that I had to pay $ 42. for valet parking while staying at the place , but was told I could "search around to find a free spot on the streets if I wanted to " , not too many options there . The room we stayed @ was clean & spacious with a very nice view , had coffee but had $ 4 .00 bottles of water on the counter, really, that nice of a hotel and you can't supply each guest a free bottle of water ? It's $4.00 for a case of 24 !

Cozy family hotel

  • Susan the traveler
  • Dec 25, 2012
My husband and I stayed here because of its overall value and close proximity to our son's college. They offered free wireless Internet which was a huge plus & continental breakfast which is always a quick money saver. Super close to the train subway and Fenway park. We liked the fact that there were several eateries nearby and the staff was willing to help us out with a roll away bed when our son needed to move out from the dorms for the holidays. It's not a large hotel which makes it more quaint and cozy. Will definitely consider staying here again.

Good low key getaway

  • Low key couple time
  • Nov 13, 2012
Very low key, quiet, nice hotel staff, area looked very historic, convenient for parking. Room a little out dated, hallway a little stale. I wish I had known it was park of the YMCA, I could have packed according to enjoy amenities like indoor pool and basketball court.

Okay room

The room is pretty big for a city hotel. It's a bit worn down. It's quiet and the location is good. The Navy Yard is a fun place to stay. My bed was too soft. It smelled of cleaning products. The folk who work there are very helpful. Since it's a YMCA, there is a nice indoor poor and great work-out center.

Enjoyable Overnight

  • waterdragon1
  • Dec 29, 2012
We stay at the Harborside every year on our way home from Christmas with the family. The staff is friendly and professional. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with king beds and lots of pillows. We typically have a quiet meal downstairs at the Harborside restaurant, which has a great menu and a serviceable wine list to go along with the view of Boston harbor. We also use the airport shuttle, which runs 24hrs. A fitness room is available, but I'm usually too worn out to use it. My only complaint about our stay is that the Harborside still charges for WiFi. That really cheapened an otherwise first class experience. Nevertheless, we'll be coming back next year and recommend the stay to others.
