Started out with terrible service from young lady at desk. Waited 15 minutes to get service, (she was on the phone). Got first room, locked out , had to get second room, no TV reception, Third room assigned, already occupied, Finally on forth try got a great room and upgreat thanks to Andrew, (the best thing this hotel has goung for it). A lot of maintenance issues that could be fixed fairly easy. If it were not for Andrew and his determination to give good customer service we would have left the first night.

Overall you get what you pay for. There is no way you will find a 4 or 5 star hotel that close to the water for that price. I got what I was looking for and was extremely pleased with my room & view. Now as for the (noisy)guests staying in the hotel that is a totally different story and is beyond my control.

Or visit a variety of Beach Cafes Restaurants and fanciful Shops just steps away. All with over 300 days of healthy sunshine per year to caress your spirits.
Since 1952 nearly 2.000 guests per year have been coming from all over the world to enjoy their vacation at the Eastward Strand.
Our rooms and suites have recently been lovingly renovated with free internet access and TV in every unit. Our suites also have fully equipped kitchens which provide the possibility of a very independent vacation. Our heated freshwater pool is surrounded by a lush tropical garden where we are proud of several rare palm tree species. Free parking for all guests is provided.
The Eastward Strand is located on the middle of El Mar Drive a beautiful palmstudded beach promenade. The lowtraffic promenade is just a mile long ideal for pleasant walks jogging and bicycling.
Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is situated on a beach island on Floridas southeastern coast between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intercoastal Waterway. It is just a 20 minute drive from Fort Lauderdale Intl Airport and Seaport and generally less than an hour from Miami Intl Airport.

Our European Mediterranean style Bed and Breakfast invites you to a year round vacation directly on the beach. This Family-Run beach resort offers you a very comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. Our 29 units consist of standard guest rooms with refrigerators, efficiency studios with full kitchens, and one or two bedroom condo style suites. Many have private balconies facing the ocean. Other units have an ocean view. There is a three floor lobby where the breakfast buffet is set every morning from 8AM-10AM. Part of the Inn wraps around a brick-covered tropical courtyard and full of palm plants and flowers centered by a pool.

they don't provide the newspaper anymore so that you had to leave the premises and find a kiosk that sells them. not a big problem but..............

Awesome location , nice outside area although rooms coulf use a little updating . Biggest complaint- they should lite up thier sign better so that u can find the place , also putting a sign on 2nd office for after 9pm chk in would be great . [...]

You simple cannot get closer to the surf and sun than this. A soft sandy path leads through the dunes to the pristine white beach located directly at our doorstep.

The hotels free-form heated swimming pool is surrounded by attractive new outdoor furniture placed with your privacy in mind and designed to permit casual respites. Fall asleep listening to the sound of the waves, float away on a raft in the water, or curl up with a good book under one of the large canvas umbrellas, or you can enjoy the sounds of our music by the pool area. There is also a charming thatched TiKi Hut on the deck featuring an open wet bar and stainless Barbecue grill for our guests exclusive enjoyment. The entire beach side pool are is very private surrounded by lush tropical plantings and affords our guests spectacular views of the majestic Atlantic Ocean.

THE BIG DUMP BY THE SEA

Worst time that we have ever experienced. Hotel did not have confirmation from[...] of our reservation. Manager did not show up to check us in until 7am of the day after our reservation. Place is full of mold...not just spots an entire wall covered with black mold. (I have photos) Breakfast was 3 day old muffins, no juice, stale cereal. Don't be fooled by the photos on line. You have to double park, so beware you may wait hours for somebody to move their car so you can leave. Air conditioning was broke and good luck finding somebody to help you. All of the light bulbs were blown or just missing from the lamps. Lounge chairs are dirty and moldy. Bath towels arrived at 4:30 in the afternoon and was the size of a hand towel. The only thing this place has going for it is the location. I would rather be miles away from the beach than to endure another night at The Big Dump By The Sea!
