The service was amazing. They were very kind and the steakhouse was delicious. We ended up staying an extra night and upgraded to a poolside room with a hot tub my kids were in heaven. The front desk was definitely aiming to please. We will for sure be back to stay here it was a nice quiet get away. The only negative aspect we asked for more pillows but they didn't have any available.

OK, that's not saying much, but still... The room was clean and comfortable, the continental breakfast is decent and the pool is very nice.

My wife and I recently stayed at the AmericInn in Fort Dodge and had a very nice stay.
Room was nice, clean and in an easy to get to location, being close to the elevator.
The small bar next to the front desk was a hoot (60's decor) and with buy one-get one free, a nice surprise. (Don't know if this is an everyday thing or if it was just because there were so many reunion folks staying there).
The staff were excellent - very nice and friendly.
Next time we visit Fort Dodge we will definitely stay at AmericInn!

Staff was very friendly and helpful, even allowed early checkin. Room was cold and motel isn't close to restaurants, shopping, hospital, or town; it is pretty secluded, if you like that. Say they accept pets,but do not advertise the extra fee for pets in the rooms. Fee isn't extravagant, but they should advertise this fee. Also, not all rooms have a refrigerator, you pay alot extra for a room with one. Would rather have the refrigerator than the hairdryer and ironing board since the motel is so far away from any restaurants other than fast food.

I like the fact that there was a an exit door from the hotel room. However, it was only an exit and could not enter the room from the street. I did not like how I had to push the front door to the room really hard to close. Almost all the doors were hard to close that I encountered.
