Was using location for an inexpensive alternative for 2 days until relocation to a different hotel was possible. This was one of those "you get what you pay for" hotels. Just average. Was gone most of the day and upon our return at 730PM they were just getting to cleaning the room! Had to wait in adjacent restaurant for them to finish. Biggest issue? I specifically booked and paid for a king room but OOPS! sold out by the time I checked in and no offer of relocation or reduction of costs were offered. Convenient and the chain restaurant was handy but if I had to do it all again I wouldn't.

The hotel was older and could use an update. However the location was wonderfully close to the airport and many restaurants, the beds were comfortable and the bar restaurant was very comfortable. Overall the venue had good value for the dollar.

We thought the outside of the hotel and the lobby were beautiful. The people at the front desk were very helpful and courtious. The free breakfast was ok,just your basic eggs,toast,meats, potatoes, and cereals. But we were not very impressed by the room. The bathroom was very small,the way some of the furniture was set-up was awkward and didnt make sense. The door didnt have a good seal around it so you could see light coming in from outside. Glad we were only there for onr night.

It is a nice hotel, staff was very friendly and accomidating. I saw a play at the Straz across the street and walked along the river after. I had a wonderful evening and felt safe. I wish the room had a fridge, but overall it was a good experience.

Tampa reminded us of Honolulu, the weather was pretty much alike and the atmosphere of the town was similar. The elevators in the hotel were very slow and at first only one worked. Breakfast was $10.00 for a buffet similar to what Best Western provides for free.

My friend had an early flight out of Tampa so we were looking for a cheap- but nice!- hotel for the night. We were pleasantly surprised with the Tahitian. As an extra treat we had scheduled spa treatments. My friend raved about her facial and my massage was excellent! Since it was late when we finished, we just popped into the cafe for a light dinner- delicious! And our server, [...], was great!While the Tahitian Inn is basically a converted motel, it was clean and comfortable. The only downsides to the room itself were the old heating/cooling unit and the bathroom. Those old units turn off and on throughout the night with the temperature never seeming to stay where you want it. And while the bathroom was a little spruced up, that did not make up for the lack of water pressure in the shower. But overall, it was a great hotel for the price.

Safety bar broke in lthe shower and we were given an upgrade. Loved the location of both rooms facing the bay. Both rooms were clean but could have been vacuumed better. Staff was great and loved al the courtesy shuttles. Loved the location.

We stay at the hotel one night because is close to the cruise port and they provide cortesy transportation from the airport to the hotel and for $10 per person, transportation to the cruise port. In general terms is an average good hotel that provide eveything that you need. It has very nice staff. Our room had a bay view and was clean. The sliding door to the balcony was tough to open and close due to problem in the rail. Has a nice pool close to the "sport" bar and the restaurant. Also, have facilites for meeting rooms. The restaurant has a beach style atmosphere We just ate breakfast and was good, except for the orange juice, too concentrate. One funny situation happens to us when arrived to the room; they gave us a room that was already occupied. When we open the door of the room, I found a lovely lady in a bikini and I though Wow! this is what I called first class room service. Really, I close the door so fast that I did not remenber how she looks.

The best...but less than perfect

This was the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was large, comfortable and well furnished. The staff was very polite and attentive. The complimentary custom breakfast was excellent! The reasons my stay was less perfect were (1) my room seemed to be near a utility room so there were mechanical noises during the night, (2) a valet confused my car with another guest, and (3) I was mistakenly billed for some bottled water in my room. Nevertheless I highly recommend the Embassy Suites and would stay there again.

My wife and I wanted a quick get away from "normal," The room was very comfortable, the only problem was the housekeeper started knocking on the room to clean at 8 am!!!! CHECK OUT IS 12 PM. My wife and I werent very happy about that. Otherwise great hotel.

Very handy shuttle from airport. Suite was perfect for our family of four. Morning breakfast was generous and delicious. Noticed that the evening food and beverage service from Monday to Thursday would be great for business travelers. Alas, we were there on Friday!

We stayed at the hotel while at a conference in Ybor city. It's easy to get to fantastic food just down 7th street with an exciting night life (which may not be suitable for younger children). The Street Car that takes you right into downtown Tampa is within a minutes walk. The pool and exercise room could use some updating. Everything else was in excellent and like-new condition. Our one complaint is that the hotel was very full and the staff had a hard time keeping up with the coffee at breakfast.

This hotel was close to everything. Just 2 minutes from the airport. A few minutes from the Raymond James Stadium and there was a fantastic mall right around the corner. I have stayed at the Hyatt Place in Wisconsin, Washington, and Ohio. This one is not as new as the other ones, but it was still a great hotel for the price.

This hotel could not have been in a better location from the airport. Picked up a rental car right at the terminal and hotel was about 5 min away. Our room was HUGE and the king bed was super comfortable. Very clean. Outside pool and hot tub was nice- in a parking lot in front of hotel but well hidden by bushes and flowers. great choice for the price and one night stay before a cruise. Prob not as great for a longer stay unless you have a car, but there is a whole strip of businesses and restaurants not far away and the Bucs stadium is also very close.

Was in town for a higher-number-than-I-care-to-admit High School Reunion, and a visit with my brother who LOVES to swim. I chose the HGI based upon proximity to the airport, a nice swimming pool w/some shade, and availability of non-smoking rooms with two beds. It far exceeded my expectations. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the guest room was lovely and clean (even included a microwave and mini fridge), and the pool was perfect. FAR superior to other nearby hotels I have stayed at on previous reunions. It's Florida, so you would do well to have a car to stay here or anywhere, as there isn't much on offer in the way of public transportation. Would DEFINITELY stay here again.

Mother/daughter college touring at University of Southern Florida and other nearby colleges found this a delightful, roomy stay. We used the pool, nice and clean. Continental breakfast buffet included in hotel price was very efficient and there was plenty of everything. Staff dealt well with computers being down. Quick check-in and check-out.

I stayed at the hotel this past weekend, and found it to be a great stay. The hotel was very clean and tidy. The location, which was close to Busch Gardens helped out alot. Many of food places around to eat at. The tv that was in the room was huge....great to watch football on while relaxing. Overall I was very pleased with my staff.

The location of the hotel was great. Literally right across the street from Busch Gardens, within 10 minutes of major supermarkets and stores for shopping, and about 15 minutes from the Florida Aquarium. We didn't get a chance to hit the beach, but from what I undetstand, the major beaches were only 30 minutes away. We chose the small King Bed room and it was VERY small. Only the basics, but was good enough for my husband, 7 month old, and I. The cleaning staff was hit or miss. But the stay was decent. We would stay again.

my husband and i stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed this hotel. the pool is very clean and overlooks the bay. from our balcony, we could see the whole bay and beautiful seagulls-very relaxing. there are tiki huts on a sandy shore to imagine you are in the caribbian. don't be fooled by the photo though, the beach is quite small. there is a local beach a few miles away that is much larger. local restaurants like bahama breeze have great food and entertainment. only thing missing is a jacuzzi, though it is florida and only those of us visiting in january would appreciate. staff and room very nice. highly recommend.

The room was clean and quiet. It was actually a small apartment with a full kitchen and separate sitting area. Large desk specially designed for computer users. Friendly staff. Less than 10 minutes by car to Tampa Airport with shuttle, separated from Highway 60 West by a lake, which gives it a resort-like atmosphere. Gas barbecue for the use of guests by the lake. All suites are on 2 levels, with sliding door-windows opening on small individual patios. A nice change from impersonal, large-chain hotels. Walking distance from great seafood restaurant.

Great location for Busch Gardens. Went to "Hollow Scream" at Busch Gardens. I requested a smoking room for my boyfriend, but was skeptical on the room's appearance and smell. I was shocked at how clean the room was, and how it did not smell of smoke at all. When first entering the room, I feel it would have passed as a non-smoking room. I WAS EXTREMELY SATISFIED WITH THE ROOM IN ITS ENTIRETY!!!!

i spent many of long hours looking on line and reading reviews. Found the reviews for this hotel were good. Took a chance,glad i did. Helpful staff was at Bush Gardens was able to check in early . Only 10 minutes away from Bush Gardens Nice rooms. Staff knew you by name Good prices Would stay again.

It was nice to stay at a hotel that had such a great staff. We got lost on our way there because of directions from the rental car agency, the front desk clerk stayed on the phone with us and talked us in. The continental breakfast was great, you can make fresh waffles. The hotel was nice and clean the beds very comfortable.
