We were visiting family with our pet it was relaxing knowing we did not have to ask someone to watch our small dog and was able to take him into the hotel. Only problem I had was ice machine was not working but that is not major. Asked for extra towels had them within 10-15 mins. Front desk very accommodating we arrived early and they were more than happy to check and see if a room was ready. They thought would take them about 1/2 hour so we were going to find something to do, but before we could get to our car they ran out the door and had a room ready. We had driven in from Indiana and was grateful for time to get into the room and relax a few minutes before going to family event. Was comfortable and an enjoyable experience. We were traveling with our children 21, 18, 25, and 26.

The hotel and room were lovely, clean, quiet and comfortable. We did not try the restaurant. Staff at check-in were maybe not as friendly as some but tried to be helpful. In recommending things around town it would be nice if they knew more about the city and could recommend local gems instead of chain restaurants. My husband and I are not interested in chain anything when we travel. Can get that at home!

Even though ours was a quick trip we enjoyed the location and it's close proximity to the mall and eating establishments. Bed was very comfortable. Didn't have time in the morning to enjoy more than a quick breakfast but the choices looked to be many.

wanted to try an extended stay motel, we only stayed overnight, it was a good test stay. we will look for similar motels for future stays of three or more days, the full kitchen would be handy for light lunches, snacks, and cold drinks.

I got what I paid for. However, considering my room had a kitchen and a couch, I got a little bit more for my money. However, the sheets lightly smelled like smoke, and the hallways reeked of cooked food. The front desk service was good, but I only interacted with them during my check-in/check-out.
I've stayed in better places, but I've also had a lot worse. The area is a commercial district with a nice resdential neighborhood nearby, so I felt pretty safe in the area. Very close are plenty of restaurants and a grocery store next to a mall.
The bottom line is it's a place to stay; nothing more.

The staff at the Sheraton are great. I forgot a document in my room and called from the airport to see if they could send or fax the contents to me. Housekeeping went to my room, found the document and promptly faxed it to me. All the staff are accommodating and cheerful. The hotel is comfortable, clean and modern.

My only reason for not giving 5 stars was that the initial description was misleading. It stated "many rooms with jacuzzi tubs." We however, got a tiny room with no jacuzzi. The room was very nicely appointed, but for $10 more through drury[@] we could have had a2 room suite or jacuzzi suite.

We stayed in Des Moines for the Nebraska - ISU football game. This was the closest we could get to Ames. The hotel was simply great. It was clean, tidy with very polite desk personnel. I would highly recommend this hotel. In addition the area it was in was quite and very clean.

Lots of different room options. Basic rooms with bed, chair and desk or suites with extras or large family sized rooms with kitchenettes, living and dining areas and extra bedrooms. Great shopping, dining and nightlife very nearby.

The first thing my husband said as we walked into the room was "It smells clean", which was such a pleasant change from most hotels. The room was attractive, plenty big for the 4 of us (2 adults, a 6 year old and a 2 year old) and very comfortable. The fairly soft bed was not great for my husband's bad back, but the rest of us slept fine!
The members of the staff were all very professional and attentive, although they were a bit slow in bringing extra towels.
As far as location is concerned, you can hardly get much closer to a great mall (Jordan Creek Mall) and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. There are also many shopping centers right around the area, so if you forget something, it's not far to go.
The only major complaint we had is the price of the food in the small restaurant in the lobby. A bowl of cereal (as in, you pour the box of cereal into the bowl) and a bottle of juice sets you back more than $6, which adds up fast. We know the area, so we just popped into a McD's.
Overall, we definitely will keep this one on the list of places to stay when we're in the area, as long as their room prices remain competitive and affordable.

It was a nice place to get away after a stressful week. Rooms were very nice and clean. it was quiet. The location of the hotel was excellent. Every place was within a short walking distance. Shopping, Dining, Entertainment, Convenience.

overall it was disapointing at best. No cups in room except the stirafoam coffee cups. Front desk said they do not offer plastic cups. Pretty tacky. I have stayed at some lower rated hotels that at least gave you plastic cups. The Guest book listed items on menu for CBF on was Jimmie Dean Breakfast Sandwich. No where to be seen. Asked for an extra blanket, 2 hrs later when called back all out. More but no room won't go back or rec. to others

Nice motel. Great location and very clean. Breakfast was picked over with the poor kid trying to keep up with the demand. We had to wait until more food was brought out including the coffee. He should have had more help. He tried to do the best he could.

The bed in our room sagged on the side. Unless you slept in the middle of the be you felt like you would roll onto the floor. Everything else at this hotel was great, Nice living area in our room and a great pool for the kids. Great location with easy acess to I-80 and I-35. Within walking distance of the mall and restraunts without a lot of traffic noise.

Our stay at Staybridge Suites in Des Moines was wonderful. Friendly staff, clean oversized suites and the indoor pool was open 24/7 which was a bonus for our nine year old. We didn't have to rush to get back to the hotel so she could get her pool time in, as we often have to do while staying at other hotels.

Check in was efficient. Room was a value. Room was on the north side of hotel, backed up to I80 so some road noise. Other than that I would stay at this location again. Was not looking for amenities, only location.
