Hotel room was small, but very clean. The mattress on the couch bed was a little uncomfortable. I awoke with a back ache each morning. A/C in the room was fantastic. The the location is fantastic. Well worth the money except next time I will book two double beds instead of one queen/ one sofa sleeper.

I had a great vacation and my room was nice. The bed was comfy, the Lanai was great, the employees were friendly and the club downstairs was packed! My one complaint is that it wasn't made clear to me until after I already booked my trip that room service did NOT include food room service even though there was a restaurant downstairs. I was looking forward to the convenience. Overall it suited my needs and was close enough to the water without being too surrounded by tourists.

Not bad for the price!

Over all the stay was average. We would return for the value that you get for the price, rooms were clean, tidy and great water pressure for showers. The only withdrawl is no coffee makers in the room, you have to go down to the check in/out area by the pool. It is close to everything! which is great. The Zoo is right next door and it is wonderful! Staff are average- Great Tiki Bar. Great value for your money.

Everything was very neat and well prepared. The swimming pool was very good too. The location was excellent for catching busses and we could walk to Waikiki Beach, The Aquarium, and The Zoo. Of course we spent quite a bit of time at the International Market which is also walking distance. It was fun to come home and look at al the lovely items purchesed while in Honolulu. I would have liked to have a Microwave in the room but that was not provided unless we changed rooms. It was a very happy experience!

We have just returned from staying in Outrigger Luana and have to say how pleasantly surprised we were with the quality and location of this hotel. The hotel is only a short walk from the center of Waikiki and a pleasant 10 minute walk through a park to the beach. We found the staff very knowledgeable about the area and keen to help with any questions. One nice touch is the drinks machine in reception which contains iced water with fruit in which is very welcome after a day out in the hot sun.

We wanted to be in Honolulu for one night and picked the Aqua Lotus from the list on the Orbitz hotel suggestions after booking our flight. We received a great discount on the price, but not a discount on the room comfort and staff attention. The Aqua Lotus is a good walk from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, which was what we wanted. Diamond head was right out our window and the ocean was just a few steps from the front door of the hotel. We only stayed one night in this hotel, before moving on to another island. But if we were staying on Oahu longer, the Aqua Lotus would be the hotel we'd choose. You'll love it...promise!

For the money this was great as was the staff we had a great time and the hotel was right across the street from the beach. I would recommed the beach view it is worth the additional expense. please note is further East on the Waikiki beach area so it would be 15 minutes to walk towards the Hilton. We spent 4 days there it might not be enough unless you just stay in downtown Honolulu We rented a car as I was stationed on the island during the Vietnam war so went to visit old haunts on the north shore the suf was so high in that area they canceled the Sunset beach surfing contests. The prices for food are not that expensive the drinks might be. Also you should check out the internet on the resturants that will help out a lot. The island might be small but a lot of the roads around the island are two lane with no passing so plan on at least a day trip around the island. If I had more time I would have traveled around the East half and West half of the island

The hotel is the oldest high rise in Waikiki but they have kept it up and still do. Room is large with kitchen; check in and concierge is on 2nd floor, a little unusual. They try to get you to go to vacation club presentation which is pretty intense and certainly more than 90 min. that they claim :(. Being close to Hilton Village is a plus; lots of things to see and do there.

This was our first time in hawaii and at the waikiki marina resort. Would have given 5 stars but accomodation by staff was lacking. It was all in all a great experience. The location was excellent, next to alo moana shopping center, restaurants and walking distance to everything like the international marketplace. Safe to walk at night and next to hilton lagoon and the fireworks at the hilton on the weekends. Space in rooms are big has everything you need. The only thing lacking was the front desk staff going the extra mile for their customers but if you don't need anything from them other than staying at the hotel then it is a great place. Find out for yourself but it is for families and budget friendly since you have the amenities of home and located close to everything. We had a memorable experience in hawaii and will definately be back.

Wonderful vacation

  • Beaches Girl
  • Jan 25, 2012
We stayed at this Hotel 7 nights. Staff was very helpful, room was super clean. Its is right on the beach and you have easy access to trolley, taxi's and the city bus. Only two things I didn't love is they have a $25.00 per day charge after you get there. It covers breakfast and all local phone calls but they had removed the phone books in our room?? The breakfast was really good but it was the same food each day. I would have liked more choices. The pool is the other thing. You are expected to go down at 7:00 each morning and get your pool chair. Many chairs had towels on them but no one showed up all day to use them. Many people did not have access to a chair because of this. They had chairs on the beach for $25.00 per day. Other than that it was a great experience. I will go back again. the property is beautiful. They had music under the banion tree that was fun too.

Love this location and the infinity pool is so relaxing. We enjoyed the view from the pool and the sunset. The room is average but there were some problems with the hair dryer its old & broken and I had to hold the button up the whole time I was trying to blow dry my hair. The hotel bathroom needs some updating with the amenities.

The hotel was great in every aspect, so glad I chose it for our trip. The location couldn't have been better, everything was within walkable distance, and it's right across from the beach. Nothing beats that-especially with an ocean view room! The staff was friendly. Just one problem, more than half of the staff was on strike while we were there, so it was noisy and inconvenient to get around the hotel entrance. During our stay, the room didn't get clean as often as expected either, the price should've been discounted for us. If we were traveling at a different time, I'm sure we wouldn't have much to complain about.

Stayed here 3 nights and loved it. It was quiet and comfortable. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel, so you can easily get around. Hilton Hawaiian Village with restaurants/stores and a beach is across the street. You can easily take the bus to Waikiki beach, Ala Moana shopping center (good food court & so many stores) and beach there. I took the bus to Kailua beach too, though it's kinda far. Another time I'd rent a car at one of the rental car places within two blocks. Family-friendly area. I arrived in the morning, but the front desk staff kept my luggage and later let me check in 4 hours early. They were helpful with everything. I liked the workout room and laundry rooms. Pool was small, but I mostly went to beaches. The concierge arranged a $9 return shuttle to the airport. The hotel let me stay an hour beyond check-out time and stored my luggage in the afternoon before my flight. Was glad I chose this hotel!

We booked a full ocean view room with kitchenette. Was a bit apprehensive when we entered the hotel as the lobby and lift were pretty dated. The room was newly done and we could view the ocean between the two Hyatt Regency hotel buildings. Location of this hotel is very good - almost all tour operators pick up from Hyatt that is 2 minutes walk away. Our room had a small balcony just enough to fit the chair so we would have our morning tea viewing the ocean. Could not keep the sliding door open while sleeping because of the traffic noise. Kitchenette was good with sufficient number of pots and pans. Wish they could include a medium size microwavable bowl. Housekeeping service was good - the beds were made everyday and the towels replaced. We did not use the DVD rental etc. facility - no point in being a couch potato when you are right on the ocean. So did not utilize the $10/day resort fee. My only complain is they charge an exorbitant $20/day for parking. The parking slots are very small and you see the towing trucks doing regular rounds of the garage. Also you need to pay everyday to extend your parking time. We parked at Waikiki Banyan and got a great deal $60/ 7 days and we could pay at once for 7 days. Overall a good experience with this place and would return again but park elsewhere :-).

When I arrived they could not find my reservation, which had been made through and confirmed by a well known travel site (O). There was a long wait, but they did find a room. Area is very commercial/industrial but close to airport and very convenient if that is a priority. The room was fine, very clean, good value. On-premises restaurant not open every day.

Great location on Waikiki with 1-block walk to one of the World's best beaches. I did a lot of snorkeling here and saw an octopus, angel fish, moorish idols, humuhumunukunukuapua'a, plus many others. My husband plays "Aloha Santa" on the beach much to the delight of many international travelers. We both like to people-watch and there is no other place quite like Waikiki Beach.

We spent one night at the Waikiki Resort Hotel and everything was positive. From the 17th floor we had a balcony and ocean view. The room was very clean, the bathroom was recently renovated and modern. Staff very nice and helpful. Great location only 1 block from the famous shopping strip and 2 blocks from the beautiful beach. Anyone in a hotel in Waikiki should realize that if your hotel window is open, noise from the street can be a problem. From the 17th floor we slept fine; but you can always close the window and use air conditioning. All around pleasant stay.

our experience at Outrigger Reef On The Beach was as good as we could have asked for. We chose to have breakfast vouchers as a part of our package and were very impressed with both the Ocean restaurant and the pool restaurant. The buffet at the Shorebird, while nice, was nothing spectacular. Selection day-to-day saw no change. Our room and bed, in particular, was outstanding. Our ocean view had Diamondhead and the ocean, which was wonderful for January for a couple of Wisconsin residents. Would repeat at Outrigger Reef On The Beach should we return to Oahu.

This hotel is located near the beach and shopping. The staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was very clean. The beds were very uncomfortable. The noise from the garbage trucks early every morning was annoying but not the fault of the hotel. I feel for the money we paid the hotel was very adequate. Parking was $15.00 a day and I felt this a little high. We had four friends in the same room and were only a little cramped. Kitchen area was very helpful and saved us some money.

The RH has its own beach chained off with beach boys to set up your umbrella and towels very convenient, when you see the public beach in front of you packed with people carrying chairs and umbrellas for blocks. The food was excellent especially breakfast. I saved the best for last the staff was wonderful, so sweet and nice it was like visiting your favorite aunt. This was our fourth trip to Hawaii.
