Romantic Getaway

  • Jay FL
  • Dec 6, 2012
Overall, a great experience. The only issue was check in, which literally took 45 minutes. We heard from other people in line the computer system crashed. When we finally got to the front of the line to check in, the girl didn't even acknowledge the wait. We were celebrating our 1st anniversary, so we requested a King size bed, and got two queens. However, The Peabody corrected this, and gave us a corner room with fantastic views of the entire city, from downtown to the Disney fireworks at night.. We stayed on the Club level, and totally worth it. Valet included, along with breakfast, horderves and dessert, and a room on a high floor.

Everything about the hotel was fine, except for the room had some shortcomings. Most importantly, the lighting was very poor. Common facilities were fine. The golf course is (as expected) outstanding. Since we were there over Christmas, certain of the facilities (e.g., the fitness center) were closed when we wanted to use them.

Hôtel très agréable et confortable, belles chambres calmes. Très bel environnement. Seul regret, ne pas disposer de réfrigérateur dans la chambre pour des boissons fraîches. A recommander. A noter que comme dans la plupart des hôtels des USA, le personnel ne parle pas français. Dommage pour un non bilingue.

Exactly what you expect from a JW Marriott. Clean, modern, comfortable. Particularly good buffet breakfast. The location is a little out of the way. Charging for parking in such a remote location, did not seem very courteous to me, but it is what it is. Would come back.

Weekend Getaway for Two

  • Lax Ref
  • Jul 30, 2012
I decided it was time for a little "R&R" for the two of us. I didnt want to travel to the beach or deal with a B&B. JW Marriott came up as a possible choice. Good decision to stay here. It is a BEAUTIFUL hotel with great amenities and a friendly staff. Pool is gorgeous and the lazy river is.....well....lazy and fun. Convenience of the pool/bar staff is great and the food down at the pool is very good and reasonable priced. The main bar and the restaurants are convenient and the food is very good. The sushi bar in the middle of the main bar is a great touch and we made a lot of friends. On the downside there are a TREMENDOUS number of kids.....the hotel does "nickel and dime" you a bit. Valet parking is $25 per day, tubes for the lazy river are $7 each, drinks at the pool are astronomical, and carry plenty of singles because EVERYONE expects a tip. Valet, bell hop, pool waiters, servers, bartenders, housekeeping, etc. All in all a great weekend, not an "economy getaway" but really great. Id definitely go again.

In true Ritz Carlton fashion, from the moment we arrived we were greeted and addressed by name. Our room was upgraded due to my reward membership status. The manager was extremely attentive and his staff obviously follows his lead. We did pay for the upgrade to the concierge level which is fantastic. The staff was personable and very attentive. They were great with my kids. The food and drink are abundant and available throughout the day. Golf course was great, spa is excellent, and on the days it was cool they provide free hot chocolate in the lobby. Overall, I spent a lot of money, but I am satisfied with the amount of service and amenities I received.

Not happy

  • Aug 22, 2012
My stay at the Radisson was full of little inconveniences that led to a lot of frustration. It took over two hours for us to get inside of our room because the keys wouldn't work. After the 3rd set, someone had to clean the key pad and reset the entire door code. This was annoying because we couldn't do anything or go anywhere until we got into our room. The sleep number bed also had to be reset (which took 3 days) so that we could adjust the firmness. The water pressure in the shower was terrible. If you ran the faucet the water was scalding, but if you used the shower it was lukewarm at best. Then the pressure, would almost cut off then cut back on full force and burn the heck out of you. I was also charged a convenience fee of $10 a day for access to the YMCA and parking. When I went to the front desk about these problems the staff was very helpful and polite; however, would always refer me to speak to the manager (who was never in at that time). Finally, when I went to check out (with my 5th set of keys!) the manager wouldn't even come out of his office to speak to us about the problems we has encountered during our stay and to talk about the $90 fee we were charged. I thought is was unacceptable that the manager wouldn't even give us the time of day and we were sent packing without any kind of compensation or apology for the problems we encountered. I will never stay at another Radisson as a result of this manager's rudeness!

Wonderful experience; will recommend to friends; KOSHER food in the area

  • Suiteflute
  • Dec 27, 2012
This hotel experience has been one of the best we have EVER had. But, this is not a resort. It's a nice hotel, but not a resort. The reception staff is friendly and helpful, the grounds are clean and pretty, and most importantly the room was lovely. We stayed in the smallest type of room, but it did not feel claustrophobic. It was clean, did not smell, and the bed was clean and comfy. I thoroughly inspected for bed bugs (always do), and there were no signs. And no bites. There is a little kitchenette, even in the smallest rooms, and they provide dish soap, paper towels, fridge/freezer, and other amenities. The television is not flat-screen, but that wasn't a priority for us. The shower pressure was great, bathroom was very clean, lots of towels provided, and nice bath products. The pool is standard, and there is also a hot tub. The pool chairs are a bit uncomfortable, but we didn't spend too much time poolside. Parking is available on-site, and part of the hotel fee. The only negative aspect was that the WiFi wasn't working for any of the guests. They had recently installed a new system, and the engineers themselves didn’t even understand how to get it working. I don’t take points off of the review for this because the staff really did try, and at checkout I requested that we not be charged the $11/day fee for internet, parking, etc. and the attendant took that charge off the bill. With a AAA discount, the room only cost us $80/night after taxes and fees!!! For that price, I have no major complaints. Again, not a resort. This hotel is very close to Universal, and not far from Sea World. We will recommend this hotel to our friends, and if we’re ever in Orlando again, we will stay here! *This location is also great if you keep KOSHER, and can only eat kosher food (and therefore cannot eat at any other restaurants except those kosher certified). The Chabad center and kosher restaurants are within walking distance from this hotel, and the food is decent! *

The staff is extremely nice and knowledgeable. We stayed several nights, my only complaint would be the cleaning staff, when fixing our bed, the literally just pulled the comforter up, did not bother to straighten the sheets underneath. I would recommend they offer more shuttle times to the theme parks....Other than that, everything was nice, I would suggest this resort to anyone!!!

We stayed in the 1 room suite and it was perfect for our family vacation. My only complaint was the shower handle was broken so each time we went to turn the water on it fell off. I called the front desk to inform them of this and what i thought was a broken bed and was told that maintenance would be alerted, but no one ever came. Also the internet was in and out our stay. Other than those minor things, we loved staying here.

Where's the free continental breakfast and Wi-Fi?

  • Bilge Pump
  • Dec 30, 2012
A family of 5, all adults, shared a double suite. We had two adults in each of the queen beds and one in the sofa bed. The room was adequate, but a little cramped. I don't think they could jam any more furniture into one hotel suite. We had to ask for extra towels everyday because they set up the room for four. There never was a problem getting the extra towels, it was just an annoyance. There is a coffee maker, small fridge and microwave in each of the suites. Very nice. The pool area was fantastic. The only real complaint we had: no complimentary breakfast and no free Wi-Fi in the room. In fact, the central computer area offered to the guests required payment for use. Really?! The location was perfect for our vacation, central to all theme parks. It is located on World Center Dr., a less traveled thoroughfare. A word of warning: stay away, far away, from International Drive. It is very congested all day, every day. All in all, the hotel was very nice, clean, well staffed and convenient to our destinations. I would stay there again.

Great amenities, good location, cozy stay

  • avidTrvl
  • Nov 22, 2012
About the hotel: every room has a living room, kitchenette, fridge, stove top. It is 25 mins from disney parks, 7 minutes from sea world. We save big money by renting a car, and purchased our food from the supermarket. We did not purchase any food from the park as hey can add up quickly. The hotel has all the amenities, jacuzzi, pools. But we were occupied with all the activities at Disney Parks. The hotel offers free shuttle services to Epcot every hour on the hour from 8am to 12pm. You must catch another bus from Epcot to reach Animal Kingdom, WDW, Hollywood Studio. Return time from Epcot is 6pm, 845pm, 10pm and 11pm (something like that). They did try to get us to attend the timeshare seminar at check-in. But this can be easily refused. Although I found it annoying that they sent us back and forth to different counters in order to get our bus pass. The information clerk sent us to the time share clerk. Time share clerk tried to sell us time share (annoying). Then she sent us back to the information desk for our bus pass. You need the bus pass in order to use their complimentary shuttle to Disney parks.

This is probably one of the best hotels for families and groups in the Orlando area. We've been here several times over the last few years, and found that their rooms and service have kept up well during that time. If anything, the media equipment in the rooms have been upgraded considerably over the last three years or so. The hotel has three swimming pool areas, and they are all open to guests. There is one with a large slide and play area that little ones will enjoy. The grounds are well-kept and welcoming, with BBQ grills and hammocks placed around for guests to use.

Amazing service and great value.

  • Dec 5, 2012
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon from October 12th-21st. It was a very nice stay. It was a bit eerie at times because it was rather quiet and not a lot of people seemed to be there. But, for the price and if you want a relaxing stay, it definitely did it's job. It was going through construction/renovation at the time and so elevators and certain rooms were out of service, but that didn't ruin our experience. The hotel is located in a quiet area, away from major businesses. There was a CVS and 7-11 down the road. And not too much further was a Walgreens and Wawa. The drive to the parks and other tourist attractions was not much of a hassle and it was about 15-20 minutes drive. (Although, the drivers in Orlando can be a pain in the butt.) The rooms were basic but very nice. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom roomy. There was a mini-fridge provided which was nice to store leftovers. Now, we stayed in two rooms. Our original room was located on the bottom level. We did have problems with the water taking some time to heat up, it took about 10 minutes to get past lukewarm. We also had a bit of a problem with temperate regulation (but I am quite picky and get cold easily, while my husband gets warm.) About three days into our stay we had a large ant problem. Someone had left candy underneath the couch in our room and they are swarmed it. We had all of our clothes in this corner and upon exiting the shower and trying to get dressed they fell all over my feet and were rather angry to say the least. We informed the front desk and they came to investigate the situation. We were immediately given a new room on the second floor. The receptionist and a guy from housekeeping helped us gather our things quickly and took them up to the other room. We were then given money to do our laundry. The receptionist (I wish I could remember her name, she was such a dear) even helped us shake out our clothes to get as many ants off as possible before washing them. Had it not been for the immediate service and amazing help I would not have been quite as please. We are fairly laid back though so I still would recommend them. I also spoke to the manager who did refund us for half our day because we had to spend it doing laundry rather than spending it at the parks. Our second room had no problem with the water heating up, so it seems to depend on each individual room. The temperature seemed to work fine for this room as well. The pool seemed to be really nice. We took advantage of the hot tub after our long days at the parks. It was quiet and we had it to ourselves. Very relaxing. Based on other reviews I was a bit nervous mostly for the water and the lack of people. The walk to and from the parking lot didn't phase me. Exercise is good. :) I had a very nice experience and would definitely return.

the room itself was nice ..flat screen tv (but only about 20 channels)..nice beds.. but had a few issues..the pool furniture looked pretty old..there were several "cabanas" -(basically a tent roof) 2 of which had the fabric missing and one with a big tear in it...and the landscaping around the hotel didnt look like it has been kept very well.. but once inside..it was clean and comfortable for our stay.. the location is great for staying at seaworld/discovery cove and close to disney and at the other end of I-drive from Universal.. so i would stay here again given the price we paid for the stay

It was truly worth the value, in fact, the suite was so large that for two people it felt more like home. The balcony view was beautiful and the location was so close to the highway and disney. The only problem was the WIFI which was mostly unavailable from most parts of the room, except near the front part (kitchen)

Great stay, great location and beautiful view.

  • Sxybutafly
  • Nov 25, 2012
Really enjoyed this surprise of a hotel. It was pretty nice for the cost. The view of lake Bryan was serene to look at while sitting on the balcony with. Morning tea. It was a little chilly out so we didn't try the pool but by looking at the number of ppl in the pool I doubt that. It was heated. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. Parking was convenient and close. Elevators were secure so that only guest can access the upper floors. Although this stay was pretty nice, it was far from perfect. I personally don't like hotels with exterior corridors. Also our bedroom window faced the corridor which was loud so ppl coming and going during the morning and night might wake a light sleeper. Also, the TVs although flat was tiny. smaller than my laptop screen and way across the room. The TVs should have been appropriately sized for the viewing distance. Lastly, wifi although available and connected never provided service. I get that's what you get with free wifi (ie.. No wifi) Overall, I would go back for the view and the location. Not sure if I'd recommend unless the price was right.

Stayed for a wedding that was right next door, for the price these condos were an awesome deal! King size bed, pull out queen and comfy bunk beds. Not like a regular hotel with room service but food does get delivered from several places... just give them ample time since it's a pretty busy area of town.

From the front desk personnel to the housekeepers, we were greeted with friendliness and professionalism. We had a two bedroom villa which was spacious, clean, beautifully decorated and felt very private. The attention to detail was evident throughout. We played golf on property which was great. The courses were in great shape, the staff friendly and very accommodating. We used the workout facilities at the Hyatt which were available 24/7. The Hyatt property is also beautiful with art and beautiful decor throughout. The location of the Grand Cypress Villas is perfect, conveniently located to all of the theme parks and restaurants. WARNING ... Traffic in Orlando is bad, which was the only negative experience during our entire vacation.

We stayed at this resort over Thanksgiving and it was great. We did not get to use the pool or other resort activities but the location was wonderful, minutes from Downtown Disney, Sea World and all the Disney resorts. The room was fabulous, a loft for the kids, nice sized kitchen. Spotlessly clean. Highly recommend.

This resort was great. Spacious, clean, no extra resort fees, room service every day. Plenty to do on the resort. Great location for Disney, SeaWorld, Outlets, or other fun activities. The pictures on their website and description of the property, is exactly as the property presents itself. They offer the timeshare tour, I declined and never heard anymore from them. Pleasant guest services; when I called the front desk they addressed me by my last name. Very nice. We've stayed at Floridays, Blue Green Resorts and this one. They are all great!!!!! I really like the full beds in the 2nd bedroom vs twins. Nice Pools too. All in All.... it deserves it's 4 starts.

I chose the Rosen Plaza because it was next to the convention center and I was about to take the most important exam of my life! The night before the exam I was able to get a good night's sleep and as a result performed well enough to pass :) The second night there was significant noise and I didn't sleep as well but that could happen at any hotel in Orlando. The room was clean, it had a great view and the staff was very professional and polite. The food is also good and there's a shop that enables you to buy food and necessities. I would stay again at this hotel and recommend it!

Great stay for Golf Plus Park Plus Show

  • Sriram Leisure traveller
  • Nov 24, 2012
The location was great, just removed from the busy Disney downtown, almost walkable. Food was good but expensive. Shuttle to Golf courses helped. I will recommend the New Course with super friendly staff. On the minus side, the WiFi didn't work most of the time (though they gave me $50 off for 4 nights) an the internal network including check was wasn't up at all. They could do a better job checking it before letting customers in and making them spend 2 hours with maintenance

one night stay before leaving for our honeymoon

  • GlobalPerezifer
  • Jun 30, 2012
The hotel staff was very nice. We stayed for one night for our honeymoon before flying out to our actual honeymoon destination. I was all excited about having a balcony to sit out at. Only a few of their suites have that. SO, don't pay extra for a balcony cause you'll likely have an area that MIGHT have standing room. This hotel is huge. We were on a high floor with a nice enough view. It seemed like we had to park all the way out in Timbuktu before getting to the front desk and then up many floors to our room. The walk back to the car didn't seem so bad, so self parking is doable. It is also $11.00. They also add a resort fee so consider that when you think you're getting a great deal. Overall, the room was clean, nicely decorated, and the bed was comfy. They upgraded us to a suite with a kitchen an living room area. They did offer us champagne when we arrived since they knew we'd just gotten married. We weren't really there long enough to enjoy it or investigate all they had to offer but the room was very comfortable.
