This was a great place to stay if you just need a place to stay. The beds were a little hard but not entirely uncomfortable. The breakfast was very basic but fresh and very good.
The walls were VERY thin though. So hope you don't have loud neighbors. The location was Great though-lots of restaurants and the mall were very close.
We stayed there when we went to visit Indiana University and for the price it was a good value. ITS GREAT IF YOU ONLY WANT A PLACE TO SLEEP, otherwise you somewhere else.

This motel was OK but really nothing special. Pool was not available/unusable, there was no elevator, no fridge/microwave in room, NOTHING is within walking distance or accessible by foot, the staff didn't know how to call a cab for me, the beds were not comfortable and the bedspread was dirty. The ice machine was also out of order! I expected a bit better from this place.

Good for what we needed

This was a hotel that was good for what we needed - a cheap room for homecoming. While we, my husband and I, wished it were closer to the campus (we had a long walk back to the room), it was a clean room, with a TV, microwave and mini fridge, though it did seem quite old and dingy.
The staff was wonderful - helpful, pleasant, and efficient.
Note you can't rent movies and there are limited channels, though that wasn't really why we got the room.
My biggest issue was probably the thinness of the walls. We woke up several times throughout the night to what seemed like someone speaking right out side our room (literally, outside, and we were on the 4th floor). I thought several times that someone knocked on our door, but it was neighboring rooms. If you are looking for a good night's sleep, this would not be my first choice.
However, we were very grateful for the excellent staff and cheap room to enjoy a night back in our favorite place with all our friends.

Good location New carpets. Beds on thrid floor comfortable, room clean bathtub yukky. Second floor smoking room was just that (we had 2 rooms) a smoking room needed more work. We all slept on 3rd floor in the 2 queen size beds.It should get better

Staff was responsive to my requests. Continental breakfast service is done very well. Staff always made certain that all breakfast items were well stocked for the guests. Hotel is walking distance to several nice dining establishments.

convenient location for family get togethers

Our daughter lives close to this hotel and so we have stayed here several times.The location is great, close to the walking trail into the centre of Bloomington, the farmers' market and Kirkwood where there are several restaurants. Our granchildren enjoyed the pool.
I was surprised though to find that the ground floor outside door was not kept locked after 10pm, and it was also not able to be locked. After reporting this I was glad to see that it was repaired -but not until the following morning I found housekeeping to be somewhat lacking because supplies for the room (coffee , coffee cups, tissues were not replaced the second night we were there. In a previous stay we found that there were pills on the floor in our room when we arrived. It is a shame that small details like this are missed by the housekeeping staff.

The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. With this type of hotel it would have been nice to have some sort of free breakfast included in the price. Other than that it was a very nice stay and will stay here in the future.

This was decent. I am wary of weekend hotel stays in college towns but good news- no surprises here, no issues here, safe clean and generally pleasant

Pleasant place, but lacking in caring for details, e.g. no soap in the room; no one at the main desk at 8AM for checkout; didn't appear that the restaurant was open in the evening (one could eat at the bar).

We were visiting for mom's weekend @ IU. The location is good but access is a little restricted due to road construction and it will be awhile before completion. The complimentary breakfast was above average and the room was very nice,nicer than we expected. The only complaint is the lawn mowing crew started very early and awoke us.There is free internet and a small work-out area.We stayed here because we were late in reserving [...]! I would stay here again. Everyone...guests and staff were nice and helpful.

We attended the Hilly Hundred bicycle ride that started in Ellettsville, 7 miles west. Except for the traffic on Route 46 getting into and out of the motel, it was great. The staff was very freindly and helpful with local restaurants. For our purpose, the motel was very handy and easy to get to. I would and have recommended it to anyone to stay there.

Overall the stay was fine. However, there was a weird musty smell to the hotel and the sheets were dirty. They did have a good breakfast though and the staff was friendly!

It's Scottish, Value or Amenities

It was a clean bed with a good shower in a decent location on one of the busiest weekends in IU football history. The big chains were booked up weeks & in some cases months in advance. The Scottish Inn is REAL AVERAGE, but it's all we needed, and we didn't pay more than we should have.
