The staff makes Wyndam Grand Orlando a pleasure to stay!

As this hotel just opened in Oct 2011, some issues are to be expected. However, the staff at this hotel are wonderful (with the EXCEPTION of their house keeping staff which were absolutely horrible - our room was half cleaned on one day and not cleaned at all on another day! They sited the reason for not cleaning was because they ran out of clean sheets!!!). In particular we like to note Lisa at front desk made our check in fast, efficient and was very helpful in answering all our queries. Tim, the manager of in room dining went out of his way to provide extra assistance to us for our baby bottle sanitizing needs. All the concierge at the hotel was extremely helpful in assisting with directions, tickets, restaurant recommendations, and planning of our stay in Orlando. The location of the hotel was also very convenient to all Disney World parks and attractions.

For the money you pay, it is worth it. Do not expect the room to be very clean...check your bed sheet before you jump into a bed. You may find something(s) you may not want...such as someone else hair...I found it twice!

I was dissapointed to learn that the rate of some $80 per night did not include free WiFi. As a person that travels frequently and needs to stay in touch via internet, this meant a lack of value for dollar. I understood later that most of the other hotels in the area do not include it either. Maybe that means I should just bypass Orlando altogether for travel when it comes to getting value for my money.

even though I had booked this room weeks in advance when we arrived they had over booked, so we did not get the room we requested. Still Was only 3 min away from universal, and with out kids it was fine. we were only in the room to sleep.

The hotel is OK...but the shuttle stinks!!!!
Please do not rely on the shuttle service...They say they have a shuttle, but then they did not mention that it runs only once a day to these parks...
and that too for universal and Seaworld way too late...
The universal shuttle is scheduled at 9:20, but never shows up before 9:45-50...
The seaworld is scheduled at 10:40 in the morning..r u kidding me?? the park open at 9:00
And on the day we wanted to go to seaworld, the shuttle did not even come...we waited till 11:15 and finally had to take out car..( luckily we had rented a car as well..) The front desk has not idea how the or who to contact for the shuttle whereabouts...they were like.. I am calling transportation, but then they had no idea who the driver was and who they were to contact....
we literally ended up wasting 3 hrs...( as by the time with the parking we reached the park at 12:00)
It really stinks with that.....

We travel to Orlando regularly and stay at a number of hotels in the area. The Monumentel was attractive to us because of the great price, the clean and attractive appearance of the building and rooms, and the physical location of the hotel. It is close to Sea World and many popular attractions, but isolated enough so that it is quite and more peaceful than many other hotels. One drawback for us was that there was no fitness room.

Overall the experience was good. The staff at the front desk could have been more professional and helpful. I had many mix ups with my 2 reservations and it took someone from the timeshare department to sort it out because they were hoping for a sale.

I stayed at this hotel all week to only get kicked out my room by the maids!!! Go figure.. So they upgrade to a Suite. I figure I would get some sleep only to have an Indian name Patel break in the room claiming my toilet was over flowing. I am livid as I worked a brutal convention for the week and was finally off. Needless to say I got no sleep. Breakfast is average and the bar is the only best part to wind down.. Beware of the Indian with that plunger.

it was my business trip and I spent minimal time in the hotel. Seems like quite a lot of "included" stuff, even a descent breakfast was for a fee. Overall it was OK, but expectations should be average.

My family spent 3 nights at the hotel on our road trip between Georgia and Ft. Lauderdale. As we were travelling with 3 children 8, 10 and 12 years, and as we were on a budget we wanted something that included breakfast as well as a room with enough space for the five of us. Quality Suites turned out to be quite suitable as the suite was very spacious and the separate living area was advantageous. Parking was also great at no extra cost. The choices at breakfast were excellent and gave us a good start to the day. The children enjoyed the pool. We did not go to Disney World as we have been there enough times but it was very close. We travelled to Dinosaur World which was nearer to Tampa and the hotel proved to be a good location for that as well.
Please note though that the hotel does not appear to be a new one so expect older models in kitchen equipment. It could also do with some upgrades in terms of the corridor carpeting and some other minor repairs in the bathroom. We had a very late check in on our first night (almost mid night) so we were tired and so it was not fun having to be asked by the front desk clerk to come back to the front desk for the sheets and blanket needed for the sofa bed as he was the only one on duty. The hotel should leave a spare set of sheets and pillows in the room to avoid this. The hotel was probably full when we were there as the breakfast area was always crowded. Overall though, our stay was comforatble and well worth the value.

The price was fine, the location way good, and the staff was helpful.
But, the room was dirty, cracked toilet that always ran. Smoke stains from cigarettes on the walls. The bathtub had hair in it, the bathroom floors need to be swept and mopped. It was disgusting.
I think if you can, pay more and go somewhere else.

The only suttle offeres is to disney land and the shuttl is not beloned to the hotel which is part of the mears transportation. As to the others, u have to go by taxi or have ur own car.

There are a lot of amenities at this hotel. The hotel is well appointed and clean. The staff was responsive and courteous. It is not far from area theme parks and from the airport. The hotel is a bit too large and there was a long line at check in. The food in the onsite diner was less than average.

We loved the Blue Heron Beach Resort..close to all the parks. We actually watched the fireworks from our balcony. Plenty of room in the 2 bedroom suite for a family of 6 to live comfortably for a week. Condo was clean and we had everything we needed.
Staff was helpful in guiding us around Orlando. My family and I would absolutly stay here again. 2 thumbs up!!

The place was very nice,clean and roomy,the only real complaints would be the small 1980's era tube televisions plus no batteries in the remotes,and older hard mattresses other than that we very much enjoyed our short stay.
update the televisions to flat screens(preferably a larger screen in the living room)and get pillowtop mattresses and you have a perfect situation

Close to Lake Buena Vista

I chose this hotel over less expensive hotels because they advertised having Shuttle Service to the Disney parks.(Parking at Disney is $14.00/day) Well, they do but it is limited and does not run all day. I checked in at 2:45pm and wanted to take a shuttle to the magic Kingdom to meet up with my daughter and her family. I was informed that the shuttle doesn't run to the park in the afternoons. I had to drive and pay the $14.00 parking fee. The rest of the shuttle schedule did not meet my needs. I had to be at Epcot on Saturday morning at 9am when it opens, but the first shuttle pickup was not until 9:30am. So the extra $20 that I paid for the room expecting shuttle service was wasted.
Also, I paid $64.99 plus tax booking through Orbitz. When I arrived, the hotel sign was advertising rooms for $54.95. Another $10 overpaid by booking through Orbitz.
Having said that, the hotel was fine. The room was very clean and well taken care of. The continental breakfast was good.

We chose to stay at this hotel because of its location and proximity to Disneyworld. It's within 10 minutes of every park and very convenient to get back and forth to each day. The customer service was excellent - everyone was very friendly. Had a continental breakfast each morning and a little gift shop where you could purchase the essentials if you ran out of things like batteries, swim goggles, etc.
The pool was great for the kids. The building is in some need of repairs. The front entrance had some significant water damage to the overhang where you pull up to enter the hotel and blue tarps were hanging from it. When it rained, the water would pour through it and when I asked when they would fix it they said they had no idea since it was really expensive.
The rooms were ok, but there was a smell in the hallways that never seemed to go away, much like a musty basement. I think that the staff did the best they could with a building that wasn't being maintained, but we didn't spend a lot of time there anyways so we didn't mind.

The hotel is in a great location, so close to shops and food. Great location to Sea World. The staff was great and polite. I just have 2 complaints: the hot tub was not working and I was really looking forward to it. Then the bed was lumpy and the pillows; well, they could use some new ones. Overall the hotel was great, good for 1 night; don't know if I would stay more than that.

Accomodations overall were typical Radisson, which we've always found to be pretty good. No complaints with this one. Close proximity to theme parks was very convenient. (We drove, so had no experience with the hotel shuttle.) Numerous decent restaurants within easy walking distance, in the mall next to the hotel. No reason not to stay there again.

Website does not do justice to the great amenties and housekeeping staff. A little far from Disney and Universal, but we had enough gasoline regardless. We wished one of the seven pools at the resort was an indoor pool, especially during the thunderstorms we worked through during the week we stayed in Orlando. Maybe "free" wireless would guarantee us to go back to this resort. The Orbitz prices were excellent, so we'll do business again! Thank you!

We spent 4 days there while visiting the theme parks. It was about 15 min from the airport, 15 min from Disney, 5 min from Sea World, & 5 min to a Publix grocery store (that sells alcohol) & Walmart. Perfect location & quite spacious for families with small kids - a 2 bedroom was perfect for 2 adults & 4 small kids (under 9). This was the best condo deal we found for peak season. Staff was courteous, professional, always prompt to address issues like remote not working & no dishwashing soap - someone came to the room within 30minutes. Clean rooms & good value for price.

The condo is elegantly furnished and everything looked to be in perfect condition. It was fully equipped with a large fridge/freezer, full-size oven, dishwasher, microwave, washer/dryer, pots/pans/utensils, etc. It has a nice balcony which overlooks the lake and fountains. Everything within the community is within walking distance. I liked the nightly phone calls about all the activities taking place the next day. There were no hard sells for timeshares, which was a nice relief.
The location is about 3.5 miles to Disney and outside of the complex is a brand new Benihana Restaurant. There is a shopping mall about 1/2 mile down that does contain a grocery store (Publix), Walgreens (drug store), restaurants (Japanese and Mexican), and other stores.
The clubhouse and pool area are wonderful, too. Lots and lots to do. They do have restaurants, but we had no time to eat at them. (I rated them a 3 because there is no choice for N/A, so I put it in the middle). The second pool with the "water park" type slides and equipment was closed during our stay. Needless to say my kids were quite disappointed, but still had a great time in the other pool.
Would highly recommend staying here. We TOTALLY enjoyed it :-D

Although the hotel was in the middle of construction there was still a great experience available. The poolside experience with bar, food and fire was great. There is free shuttles to disney parks which was perfect for me. Clean and comfortable. Very attentive.

Our Florida Experience

We arrived at the Sheraton Safari Hotel when it was named, "Sher on" because 2 letters in the lighted sign were not working. That should have been a clue as to what would come next. Our room looked fine and we settled in. As I walked barefoot to the bed, I found the carpet to be wet. Closer to the air conditioner it got really soggy. We pulled the bed skirts up to keep them from getting wet during the night and told the front desk about the situation 1st thing in the morning. Actually, morning came a little sooner than we expected, when the hydraulic lift platform rose outside our window with the beep-beep-beep alarm sound. The 2 missing letters were being repaired bright and early. We were given a different room with a dry carpet. After re-locating, we went to the lobby for a doughnut and coffee (neither of which were complimentary). They do serve a large buffet breakfast ($11.95pp), but we're light eaters and had no refrigerator in our room for left-overs, so didn't attempt that. The noise in the lobby was horrendous! The hotel is undergoing extensive rennovation and all the windows in one wing were being smashed to remove them. We took our doughnuts and returned to our room. Before we left to explore Universal Studios Adventure Island, there was an emergency evacuation of the entire hotel because a construction worker accidentally nicked a wire or something. The fire truck arrived and certified that everything was OK and we returned to our room. While the desk staff was accomodating and sympathetic about any inconvenience to us, it appears that these occurances are typical and part of their ordinary day. I had looked forward to splashing in the pool, but was told by another guest that the heaters had been turned off and the water was so chilly she couldn't stay in long. Oh, well... Our trip to the amusement park was great. The sun was out and we had a great day. We became accustomed to the construction noise in the hotel and learned to leave early and stay out all day. That's not hard to do in the Orlando area! there was a sign in the lobby that said we would receive some kind of "free nights" certificate good in 2012 because of the construction occuring during our stay. When we check out, there was no paperwork because our stay was pre-paid as part of a package. Consequently there was no certificate. It doesn't really matter, because I doubt we will be going back to Florida again next year. We live in Washington State and that's a long trip.
I had expected better of a Sheraton brand name hotel. It was an OK experience, but I wouldn't recommend this as a vacation spot to relax in. It's just a sleeping place.
