My husband and I decided to go to NOLA for the weekend. After searching for a hotel that was close to the French Quarter, a good price, and clean we decided on this hotel. We were not disappointed! It was close to everything, the rooms and hotel were clean, and the staff was nice. We didn't have any problem with noise from late night guests or from the street. I would go to the hotel again!

Second Stay at the Iberville Suites

  • tricie
  • May 12, 2012
Our only complaint on our second stay at the Iberville Suites is that we were greatly disappointed in the breakfast. There were many more choices during our last stay. This time there were no waffle makers, danish, and the selection of fresh fruit was much smaller during this stay. We decided to go out for breakfast which was an expense we did not count on.

I booked rooms for 7 of us to take in the French Quarter Festival, and the location could not have been better. A block from Bourbon Street or Canal Street - You can walk anywhere in the Quarter! Some of our party were "upgraded" to rooms at the Ritz Carlton (same owner - next door), but I thought our suites were nice & roomy. Can't wait to go back.

Noisy and needs work

  • becky in tejas
  • Apr 16, 2012
The hotel is worn down and shows it. The elevator has issues and gets stuck open until someone comes and gives the door a hard shove and there are no stairs you can use to go upstairs (only down), so you often spend quite a bit of time waiting for the elevator to show up. Our room was right across from a neighboring hotel's parking garage and we heard the honking of the valet parkers twenty four hours a day. Also, the drain line for the air conditioning in the room was plugged and we had to keep the ice bucket under it to prevent everything in the bathroom from getting soaked.

Location was awesome but that was it!

  • Mari81
  • Jan 27, 2012
The front desk guy was rude because he said he couldnt find my reservation. He was like thats what happens when you book on the same day. I told him excuse me but I booked this 2 weeks ago. Then my room a/c didnt work. So I had to get another room. The lighting in this placed sucked. I understand that the building is very old but they can still do some updates. The remote to the tv had tape on the back of it. The only good thing about this hotel is that the location is awesome close to everything.

Perfect location

We stayed in the creole house off of St. Ann st. and I loved how close it was to the Fench Quarter. Only downfall was we had to find parking ourselves. When finally getting through traffic and all the blocked off roads, we finally found a parking spot and we literally didn't move it until we left 3 days later. There were clubs, food and bats close by so we walked everywhere. The room small but we only needed a place to pass out and get ready for the next day.

I always stay at the St. Peter House every time I go to NOLA, but I am practically a local. If you are from out of town and experiencing New Orleans for the first time, this place will not be for you. It has a charm all its own. The staff is pretty aloof, but has always been helpful. The location is great! The rooms are not the nicest, but if you are truly enjoying New Orleans, you are never in the hotel anyway. If its your first visit, pick somewhere else cause you will hate it. But if you frequent New Orleans and are looking for a good value for your stay, you will love it.

Convenient.Parking a little expensive but you are right in the heart of activity. Room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. It would have been nice to have a fan in the bathroom. But we spent most of our time sightseeing and enjoying the French Quarter so we mostly just slept in the room. Plenty of restaurants in the area so room service which was limited was not an issue. Nice heated outdoor pool.

Can't beat the location, very close to the action but quiet when you want to sleep. Hotel staff were very friendly and provided us with exceptionally clean and comfortable rooms. Pool was nice and relaxing. The only down side, and I mean the ONLY downside was that the hotel gym was not on the premise and you had to go to another location. However, I would definitely stay here again!

  • Apr 8, 2012
This hotel was quite lovely! I got the regency club package and it was worth it. The lobby on the top floor is nice with a wonderful view and a work out area. Our room was on the 26th floor overlooking the bridge and I suggest going for the bridge view when they give you the choice. The hotel was very clean, the staff was very nice and helpful. The restaurants looked nice but I didn't have enough time to check them all out. The room service was wonderful, the food was delicious. Checking in and out was very easy. The only downside was that I payed for the premium internet service, the Netflix was pretty unwatchable because it got choppy and lagged a lot about a minute in. I tried to use Amazon for watching movies but the correct plugins weren't installed on the TV so I just whipped out the laptop. Everything else was wonderful and I will stay here again next time I'm in NOLA!

Excellent accomodations

  • KateandJon
  • Mar 25, 2012
We were very pleased with this hotel. We especialy liked how quiet it was at night, no clanging of elevator or ice machines, no doors slamming. The staff were extremely helpful and eager to please. The young woman who signed us in made our stay so much better by offering specific information on where to visit, where to avoid, the places that were more "adult" and not appropriate for kids. She was a wealth of knowledge and the other ladies at the desk were similarly helpful. Because of my lactose intolerance I was unable to eat the oatmeal they offered with breakfast. Each morning I called down to the restaurant "7" and they happily custom made me some without milk and the service was excellent The beds were most luxurious, with extra pillows and lush comforters. Our only disappointment was with the shower head in our room. It was weak but the bathroom was very roomy, beautifully appointed and very clean. The lobby and registration desk had beautiful orchids and there was always a fruit laden water dispenser for guests.

The hotel was very nice. It was located downtown right in the mix of things . The only negative thing is the parking. We were hit with a $60.00 parking fee at checkout. They should have mentioned that at check-in. If your staying there parking should be free. There was cheaper parking in that area that I would have considered. Other than that it was a great stay.

We had a great time at the Astor Crowne Plaza. The location is amazing! It's right at the end of Bourbon street, walking distance to everywhere, and shops are near by. The hotel lobby is great but the rooms are just plain. The beds were extremely comfortable. The room service wasn't that great and the housekeeping people would never bring new clean towels.

Good Price/Value Flightly Staff

Overall.. great experience! A few things were a bit off however... The toiletries in the bathroom were an assortment of random soaps from other hotel brands. A little odd. The staff was sooooo nice. However there was a disconnect somewhere in the staffing. We asked for taxi's to be called... They were not. Wake up calls never happend. Staff didn't seem to be professionaly trained in hotel management. They were still so lovely and happy to help. It was just odd... it seemed like there was a lack of communication between departments and the front desk. Otherwise a great experience. I will be back.

I came with a friend just to get away for a night and I did just that! It was a great location! Everyone was super nice! The only thing it's a hotel on bourbon you should have room service 24 hrs ! Instead it cost us an outrageous amount to have food that we didn't eat bc it was gross delivered! But overall good visit!

Our room had blinds which let the morning sun in. After a night in the French Quarter the last thing any guest wants is morning sun waking them up. It appears that at one time curtains were in the room because I could see small holes in the ceiling (which were never filled or painted over).

It was a pleasant hotel and staff were helpful and friendly...I loved the service and food at the restaurant next to the hotel (they were really great... they anticipated every need...before you asked : water, bread etc..) you felt like Queen for the day...The desk person highly recommended the restaurant and Iwas grateful for the great dining experience...THE WORLD WAR 2 MUSEUM and film is a must see...I walked too much the first day... it would have been better to take the trolley (several available)...the next day I could barely walk and missed some programs at the RE convention ...Great food...friendly ,helpful people

I enjoyed its location in relation to the french quarter, and was a great deal for what it was. The hotel lacked a continental breakfast or a gym but with as much walking you will do and the plethora of great restaurants around the area it wasn't that big of a deal.

Nice hotel for the money

  • Brosemama
  • Mar 12, 2012
Large rooms, good housekeeping services and friendly staff. Parking was a bit sketchy....Valet service was short handed or non-existent but front desk happily retrieved our car or let us park in front of the hotel for a couple of hours. No coffee pot in our coffee maker but we weren't bothered by that...maybe someone else would want to fix lousy coffee in their room instead of drinking great New Orleans coffee down the street but not us! Hotel is conveniently located to the Quarter and the access to the freeway was about 5 blocks away. I would stay at this hotel again.

It a hotel!

  • Hary Work
  • Mar 16, 2012
Well the check in took approx 30 min. We expressed our time constraint however the staff could not understand the email sent to my smart phone I showed them. The pool was closed for repair. Upon entering the room we noticed it pretty warm. Called front desk and they notified me then rather upon check in that indeed the a/c was not working. Just not a very savvy staff and no flits for being the historic cotton exchange. Was a value and I guess I may have gotten what I paid for. However no one after a long day wants to be placed in an uncomfortable room.

This hotel is perfect for someone who wants to be close to the French Quarter, but not be bothered by the noise (or the cost) of the French Quarter. My only complaint was the check-in staff's failure to tell us there was a complimentary breakfast (so we spent three days paying for breakfast when we didn't need to). It was nothing special, but the price was right!

Mardi Gras Experience

  • Kellroy
  • Mar 5, 2012
Clean, bright, well staffed, very good food, quiet. Be aware of what is referred to as "incidentals". Upon checking out, be SURE to review your final charges. this will include any prepaid receipts as well as incidentals. My arrangements with the hotel (via travel agency) was lodging for 4 nights(4 mornings) with breakfasts INCLUDED. The final bill (incidentals) charged me with 2 breakfasts that were already included. They promptly adjusted the charges. Now, watch your bank or credit card statements to be certain that ANY adjustments made are reflected accordingly. Otherwise, 4 Star experience.

This was one of the only hotels in New Orleans that did not require a three night minimum for Mardi Gras weekend, which is why we picked it. We are glad we did. It was a great location. Our room was ready over two hours before the official check in time. The room was super clean and spacious. Comfy bedding. Super helpful bellmen and valet service. Would definitely stay here again.

Worth the cost. Staff was excellent. Room was Fine and location was excellent; three blocks from Burbon Street which is three blocks from Decatur Street. Two blocks over and about three blocks down from Frenchmen Street. Buffet breakfast was fitting for someone who wants to eat and get going or simply take your meal to the court yard and enjoy a delightful meal under the palm tress or poolside. The staff is the type that if you want or need something they will bring it to you and if they do not have it, they will go and get it.

This hotel was undergoing extensive renovation while we were staying there. As a result of this I can not say anything about the amenities in the hotel. They were all closed off. However, our room was newly redone and very nice. HIGH CEILINGS are nice. The staff was polite and helpful. The location of the hotel is good. Good access to the Quarter and the Canal Street streetcars.

My family and I stay for a weekend gateway. the hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful and nice. the price was listed well for the location. It is in walking distance to riverwalk, aquruim and buorbon street. The continetal breakfast was good. the only negative is you have to pay for parking. with valet parking you looking at $30. but can come and go as you please without any additional fees. I will recommend ths hotel to anyone looking to stay for a weeked gateway to enjoy new orleans.

Unique arts hotel

  • Apr 10, 2012
Great location in the up and coming Arts and Warehouse district (also very close to area museums) this hotel is within easy walking distance of the French Quarter and the Charles Street streetcar line for access to the Garden District and Tulane. The Art environment fo the hotel sets it apart from all the vanilla, mass marketed hotel room experiences and at a great value for the cost. While this hotel was great for the needs our family, including 16 and 13 year old boys, (really nice roof top pool, great work out room) it would be an even better choice for an adults-only get-away.
