Have been going to The Quarter for several years and this was the first stay at Le Marais. Our room was very nice, clean, comfortable etc. The morning continental breakfast was great, plenty of choices and all good. Loved the courtyard and pool area. You are half a block from all the excitement of Bourbon and the courtyard is so quiet. The staff was so nice. From the moment we checked in until we checked out three days later, the staff was wonderful. Can't wait to go back!

Overall it was a good experience. Easy booking through Orbitz. Was some confusion with the hotel staff regarding the length of stay (1 day or 2) but was easily resolved. Room was nice (didn't spend much time there) and located close to the French Quarter. Parking was $32 w/valet and they charge $9 for amenities (computer room/business center, etc) that I wasn't expecting but with the low price of the room was still a bargain. Staff was friendly and helpful, I had no issues with the stay and would recommend for future bookings...thanks...Tom...

We liked the location which was close to the trolley system. The room was very clean & comfortable. The staff was very helpful. We would certianly stay agian. The only downside was there was'nt a resturant at the hotel for late night eating. Dinner dining was in walking distant and available by trolley or driving. I would give this place 4 stars. My experience at the hotel was very pleasant. Everyone who worked there was helpful and friendly. I did not have any problems checking into the hotel. I was concerned prior to leaving on the trip because when I called to confirm my reservation I was told that orb. had not put in my request for the non-smoking side view balcony room. So the hotel reservationist told me she would put in a Smoking room side balcony Request but that it was not guaranteed. I told her I paid extra to get the non-smoking balcony room and she said Orb. could not guarantee that room BUT as I said when I arrived, I had the room I paid for through Orb. All went very smoothly. Would stay at hotel again and book through Orb.

Although only one street away from the very noisy Bourbon Street (think spring break at Fort Lauderdale), the hotel was quiet, clean and comfortable. It was within blocks of Brennan's and the equally wonderful Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse. This was an affordable, decent hotel within the French Quarter. I would stay there again.

I always stay at the St. Peter House every time I go to NOLA, but I am practically a local. If you are from out of town and experiencing New Orleans for the first time, this place will not be for you. It has a charm all its own. The staff is pretty aloof, but has always been helpful. The location is great! The rooms are not the nicest, but if you are truly enjoying New Orleans, you are never in the hotel anyway. If its your first visit, pick somewhere else cause you will hate it. But if you frequent New Orleans and are looking for a good value for your stay, you will love it.

The front desk guy was rude because he said he couldnt find my reservation. He was like thats what happens when you book on the same day. I told him excuse me but I booked this 2 weeks ago. Then my room a/c didnt work. So I had to get another room. The lighting in this placed sucked. I understand that the building is very old but they can still do some updates. The remote to the tv had tape on the back of it. The only good thing about this hotel is that the location is awesome close to everything.

Though architecturally more akin to your standard interstate motel, the O'Keefe Plaza is situated near but not adjacent to pretty much all the major destinations in New Orleans. This makes it a good choice for trips with multiple purposes. Going to a conference but want to visit the WWII Museum and the French Quarter? Perfect. This place is cheap and within walking distance of all three, not to mention the CBD, Superdome, and the trolley line into the Garden District. (Though the hippest part of the city--Frenchmen St to Bywater--is on the far side of the French Quarter, which is a fair but doable walk.) The Convention Center, our main destination, is not super close, but we valued the proximity to the Quarter (only about 5 blocks) and the museum. If you're only going for one purpose, you can find closer, and certainly nicer, but maybe not cheaper. The surrounding neighborhood is essentially skyscrapers and parking garages of the Central Business District; busy in the day but fairly deserted at night. We felt comfortable enough walking through it at night a number of times (better than Canal St, in my opinion) but some people might be put off. The hotel itself gives off a bit of a bad-neighborhood vibe, with all sorts of odd signs and restrictions, though the fabric of the place itself is nice enough, and we never encountered any problems. The staff is, well, minimal. Be prepared to wait for help at the front desk, because there will be only one person working an apparently none-too-streamlined system. The staff doesn't have a hospitality-industry attitude--more like a DMV one. But they get the job done eventually. This is perhaps the price for the low cost of lodging. Our room was minimal and smallish, but clean and acceptable. A few things weren't in the best repair, but nothing serious. The bathroom is about 10 square feet, and almost European-feeling in its compactness. I did not object, but it is unusual. The hotel does have its own (limited) parking lot, with rates (unlike other hotels in the area) as good or better than public parking. This is quite a nice feature of this hotel. If you value the hotel experience, maybe not the best place--and you'll need to pay for the upgrade. If you just want a decent place to sleep in a good place for a good price, it's a good pick. I'd go back under the same circumstances--and probably will.

Went down for the BCS Championship game and had a wonderful time staying at this hotel. If you are attending the Superdome, it doesn't get any better. I love all the renovations to the hotel, but the biggest negative is the size of the bathrooms in the rooms. Very small one sink bathroom! Otherwise we enjoyed our stay......

We were very pleased with our stay at the New Orleans Hyatt Regency. The staff were courteous and met our needs well. The location near the Superdome was perfect. The interior building architecture was both attractive and functional. The only issue was that of dealing with the volume of people that comes with a very large hotel. Overall, we enjoyed our time very much.

The hotel was as picture on their website. Nothing outstanding about it. It was conveniently located in the Central Buisness Disrtict, about two blocks from Harrahs, 2 blocks from the French Quarter and 2 blocks from a couple of Trolly lines. There was no refreigerator in the room. The hotel coffee was good. I never went to the restaraunt. For what I needed it for, (a place to pass out and shower) it was more than adequate.

Great location if you are going to Saints game. Safe area, we could walk anywhere in the city within minutes. The hotel has valet, but we found a parking garage less than 2 blocks away.

It was a very small corner room. The rug was stained and there was no stopper in the bath. I have stayed here in the past, but it wasn't this run down. They need to update and fix up a little. Not the best night sleep....

Arrived at the Hotel on Camp St but they told me I was at another one of their hotels a few blocks away. A little inconvenient. You would think they would of let you know this. Otherwise everything was fine as far as the room. They tried to charge me for two days parking when I only parked one. There are some hidden charges that will come out when you get your bill, be aware.

We checked in on New Years Day, also happened to be a Saint's home game and had to wait an hour, but the room was clean, made up, extra cot in place very quickly. The staff are great!!!! Very courteous and helpful. It is 1 block from Bourbon Street and a few blocks from Jackson Square so an easy walk. Best thing is that we parked the car and didn't have to drive again until we checked out. You can go eat, explore with your camera, shop. Then easily drop everything off in your room and out for the evening on Bourbon or Frenchman (a 20 - 30 minute walk). I would stay here again.

My stay in New Orleans was great, but my room was not, with all the extra fees and taxes, which is added to the cost of the room. The Pelham does not provide parking other them parking your car in the hotel parking lot down the street for 30.00 a night. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room we had was awful. The window and curtains had fresh blood on them. The fixtures in the bathroom was rusty and molding. The water pressure was a joke. The wall paper was peeling off. Never ate in there restaurant, there is not breakfast with the room, and if you want coffee they have a pot for the entire hotel in the lobby.

I love the location of this hotel, especially having Drago's in it..best charbroiled oysters. I do HATE how this hotel nickle and dimes everything from $12.50 for a day of internet, to $30/night to park your car. There's not even water bottles in the room, and trust me, you always ask if it's okay to drink the tap water in New Orleans. It really disappoints me with such a great hotel that they act sooo cheap.

Everything was great with the exception of our experience at check in. We arrived early so they did not have a room ready. They told me they would call me when they had a room ready. We walked around town for a few hours and returned at 3, which was our check in time. They still didnt have a room ready for us. I returned to the counter at 3:30, this time they had a room. For some reason, they never called me when this room was ready.

This hotel, located in the Garden District, was cute and in a good location to get around NoLa. Plenty of side street parking, popular restaurant downstairs. The desk staff was very accomodating and helpful - even offering us restaurant suggestion in the French Quarter. There is also a trolley stop directly outside - it's a quick (10 minutes) ride into Downtown NoLa. The distance between here and downtown was also easily walkable and felt safe.

Pleasant staff, allowed us to keep rented bikes in room. The neighborhood is undergoing construction but it is still safe. Close to the French quarter and Warehouse district, buses/streetcars available to other neighborhoods such as MidCity, Garden District, and Marigny but also walk-able if you are up to it

nice stay

perfect location, it´s a short walk to french quarter and bourbon street and everything else. The room was clean and had a very comfortable king-bed!! (you sleep like in heaven!) It was a little bit loud in the night, however it was possible to have a wonderful sleep. We stayed 2 nights over the new years day and therefore it was more expensive ($240/night including $30 for parking per day and $5 for wifi per day). But nevertheless a great stay and very friendly staff who gave a lot of tips!

spacious beautiful rooms, slightly dated

  • Dec 30, 2011
we were put in a suite, I'm pretty sure thats not what we paid for, it was well decorated with great furniture and very comfortable. The room was dated - old TV, fridgem fixtures, and generally in moderate repair, though the marble bathroom with old brass fixtures was very pretty. Overall, I would describe this as an old great hotel that needs some updating, but with a spacious room, was a great deal.

We had tickets to the football game on Sunday so we wanted a least expensive but nice hotel to stay that would be close enough to walk to the game and Bourbon street. This hotel was just what we needed....it was a great price, clean, staff was nice, and walking distance to Bourbon and Superdome. The only issue we had was waiting on the valet to bring our car, Next time we will go downstairs and ask them to get the car atleast 30 minutes before we want to leave.
