great location, near great places to eat and shop.

  • Nov 12, 2012
Stayed there when we lived in Hawaii, had a several family gatherings there. We held my brother inlaws wedding reception there.Had several friends stay there, and our company christmas party there. This time the main resturant was being renivated and under construction. We were shocked that so much construction, and road paving was going on street parking was limited, access in and around the Hotel was a terrible. Traffic noise from the paving of the roads around the Hotel was unbearible during the the morning to evening hours. We wished we would have been alerted to all the construction, paving, road work, and renevation at the Hotel, prior to arriving there. My wife and I are disabled and choose that Hotel because we had enjoyed there in the past. I know the next time I will call the Hotel and ask what up before we book our reservations. My Bad, look before you leap.

Roaches, Roaches

  • EC Business Traveler
  • May 24, 2010
I just returned from a 3-night stay at the Executive Center. Pros: 1. I love the location with close proximity to downtown Honolulu. I was glad to away from all the crowd in Waikiki. 2. Rooms were spacious with small kitchenette, dining table, and separate bedroom. Now comes the bad news: the unit I stayed had roaches in the bathroom and its window rattled each time wind blew. I'm not sure if the windows weren't properly sealed, but I couldn't sleep well with all the howling wind and windows rattling each time. And do I need to elaborate on roaches?! I was told the condotel had full occupancy and could not give me a renovated unit. I'm not sure if renovated unit would solve the roach issue, but if you must stay in the downtown area, I'd definitely insist on newer units.

The rooms were spacious and clean. The room was outdated and could use some updating but was otherwise. The downtown location allowed us to explore some of Honolulu while still allowing us to be near the airport for our flight to Maui the next day. The free breakfast was very basic with bread, few pastries, juice and coffee.

Perfect for the two of us!

  • Oni1
  • Sep 23, 2012
The Aqua Lotus is quietly situated away from the busy Waikiki strip. But, you can still enjoy the strip after a short 10 min walk. It is located near the beautiful Kaimana beach, where I frequently swam as a child. The staff was friendly and helpful. The morning coffee and tea, and evening wine in the lobby was very convenient. The room was simple but elegant. The view of Diamond Head and Waikiki beach was a double whammy! The only thing that would have made our stay better was more reasonably priced eating spots nearer to the hotel. We would definitely return to the Aqua Lotus and recommend it to others.

Staff were very good. the hotel is small and people are made to feel as if they are part of a family. Great free wine for happy hour in the lobby. Free coffee in the morning, as well as a coffee maker in the room. Views are great. Diamond head and the ocean, park is across the road. Waikiki shell is in the park. lots to do and only a very short walk to the main shops. Beach is one of the best and not crowded like waikiki. I will stay in this gem of a hotel again. Favorate so far, and I come every year.

Convenient but fatally flawed

  • Barrykade
  • Jul 5, 2012
The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room has some useful extras, like a microwave and small fridge. The beds are comfortable, but the place really needs some good double glazed windows. The hotel sits right on the triple-decker roadway that is the Nimitz highway and H1 elevated highways, and the acoustics are perfect for broadcasting vehicle noises.

When I arrived they could not find my reservation, which had been made through and confirmed by a well known travel site (O). There was a long wait, but they did find a room. Area is very commercial/industrial but close to airport and very convenient if that is a priority. The room was fine, very clean, good value. On-premises restaurant not open every day.

Description
Waikiki’s beachfront Gold Coast getaway Cradled between Diamond Head Crater, Kapiolani Park and the sparkling sea, the boutique Kaimana is one of the few hotels on Waikiki's exclusive Gold Coast. Although less than a mile from central Waikiki, the area offers the peace and tranquility of neighborhood Hawaii and one of Waikiki's most stylish stretches of sand. The hotel's signature open-air Island restaurant, the Hau Tree Lanai, is a longtime favorite of residents. Book an oceanfront room and marvel at the seascape before you. Dining The Kaimana's signature restaurant is the Hau Tree Lanai, a beachfront outdoor patio beneath a historic native hau tree. Island dishes are served breakfast through dinner, with special emphasis on local ingredients and preparations. Upstairs and offering a remarkable ocean view is Miyako, a Japanese restaurant that attracts many of the hotel's Japanese guests. The Sunset Lanai Lounge is perfect for a drink and appetizer. Rooms Room décor is muted and simple in hints of rattan and floral, with wall-to-wall glass doors leading to private balconies. All rooms include complimentary Wi-Fi. Book within the main wing of the hotel, where an oceanfront room delivers a multi-hued panorama in virtual 3-D effect. At the open-air lobby, take advantage of valet-only parking (fees apply) and 24-desk service. Location The Gold Coast is an exclusive residential enclave marking the eastern end of Waikiki. Framed by sea, sky and parkland greenery, it's one of Honolulu's most coveted addresses. Only three hotels have locked in this location, and only the Kaimana has a beachfront setting. Reach Central Waikiki by foot in about 15 minutes along the beach park walk. Both the city bus and the Waikiki Trolley stop near the hotel. More secluded and romantic

  • Elizzerbeth
  • Nov 24, 2012
I enjoyed that this hotel was a little ways away from the popular Waikiki Beach area because I was looking for a more secluded spot. It is also right next to a beautiful park area where a lot of people were running, biking, and walking. The beach is small, but you can always walk to Waikiki if you want a bigger beach experience. The view of Diamondhead from our window on the 6th floor was fantastic. The Hau Lanai restaurant was absolutely expensive, but the portion sizes were hearty, everything tasted delicious, and it's location right on the beach with the waves crashing in the background was very romantic.

Airport Hotel

The Airport Hotel is great location for catching the early morning flights. The staff was pretty helpful. The only complaint I have is the access to outlet plugs to charge phones or tablets. I had to move the bed to access the one closes to the bed. Other than that the room was worth the money for an over night stay.

The hotel served its purpose - close by the airport. It was nice and had a pretty nice pool area. It's a pretty long cab ride to Waikiki (about $35), so be prepared for that if you're planning on going to that area. You need to call the hotel from the airport for their shuttle bus to pick you up.
