I booked a king room and was upgraded to king with hottub without even asking. Large room, very comfortable bed, nice Samsung flat screen TV. The restaurant was excellent. Gourmet presentation. Very reasonably priced.

I spent $80 on a busy night, understandable, but for an extra $20 I wonder what i could have gotten? Clean, nothing fancy. It is closer than you think to downtown, just go out the back way. Still a long, interesting walk to downtown if it's not too hot.

the hotel staff was great, room clean everyday, good breakfast, and the hotel was always clean, other than an odor that was always present inside and out. but it was not terrible. my wife could smell it better than me she said it smelled like rotten eggs. otherwise it was great,

The location was great! The staff was friendly! The only issue was with our air conditioner. It worked just fine, but at night, the unit would drip or leak, and the carpet would be wet the next day. We told the staff the first morning about it, but I'm not sure they ever had anyone look at it because it did it again. Overall though, a great place to stay! I would recommend the Holiday Inn to other people.

The hotel was clean and reasonably modern. The pool was very clean. The carts housekeeping uses to travel the halls will wake you up in the morning so dont stay up too late. The wireless was being worked on so it was understandable that it went out often. Great location close to historic district and 10-10 breakfast!

Affordable, well-located place for a family to stay while enjoying one of Florida's best-kept secret

We had a long drive from New York to Fort Lauderdale, so we decided to detour to a couple of beaches to break the trip up. The hotel was easy to find and cozy. Our only complaint was that the smell of the air conditioner was a little musty. But the room was clean and quite comfortable.
The desk clerk recommended visiting Vilano Beach, which was perfect. It was as if we had our own private beach. Hardly anyone was there, so it was quiet. It was one of the prettiest beaches we'd ever been to. Our children searched for shells, which were plentiful at Vilano. The water was warm. Afterward, we went back to the hotel.
The clerk also recommended the Mexican restaurant across the street. It was nice not to have to drive. She was right about the restaurant too - delicious. One of the best Mexican dinners we'd ever had.
After that, we rested in our hotel room. The beds were very comfortable.
The free breakfast and free internet were a plus. The breakfast wasn't incredible, but it wasn't terrible. The waffles were gluey (having just had them at a different hotel the day before, we had a high standard). But there were other choices, like cereal, bagels, and oatmeal, that were totally sufficient.
Overall, it was exactly what we'd wanted - inexpensive and clean, yet comfortable. We'd definitely stay there again.

I was a little worried about a couple reviews that i read about the place but as soon as i arrived everything was great.the staff was very friendly,room was nice and clean.Very comfortable.wifi worked with no problems.great location on the beach.im definately coming back.

Stayed for 2 nights Dec 21 & 22, 2011 with our daughter (the latter visiting Flagler college as a next year possibility). Everything was very satisfactory, especially service: it turned out the bathtub in our room was missing a stopper: one was installed within 10 minutes of informing the front desk. Friendly staff, direct beach access. good hot breakfast. The only thing I would note is that the pool is not heated (or if it is, not very much), but I'm not sure they claim a heated pool anyway, so can't complain about that.
Overall, while there was nothing truly outstanding that made us us say "WOW, we MUST come back to this place"... we would be very happy to return here on any future visit to the area.

Hotel Staff personnel at the front desk were very friendly and accomodating! The location was the best part. The entire area is within walking distance and it was nice and quiet at night. The only problem was our bed was uncomfortable and we had backaches in the morning, but at least the pillows were very comfortable! We will stay here again!

I've stayed in many Holiday Inn Express and prefer them to the regular holiday inns. This one was clean and the beds were really comfy. My only negative is the hinge on the room doors are soo stiff that you have to fight to get the door open and then we you let go the hinge is so tight that it SLAMS the door and you in it if you are in the way. Which means.... EVERYONE else's door slams all night if they don't bother to close it lightly by hand.

Over all very good experience. Negative parts of trip were that bed was horribly uncomfortable to the point of back hurting, TV to small fo King room. And no fan in the bathroom. Other than that food was great for breakfast.

The hotel was right at the Interstate, but did not hear the traffic at anytime from inside the room. IHOP is located inside the Motel adjoining the lobby. Would stay there again.

The staff was incredibly friendly! They bake fresh cookies nightly and will bake more if you missed them!! The staff knows the best places to see and dine w/ very good directions. Located just 5 min from downtown, 5 min from Vilano Beach and 10 min to St Augustine Beach but w/out all the noise of the busy areas! We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel!

This motel was old, but very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful but at times a bit misinformed. When I asked if I could extend my stay one more day I was told yes. When I went back to do that I was told that because I had booked thru Orbitz I could not. They had rented all of their rooms. The motel is not within walking distance of anything, but it is only a short drive to the old city, fort, etc. I would recommend this motel, but only for Sunday thru Thursday. On weekends they jack the price up almost 70%

The hotel was in a great convenient location to the historic district and also the beaches. We had a great weekend. The only drawback is that it isn't walking distance from the historic district, but you can walk to a visitor center with a trolley/shuttle to downtown.

This is an older hotel, but the rooms were comfortable. The tub/shower floor was slippery, it may have been the "soft water" they have at the beach. Had an ok balcony but weren't allowed to smoke their either.

The rooms were fantastic & the beds slept great! They had an awesome fitness center & kept it really nice. The view of the city was fun for people watching from the little sitting room area. The pool was shallow but fine. The hotel bar was 5 star. The location was perfect & parking on the street was obtainable & much cheaper than the valet for the garage. The front desk employees were cool & helpful. It was so good that we took our impromptu, 1 night getaway up to 2 nights for our first anniversary & had the best time together. It was totally romantic!

This is a good place to stay if you are more interested in price rather than location in respect to the beach. It is not a 5 min. walk as I was told at check-in. It took us at the very least 10 min. and at most 15 min. Keep in mind that you will be carrying your beach gear for the walk. With respect to the place itself, we were pleased with the cleanliness and the pool was very nice although somewhat small. Breakfast was mostly breads with jelly, peanut butter, or cream cheese. There were also cereals, plus instant grits & oatmeal. The coffee was hot & delicious with a variety of creams & sweetners.

The hotel is beautiful. The staff very courteous and helpful. Beautiful landscape. We weren't there enough time to be able to enjoy the IMAX theater because we were there only for the wedding, but it was very reasonably price and would like to do it, next time we are in St. Augustine. The breakfast buffet was lovely and the staff was very helpful. We were there a little after the chef closed, and the waiter insisted that she could have eggs made to order still from the kitchen. We were 2 adults and 2 children, so we got the double beds, not very comfortable...the pillows were stuffy and a bit hard.

We used this hotel as our base for the week in St. Augustine. The landscaping was beautiful,and although it was close to the highway it was quiet. It was an easy drive to town. The room was clean. The air conditioner worked great and was quiet. We had 2 11 year old boys with us and they enjoyed the pool and billiards. Internet access was 12.00 per day so we skipped it. Free computers in the lobby though.

Hampton Inn I-95 - St. Augustine

My husband and I went to St. Augustine this past Labor Day weekend. One of the hardest things to do before our trip was to choose the hotel due to the quantity available in the city and the reviews about them. We wanted a clean bedroom for less than US$100 and I must say that I was successful choosing this Hampton Inn.
The hotel has a friendly staff. For example, the person responsible for the breakfast was always checking if everything was ok for guests and refilling food/beverages. The bedroom was satisfactory clean and also was spacious, had cable tv with HBO, and good speed for internet connection. The only thing I would say is a con: the noise the air conditioning did. The hotel is about 6 miles from the historic center and has a KFC and a Denny's in walking distance. Close to the St. Augustine Outlet Mall and the Premium Outlet.
For people looking in my price range, this hotel is a good option.

This was a very nice hotel. Out of the way and hard to fine. The pool was small and located near surrounding traffic (KFC). Would definitely stay again, only if I was going shopping and not wanting to go to the beach. The rooms were very nice and quiet.
