We go to Oahu for weekends . We were surprised at how much we like hotel . The value was good but the room a bit small . There is an extra $ 10 charge per day for DVD rentals and breakfast buffet , added to your bill. There is no coffee maker in room as there is buffet breakfast. But it is very convient .

I feel that Ambassador Hotel is a great place to stay as far as location and price. It doesn't come with a lot of amenities, but it didn't matter. My main objective was to get out and enjoy the weather, beaches, sun, etc. Great place to stay!

My husband and I needed a one or two night stay in order to avoid the morning rush hour traffic coming into Honolulu as I had an all day workshop at this very hotel. We checked in the night before. The front desk upgraded our room; it was spacious and clean. We did not use the hotel amenities. It is within a block of the beach. Lots of shopping and restaurants are available. The parking fee is one of the most reasonable to be found in Waikiki.

From the first contact at the front desk to check out, the staff was excellent. We were upgraded for free to an Ocean View room which was nice. The staff was extremely polite and professional. Parking was free, and we were able to use beach towels, snorkel gear, rafts etc. all for free (a nice and useful touch). Also, the hotel is about 100 meters from the beach, and the surrounding shops are great. The staff even allowed us to check out a little later at no extra charge. If I go back to Waikiki, I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

The Ala Moana has allot to to offer for the price. It is not in the heart of Waikiki but yet directly next to the Ala Moana Mall, which is an amazing place.
I stayed in the Kona Tower and paid about $99 per night. The room is remodeled, clean and comfortable but there is no view or lani (balcony). For me, it was a room and cost which was good for 4 nights (I was on business).
The staff is excellent, friendly and helpful if needed.

We paid a little more to stay at this hotel because of its location near the mall. We enjoy being able to eat at the different resturants and shop at our convenience. The rooms are comfortable and satisfy our needs for sleeping. The only problem was the TV system. While watching a show it would revert back to the main screen. This was a little annoying.

Location! That, along with the super friendly staff is what makes this hotel a great stay for the value! A few blocks around the corner and you'll find yourself in the international food market. A few streets down and you'll be burying your feet in Waikiki Beach! Every morning you'll be greeted by friendly front desk staff. The room was pretty average, nothing spectacular. The room was clean everytime we got back to the hotel. No breakfast and no swimming pool, but a great value if all you need is a place to stay for a few days.

We needed a room for a couple of days while we checked out Pearl Harbor. Coming from peaceful Maui, staying in chaotic Waikiki was an unpleasant shock. However, once we got used to the horrible traffic and cramped feel, we saw that there are many good local eateries nearby and International Marketplace to buy last minute gifts is almost across the street. The hotel itself is clean, staff is nice and helpful. Lots of street noise on our side, paid extra for balcony that had no view. Parking is $20 daily and more often that not you will end up in overflow parking 3 blocks away which is a hassle when you're exhausted after a day sightseeing.

Endless honeymoon
- Nov 27, 2012
The view from our room looked like a postcard. One tower faces a beach and marina the other faces Diamond head. Try to book on the upper floors as you can to see more. The restaurants looked great though we never tried them. There was so much to try all around the hotel we got side tracked. The sand at the closer beaches was a bit coarse but the still nice. The shuttle takes you to Waikiki if you don't mind a few more people. The beach wasn't that crowded and not at all pretentious. It is a good spot. Close to restaurants bars and lots of young people who manage to be very unobtrusive. If you plan on doing any activities there is a concierge desk to take advantage of. Tasha was spot on with our bookings.

The Location of the hotel is absolutely perfect. Right in the middle of axtion. And right by the beach.. We got a room at the diamond wing. they tried to move us to the tower, which has a great view if you are located on the right side. The room they upgraded! us to was not.. But we told them we didn't want that room and they moved us back to the Diamond deluxe room which we had booked to begin with. The diamond deluxe wing is an old building, and the rooms do feel a little old but the view makes it worthwhile. The do need to renovate some part of the hotel othervise the value is simply too much..

Great stay in Waikiki

- Dec 8, 2012
I stayed at this hotel while on trip to Waikiki Beach in Oahu. Hotel was easy to find by bus and you get dropped off right at the corner. You are welcomed with cool towels and pineapple juice.
The room with double bed is a little small and the rooms are decorated in modern décor but there is some wear and tear on walls. The cleaning staff prepares your room to immaculate condition everyday. Toiletries are excellent. Major flaw is lack of minirefrigerator in room in the room. Instead you have a beverage cooler but you will probably have a lot of leftovers after eating out in Waikiki everyday.
The breakfast also only consists of breads and wish it included other things like fruits or cereals. The lady who runs the breakfast bar is very friendly and helpful. And the kona coffee and pineapple juice are delicious.
The location is excellent at this end of Waikiki because its a few steps walk to the beach and is close to ABC store and multiple restaurants. You can head out and walk the length of Waikiki strip and even walk to Diamond Head crater.

This was a very nice hotel near the beach. The room is nicely decorated but on closer inspection it was not perfect. A few of the fluorescent lights in the bathroom were dim. Also the automatic light controller did not seem to work correctly. Overall it was a great hotel though and we really enjoyed our time there.

Everything about our stay at the Aston Wakiki Beach Tower was great. We were scheduled to stay on the 29th floor, which had agreat view but were offered a penthouse on the 37th floor and it was worth the relatively small increase in the rate. Every suite has a lanai facing Wakiki beach but the higher floors will be unobstructed so the higher the better. The elevators were fast so it was not a pain. The staff is friendly and helpful. Beach towels were provided and the room has a washer and dryer, which is helpful. Furnished kitchen allows you to eat in when you want. Wakiki Beach is just across the street and all the shopping and restaurants of Wakiki are an easy walk, as well as the zoo and aquarium. Will definitely stay here again.

Just steps away from the fun and frantic chaos of Waikiki Beach, the Royal Hawaiian is a soothing oasis out of the past. It's easy to imagine yourself back in 1927, in the days before cell phones and email and when the only interruption might be a letter from back home or a waiter delivering a refreshing Mai Tai as you sit in one of the big rocking chairs on the veranda facing the tranquil Royal Grove, And if you crave something a little more lively, the Sheraton Waikiki is just steps away with a younger, hipper clientele - not to mention a Peet's Coffee shop with great coffee and the freshest fruit cup imaginable for a light beach side breakfast.

Just a corner away from Wikiki Beach. Across the street in front of the hotel, we found a market place where hundreds of souvenir shops and a food court can be found:-) And at the side of the hotel, there is a supermarket where we used to buy some foods to cook in the room. In the room, there are a microwave, some plates, silvers, a pot, a pan, a refregirator, and two stoves.

The only thing I didn't like is that there was no door between room and sink in the bathroom, though there was one for shower and toilet.

This Hotel was excellent. Bedroom, Parking, and Pool were all great and convenient. Went here on our honeymoon, and enjoyed every second of it. Memorable experience me and my wife cherish to have again and again.

Hotel was clean, staff was friendly (concierge was very helpful). I've stayed at other Sheraton hotels before so i knew it would be nice. Few comments-Breakfast buffet prices are higher than other hotels and the birds flying around was a huge appetite killer. Other than that, for an older hotel it was a pleasurable stay.

I'd like to give much point into their service. They gave me free champagne and room change for my honeymoon. Room was also very clean and my wife showed satisfaction about the quality.
Only negative points were... shower booth was clogged and coffee pot did not work well..

Our experience at the Aston Wikiki Banyan was awesome the hotel was good a little out dated. We got married there and bought both of our kids. The room was good. The only thing we did not like was the master bedroom just had sliding doors not a actual door and the bathroom was in the bedroom awkward. Overrral we had a blast and the wedding was beautiful. The staff was friendly and the room was kept clean. Would stay there again :)

Wasn't crazy about it

The pool was nice and good access to the beach, but the hotel is pretty far from the main part of Waikiki, so you need to drive or take a bus there. There's not too much nearby, in terms of restaurants or shops, and the hotel didn't include breakfast or a microwave oven, so we needed to go out for all of our meals. Even the small refrigerator was actually a "chiller", so it wasn't cold like a refrigerator. Valet parking at $29/night was pricey, but luckily they told us about the lot across the street for $20/night, which was just as convenient. I especially didn't like the shutters that are used for the bathrooms, as there's little privacy!

Hotel was nice but if you book a road-side room in the front of the hotel you will not sleep. Seems to be a very popular club in the hotel that empties onto the street at 4:00am...NEVER heard such screaming, yelling, things thrown, etc. The hotel said they get a lot of complaints and they moved us higher but it was still unbearable. If you can't get poolside you will have a problem...especially on the weekend.
