The Shilo Inn had everything we needed. We so appreciated the 24 hour pool and hot tub, the free breakfast, and the fitness room! The coffee was the best! The waffle maker a real treat! The staff treated us like family and were very relaxed and friendly. We felt at home there.We liked the spacious rooms and long counter for putting my bathroom supplies on. Having a small kitchen area and fridge is a must for us and we loved having that too!

The hotel smelled funny, halls were dirty, no elevator, we had a non-somking room but others around us could smoke, giving a musty smell throughout the hotel, the television was terrible. The nightly charge was low and we got exactly what we paid for.

Whatever you do, don't get a 1st floor room - they are in the basement! That's right, outside is at eye level. I have stayed in Super 8 and Motel 6 hotels that were less depressing than this place - and a lot cheaper. If you are looking for a La Quinta like what you are used to, stay at the other one on Sherman - NOT THIS ONE!!

Location is right in the middle of everything CDA, with easy access to Post Falls, & Hayden.
We booked it as a vacation package with flight & car. Doing that made the price very affordable. If you are looking for first class luxury don't stay here. If you are looking for a clean affordable hotel close to everything this is a good choice. We stayed for 4 nights, and never had a problem. For the price we would have no problems staying here again.

We reserved the room at the Resort City Inn because we were looking for a decent price near the Lake. We were within walking distance to several local establishments and the river boat cruise (which was the purpose of our visit to Coeur d'Alene). For us, it was only a place to sleep, and we will stay here again next year when we take the river boat cruise again. If you are looking for anything more, then this might not be the place for you.

Having stayed at many Holiday Inns and hotels of similar class, I was really impressed by the number and quality of amenities this one had to offer. The staff were great - from the front desk staff to the ladies working the breakfast bar.
Only complaint was that housekeeping staff didn't come to clean our room after our first night there.

The hotel was located in a central area which was nice. The kids played in the pool for hours. The hot tub was extremely loud though, the water was coming in with too much pressure and the water was dirty.

Good location. This wasn't a fancy place but it was clean and well-maintained. The beds were surprisingly comfortable. The breakfast was unimpressive. My kids would have liked a pool but we chose not to pay more for a pool since we were going to Silverwood and the waterpark there. All in all we would stay there again but would request an odd numbered room so we wouldn't be facing the main road out front.

I had no complaints about the hotel. The room was clean, neat, and the staff was friendly and pleasant.
When I travel I often enjoy a walk (to a restaurant, etc.) and the only downside to the hotel is that it is in a newly developed business area that requires a car to get to the older part of the town.

A wonderful upgrade

when we arrived we were greeted with the news that we had been given an upgrade to a kitchenette suite. Right next door was a grocery store which went a long way to soothing the disappointment that the promise of room service availability wasn't there.

Mom and son vacation before college

I enjoyed the availability of the marina to park my boat. The only thing missing was the sunshine for two days. Rooms were very comfortable...my non-lake view had a great view of the mountains and lake.

love, love, love this resort. Was here 7 years ago with mu husband and fell in love with it. It is still a beautiful hotel with gorgeous views and friendly staff. The food at the Dockside restaurant was delicious and the drinks on the patio while listening to the entertainment were top- notch.

The front desk clerk was very helpful. She gave us a coupon for the texas road house. rooms were just remodeled and were clean.

Not bad, not extraordinary...just right. Rates were best in town, rooms were clean, pool nice but plain, kinda like the overall experience, good not great but for a motel 6 right at a highway interchange, and the price compared to other places in a resort town on a busy summer weekend, it was just right.

Not the greatest stay

The hotel was quiet, clean, and the staff was friendly but that as where the good ends. The beds were hard and pillows were extremely thin. The breakfast was in a tiny room and had almost nothing there, we ended up haveing to go out to eat every morning. The reception on the TV, with satalite was awful, it was so grainy that we couldn't stand to watch it even for the little bit we were in our room. To add to our frustration the water ran off and on all night making it difficult to sleep.
We will be traveling to this area frequently and we will NOT stay here again.
