The room is okay, not that dirty as I expect, and the location is pretty good. Reasonable price for stay at there one night. The breakfast is mini though, only have eggs and breads. Pretty good place to stay there for one night

I stayed a night for my bday party and it was great. Location was amazing, you can walk to bars, mall and restaurants. One thing little annoyed us was we could hear people talking from next door.

We had a very nice stay. It was close and convenient to the convention center and we were able to enjoy the pool and whirlpool! Only complaint was the extra parking charges that were not clearly explained during checkout.

I stayed here for three nights to attend a course downtown. The room was very comfortable and spacious. It was a fairly short 10-15 minute drive downtown without any traffic since you do not have to get on the interstate. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again.

all things being said, spending the $156 was a decent value. the room was clean the place and not a bad size. being from illinois, i wasn't used to the indoor smoking and the lobby did smell from the smoke of the adjacent bar as well from the olive martini bar.
i did valet our car for $27 and expected to be able to leave from the game, get the car and go but 10s of people use the valet here so be ready to wait a while.

The staff was friendly, and helpful. The location of the Cantebury is excellent, right on Illinois St , connected to the City Center Mall; and within walking distance to all the restaurants, bars, Conseco Fieldhouse, etc. I really liked the historic feel of the hotel; my only suggestion would be replacing the beds. I'll definitely be staying at this hotel again in the very near future. Thanks to all the staff at the Cantebury for the great experience.

My wife and I have stayed here many times over several years. We love the look of the older hotel. It is beautiful. The rooms and hallways may seem small by today standards but the charm is worth it. The staff are always excellent and the location cannot be beat. Be sure to take advantage of the parking vallet service. Staff was really great, from giving me the option to self park to letting me leave my car an extra 12 hours at no cost, to being very friendly and helpful in general.
The only weird thing was that both the elevator and my room had a whiff of what smelled like body odor that hit you when you walked in and then gradually you got used to it. (and it wasn't me, I swear!)
It may have just been my room.
Otherwise, an excellent stay and if others haven't noticed the stink, then I'm guessing it was a one time oddity.

Conveniently located, near airport, but no shuttle bus to downtown which is 7 miles away was very inconvenient. The taxi charges so much, $20 each way, so $40 round trip plus tip!!!!

The JW Marriot Indianapolis is one of the nicest hotels I have ever visited. The staff was excellent and could not have been more attentive, friendly, or accommodating. Our room was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated.
The cons, however, were a slippery shower floor, strange odor on the 31st floor (very much akin to that of a school cafeteria), and parking in the hotel garage was rather expensive at $28 for one night (the garage across the street was only $10 and there was a sky bridge linking it to the hotel).
Despite the few unfavorable aspects of the hotel, I will surely stay at the JW Marriot during future trips to Indianapolis.

Hotel was very clean and modern. Loved the room and lobby. Staff was just ordinary nothing specail. Hotel food was ok - bakery items were really good. Dont buy the eggs off the menu unless you like eggs out of a carton. Otherwise, very nice place.

Finding the hotel was relatively easy and it was located in downtown Indianapolis. Although newly renovated, the carpet, wall paper, some of the furniture etc. The room was small yet the bed was comfortable. The sink did not drain properly yuck! Water remained in sink for more than fifteen minutes. Our room key did not work nor did the parking key as a matter of fact when we returned from our event at midnight; it was not a good feeling knowing people were honking their horns at us; $17.00 per night parking fee. We were right next to the elevator - it was quiet but we could hear the floor squeaking/creaking every time the person in the room above us walked. The age old ice machine complaint is real. That darn thing is loud! The employees were helpful and friendly but the cost of the stay was not worth it.

The staff here was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. We were here for the Indy 500 and the hotel was very accommodating. They offered theme oriented meals, prepared lunches to take to the track, and ice, water and sunscreen for those who needed it.
Overall, it was a pleasant stay and we would stay here again.

Very comfortable room with all the amenities. The only negatives were that the ice machine on our floor didn't work and the double doors leading from the lobby through the atrium to the elevator need to be automatic. Its very hard to handle luggage etc and manage doors.

Not a fan of the beds

One of the beds controller didn't register any numbers. We used the other one and just couldn't get it comfortable. I will never stay where they have these beds again. Also, it is frustrating to me that when making the reservation we weren't asked if we wanted a queen or king bed. We would have preferred a king bed not 2 queens.
We ate supper in the lounge and the food was very good.

Me and my husband attended the SADA concert on 7/8/11 and was really looking forward to it. The hotel bar was nice but the room was average. The ice machine was out of ice on two floors and the cable was out the first two hours of our arrival. Other than that the staff was helpful.

Clean, well-staffed, and a good facility for the price. Stayed with a group of 8 to 10 others, which made the newly-updated lobby very conveinent (for both group games and as a meeting area). The the indoor pool area, though somewhat on the small size, was adequate and clean. The same goes for the exercice room [2 treadmills, and eleyptical machine, and lots of free weights]. If you are so inclined, ask for one of the rooms with a balcony.

Honestly for what we paid for the hotel was not that bad. Ended up checking in pretty late which was absolutely no problem. The room was neat enough and the A/C worked which was all we needed. All in all for the one night we needed it, it worked.

clean and convenient - although for marathoners who need to get downtown early - their breakfast was not available and they were not even getting the cold items out at the posted time of 7am - disappointing given that we had expected to be able to grab a bagel and some fruit on the way out.

I was in IN for a family function.
The staff were friendly, I'd requested a late check out and was offered 2pm. Didn't need it aferall.
The bed was big and comfy, got a room with a nice view.
I thought breakfast was complimentary, but it was not had to pay about $8, it was worth it though.
Would stay again.

Nice, clean, quiet, comfortable bed. Elevators were very fast. Took a while to get a cab to Broad Ripple. Cost about $15 to get there.
