The lobby was nice and breakast was great. The rooms were somewhat dated, and could use some updated carpeting. The bed was decent, but the pillows were kind of meh. The biggest downside was the gym...it was below average at best.

Disappointed with the cleanliness of the hotel. Carpets were dirty. My bed sheet had what appeared to be a blood smear toward the foot of the bed. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.

Central Location

  • MGayle
  • Jan 10, 2012
We chose this hotel because it was a central location to everything that we planned to do that weekend. Everything was in walking distance so it was very convenient. The only complaint I have is that it took forever to check in. They only had two people working at the desk and there was a convention in town, so it seemed to me that they should have had more people working to move the line quicker. The line just kept getting longer and longer and was very inconvenient to everyone passing through the lobby.

THE HOTEL ITSELF WAS NICE. NOTHING TOO SPECIAL BUT IT WAS CLEAN AND IT SERVED ITS PURPOSE. IT HAS A GREAT LOCATION AND COSTS LESS THAN OTHER HOTELS IN THE SAME AREA. THE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST WAS MORE THAN I EXPECTED. EGGS, WAFFLES, BAGLES, FRUIT, ETC MADE TO A GREAT START TO THE DAY. THE HOSTESS FOR BREAKFAST WAS PHENOMENAL. SHE WAS EXTREMELY NICE AND WENT OUT OF HER WAY TO REFILL OUR DRINKS AND CLEAR OUR TABLES FOR US. SHE MADE US FEEL LIKE WE WERE AT A 5 STAR RESTAURANT. OVERALL THE EXPERIENCE WAS GREAT AND I WOULD DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN!

Lobby and restaurant pretty good, but the room needed some care; carpet dirty, walls kinda dirty and beat up. Maybe a fresh coat of paint would help. The bathroom and other rooms were orderly and cleaned, but still it felt banged up for being a Marriott. Otherwise, the hotel staff and the place was inviting.

I posted a previous review about my stay at the Days Inn Atlanta. After I read my review, I noticed so many typeooooo's, errors and sentence structure. And this was partly due to the poor lighting at this hotel--i just could not see well. I hope that this particular post is presented along with the original. I just did not want to appear as someone that did not care about the errors presented in a posting. Along with that, do not want to loose credibility in my experience.

We stayed at the Hyatt during the Passion 2012 Conference at the GWCC and Dome. It was easy walking distance from the hotel 15-20 minutes. The view was nice and the room had everything we needed. The concierge recommended a local restaurant and even gave us a coupon for free dessert. The only complaint we have is the EXPENSIVE PARKING! $29+tip. The valet would not give my husband our car keys until we had given him a tip.

The hotel is beautiful! Decorated nicely with lots to do inside and outside the hotel. Good loation and very nice rooms.. The only complaint is about the shower. It took a really long time for the water to get hot and the inside liner wasn't long enough so the bathroom floor stayed dangerously wet but other that it was great

My husband and I were very pleased with this hotel. The decor and atmosphere was very nice especially in the lobby area. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and decorated very trendy; however, they were small. The floor to ceiling windows looking over the city provided a spectacular view. We were impressed by the night club at the hotel - the staff was great and the club had a great ambiance - but were disappointed that it had no dance floor. Overall we were pleased with our stay and would come again even though it is more expensive than other hotels in the area.

Overall stay was very nice and pleasant. The only bad part of the stay is that the walls are very thin, I could hear other guest opening and closing their doors all night and sometimes it would cause my door to rattle as if someone was knocking on the door, even got up once during the night to answer the door but it was someone next door coming in.

This trip was a Christmas present to my boyfriend who is a HUGE Georgia Tech Fan. We are from PA and I knew very little of Atlanta. This hotel is close to everything. We never had to take a taxi. We took the Marta subway which has two stops near the hotel. The rooms were large and the beds were so comfortable. I'm actually looking into buying the same mattress they had at the hotel. I have stayed at other 4 star hotels and this one definitely shines above the others. I would highly reccommend. Also, it is reasonably priced.

Awesome View!

  • null
  • Oct 3, 2011
The view is AMAZING! All of downtown Atlanta can be seen from the upper floors (we stayed on the 65th). You can even see mountains on the horizon. The location is great, as all the attractions are within walking distance or just a short train ride away. The train station is less than a block away. Dining at the hotel's Sundial restuarant was also a unique experience. The food, service and spinning/panoramic view were all great. To address areas of improvement, an update of room decor is in order. We asked to switch rooms for that reason, and staff was happy to oblige. However, the change of rooms they offered was not much different in terms of quality. The view was not as good, so we stayed put. We did have noisy neighbors late one night, but security addressed the issue right away. I would love to see this hotel updated, but I'd definitely stay again.

Nice for price

Quaint and comfy inn with small breakfast: bagels, whole wheat muffins, blueberry muffins, banana muffins, cream cheese, several different cereals and fresh fruit, accompanied by coffee, 2 % milk and orange juice. Nice, older and safe neighbourhood for walking, with shops, restaurants, movie theater, etc.; only about 2.6 miles from downtown Atlanta. City bus runs in front of the inn. Inn was build in the 1920 th and has exposed pipes running below ceiling (we heard no knocking in pipes), small but adequate shower with commode, vintage discolored sink in room. Hot water available within seconds. Inn has no elevator to second floor. Free parking. Very friendly staff. Entire inn is nonsmoking. Beds were satisfactory. Window air conditioners worked well. Heater in room did not warm up too well, but room came with electric radiator heaters which worked great and heated rooms well. The room had a small refrigerator and a small wall mounted TV. Due to buildings age and settling, our room doors had a one inch gap on bottom. Light shines through from hall outside. There are outside stairs to inn entry door. We did not see a handicap ramp. The inn smelled and looked clean, was quiet day and night and a really good bargain for the total of $ 49 per night for two people. We stayed two nights and had no complaints. Several times we stayed at higher priced and much newer hotels and experienced dirty rooms, unfriendly staff, broken air conditioner and even bugs. We enjoyed our stay at the Highland Inn and plan to go back in a few month. We highly recommend this inn to anyone who does not want to pay a kings ransom, but still have a decent room. And for pet owners, you can bring them with you to this inn. For those on a budget: parking downtown Atlanta can add up. Park houses charge up to $ 10 for up to two hours and $ 25 for all day.. Parking lots offer short term parking up to two hours for $ 5. Also early bird parking in by 9AM out by 6PM for $ 5. All day parking ranges from $ 3 to $ 8, depending on how close you want to park to the down town area. Curb side parking meters cost about $ 2 per hour until 10 PM.

A nice alternative at a great rate

The Artmore is a converted former 1920s-era apartment building in which the original architectural elements have been maintained. The staff is exceptionally pleasant and accommodating, even the maintenance guy who was on the elevator with us. All seem to really take pride in the property. My only disappointments were: 1) the room was quite tiny but still comfortable, 2) each and every item in the in-room kitchenette costs a fortune, even $2 for a single cup of coffee, 3) the breakfast (small buffet of scrambled eggs, really bad sausage links and grits along with standard fare like fruits, breads, cereals, was $10 per guest----way overpriced and these days, always offered complimentary by most hotels, 4) parking on site (underneath building in extremely cramped quarters) was $18 per day. In summary, the affordable cost of the room was offset by these other fees and charges. I would still recommend this hotel as it was a delightful alternative to the chains, especially as presented with upbeat and smiling professional staff!

The location of the Hotel is nice. Perfect, location if you want to walk to the High Museum. The Marta is also pretty much accross the street so your access to public transportation is near. The hotel itself is very clean and the staff is very helpful. There always seems to be something going on at the hotel in the courtyard or bar. If you like to relax and people watch pull up a seat and relax.

Great hotel to stay in, beautiful architecture in and out, and neat history. Located downtown opposite Fox Theater. Convenient to tourist sites such as the Georgia Aquarium (fantastic) and the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Rooms completely updated in a contemporary, minimalist style, flatscreen TVs with satellite. Only wish there was a safe in the room. Livingston, their restaurant, serves some excellent dinner meals. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved this hotel's rooms and location. The service angle seems a little rough around the edges, but not awful. 5-10 minute wait for anyone to show up at front desk for check-in. No parking passes available so we were told to just park and not to worry about it, and come back later for a pass. (I didn't like having to worry I would come back and find the car booted, even though it didn't happen. Waffle batter dispenser not working at breakfast. These are all little things but left me with a feeling that service is not their top priority. My biggest problem was the lack of wireless internet. There was a cable for wired internet in the room, but that doesn't work for modern equipment, especially smart phones. They didn't lie about it or anything...it's just that these days one expects in-room wireless at a hotel in this price range. The room was huge, clean and comfortable, otherwise. Note that some of the reviews reference the gigantic radio tower next door. It is now being dismantled. That's not a problem, but just know that "find the hotel from anywhere" landmark is about gone as of fall 2010.

We liked the unusual decor and music/theater theme. The hotel was very clean and appealing. High quality and good taste. GLBT friendly. The restaurant breakfast was surprisingly inexpensive; the portions were moderate instead of huge, which pleased us. My only discomfort was that the window air handler cycled very cold air in my face on that side of the bed -- not unusual for hotels, but the gap between them was only 2-3 feet. We would stay there again, but not if we had a car to park (that would have been about a sixth more expensive).

Prior to booking this hotel, all fees and amenities were revealed. It was even noted upon our stay there would be renovations. I have never experienced a more attentive staff at any past hotel stays, than the curtious staff I met at Hotel Indigo! A free room upgrade was offered due to construction. The room was decorated as the pictures described. Room was unique, and impressive to not your standard institutionalized hotel decor. Bathroom was smaller than I've encountered before. It is common for most hotels in downtown Atlanta to charge for parking, but I do wish it could be a bit less, because it is now a deciding factor for future stays. Great experience!
