front desk staff very helpful, responsive to our need, answer any questions quickly, very informative; housekeeping did a good job, so it's very nice to come back to a clean, refreshed room after an exhausted day of sightseeing. breakfast food @ cafe in lobby tasted so so, overpriced for what we actually got, not a good value. Would stay @ hotel again but will not eat at the " seabreeze cafe".

Great location in terms of being near a supermarket, take-out food, and right on the beach. There was construction on all of the balconies while we were there, so not only could nobody use their balcony, but there was also drilling from 9-5 daily. I had to call twice when drilling was still going on well after 5pm, but they were responsive to my calls and stopped shortly after. Only other complaint was that the bed was not comfortable, and the pillows were flat.

Best hotel in Ft Lauderdale, amazing restaurant

  • SkinnySWFNYCStereotype
  • Nov 27, 2011
I am a snobby Manhattanite, and I approve of this hotel. My room was palatial! So much marble! The bathroom had a deep bathtub, a separate marble shower stall, and a separate bathroom stall, plus enough room outside the bathroom for a vanity area. Lovely. Shutters over the desk opening into a city view was a gorgeous touch. To get to the beach, you have to walk across a four-lane road, which is Ft. Lauderdale's ridiculous city planning mistake, but no reflection on this gorgeous hotel. Beautiful lobby. A bit of beachiness to the decor, but not too much. The hotel restaurant is a totally credible brasserie -- exactly the kind of French place that dots Manhattan, except with more personal space and nicer staff.

We chose the Atlantic Hotel after reading all of the reviews from other Hotels located on A1, Ft. Lauderdale, and to say the least, we were not disappointed. Our room which was ocean front had a fantastic view and a balcony. We enjoyed watching the beautiful sunrise each morning. The room was just wonderful with a hugh bathroom and a very nice kitchen area. Everything in the room was spotless. The staff was friendly and always ready to help with anything we needed. The location of the hotel is only a few blocks from all of the action and we were able to walk a few blocks to catch the water taxi, that will pretty much take you any where you wish to go. We just wanted rest and relaxation so it was a perfect location for us.

This a great location if you are cruising out of Ft Lauderdale as it is very close to the peirs. The hotel is nice and very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The room service food was very good, however, the staff it seems to have had difficulty understanding English and did not send us what we ordered. We were there on a rainy day and were awoken in the morning by someone using a leaf blower to dry off the passage way outside our room, which went on for about half an hour :( . I felt the price of the room was a little high for the room we were given as we were not in one of the tower rooms with a balcony but would probably stay there again.

Really pleasant stay!

  • HappyCouple2011
  • Aug 29, 2011
We were here in August, which is low season. We looked at several hotels before deciding on the Hilton Marina, and we were VERY happy we did. First of all upon check in we found that although Orbitz lists Queen room WITH balcony, there are NO Queens w/balcony, only King rooms. Diana at the front desk told me this was a common problem when booking through second party sites, like Orbitz, Travelocity, etc. I showed her my reservation. I was booked in a Queen room, no balcony and a 3rd floor room facing the 17th Street Bridge. Not what I had wanted at all. I asked her what could be done and she got us into a King w/balcony on the 7th floor overlooking the pool, marina, Ft. Lauderdale beach hotels and downtown. Amazing! All for just $10 extra per night. We stayed 2 weeks and it was well worth it! China Grill and other food areas were excellent, obviously a bit pricy but it is a Hilton. Also, $21 for self and $25 for valet parking per day were a bit steep and there are no other free parking areas close to the hotel, so if you have a car they pretty much have you there. If you want good dining at Ft. Lauderdale beach make sure to hit Spazio! It's a little Italian place and the food was so fantastic we ate there several times during our stay. And to be honest, most of the other restaurants in that area look pretty seedy and not very clean from what we saw. Also hit the Sawgrass Recreation area. It's 30 minutes by car and the Hilton offers a $3.00 discount coupon. So for about $35 bucks total for 2 people, you get a 30 minute airboat ride, and can visit the alligators and other animals in their little park. All in all, we had a great time and would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Ft. Lauderdale! Well done Hilton!

we had great holiday, the rooms are very clean and fresh and the service was very good, beds were very comfortable and bathroom up to date. The view from our room was sectactular, the pool was clean and very new, the pool surrounding was great, with yaughts and expensive ships and the intercoastal steps away from the complex, the crowd was great, quite and not to busy, overall a great hotel.

The hotel was in good location for what we needed. Close to the airport, spacious rooms, and breakfast included. One big concern was the cleanliness of the pool. But the value for the room was pretty good. The room didn't smell fresh when we first arrived, my husband had to borrow housekeeping's spray and spray the room.

  • Sep 29, 2011
The room had some issues with temperature. The air conditioning unit is right next to the bed so it seemed like you are too cold if you want it cold or too hot if you turned it off. Instead of having a unit, central air would have been nice. The staff was courteous, especially the shuttle driver. Great place to stay the night before a cruise departing the port since it's location is so close. There are decent dining options within walking distance or just a quick drive. Just make sure you know which way you are heading because some of the surrounding neighborhood does not seem the safest.

This hotel isn't really close to anything, ok - maybe the executive airport. Not in the greatest of neighborhoods. The hotel room was clean, but has evidence of being well used by not-so-considerate people. It was a clean place to sleep for a good price. I would stay again if I had a similar itinerary.

Amazing location on the beach, gorgeous amenities, staff was very nice but needs training - my room was not ready at 4pm, concierge couldn't operate the computer, manager was stressed out, the front desk was a little rude. Kudos to the cafe staff consistently excellent service and remembered my order from the day before! But what's up with the $30/day parking - seriously?? The front desk staff was phenomenal. Our room was not ready for check-in but they put a rush on it and upgraded us to a king sized bed for free. We asked the Concierge to recommend a Cuban restaurant and he recommended Catalina which was phenomenal - a must go for anyone in Ft. Lauderdale. The only down side was we didn't have a car and the hotel didn't have a shuttle to downtown so we had to take cabs which got very expensive. Rent a car if you plan to go as it will be cheaper in the long run.

surprise birthday get away

  • Kel Bell
  • Nov 22, 2011
I decided to surprise my boyfriend for his birthday with a get away to Florida. Being extremely impulsive I booked the hotel with only a few moments reviewing it online. I was very nervous after reading most of the reviews because they were quite negative. But this was a TERRIFIC trip for a relaxing trip! I asked for a balcony beach view room. Although there was no balcony, the view was a nice view of the beach that stretched from side to side. We were on the 6th South tower floor so we were above the trees and the beach tower's roof (which could very likely block a lower rooms view). I ordered champagne and a slice of chocolate cake to our room and not only was the cake delightful, the server came back with a bowl of strawberries after I told him it was my boyfriend's bday. The beach was a couple of steps down from the pool and a guy greeted us with towels and followed us down to show us our chairs and made them up for us. The only down side was it wasn't as close as the other hotels to the main strip of restaurants, but the other hotels weren't right on the beach either. It was only a 15 minute walk to my favorite restaurant so it wasn't that far down. The hockey game wasn't on in our room but we just walked downstairs to The Wreck Bar in the hotel where they had plenty of tv's and stations for everyone. We got to watch our Pens lose to the local Panthers, but who can complain when your in paradise?

We only had one evening here but the hotel is located direct ocean front, we were in room 524 and had an awesome view. This part of the hotel is the older part and a little small for an extended stay but other than that this place is a great stay and there are nicer rooms if you were going to be there for an extended stay. Everything you need is at this hotel such as restaurants, bar, pool, beach, shuttle etc.. Be aware that parking is $19.00 per night if you park yourself or valet park for $25.00 per night.

We stayed here for one night because it was close to the airport and it was a pleasant stay. Everything is spotless, the gym was nice, and the room was huge! Room service was also great for breakfast in bed in the morning!

Stayed overnight before embarking on cruise. Apparently, the shuttle service to the port is not complimentary, cost $8 each. The airport transporation was included. The hotel and rooms are very clean and comfortable. The restaurant was very good. We would definitely stay again.

Overall was a good experience at a great value. The pool is very small and not worth it but with the ocean and beaches so nearby not a big deal at all. The room and kitchenette was great. It was kind of a shock when I realized that for daily room service you had to pay an additional 3.99 per day?? But since the place was so affordable not a huge deal. The only negative was that the a/c made me sick after 2 days there. The manager was apologetic but not otherwise helpful.

BEDS TOO BIG

  • smokster
  • Jan 9, 2012
I am a short person and found the bed in my room way too big, in height to get into. Had a difficult time getting in the bed and getting out. Guests should have a choice of what kind of bed they prefer. If there was another room with a different bed in it, it should have been offered. Otherwise everything else was perfect.

On a budget this was a great find but still lacked alot to be a great vacation spot. The Parking situation was aweful to me. The Hotel dosn't run there own parking lot so prepare for nightly parking charges if there are any. We did pay for the Vallet service just to make sure we had parking. Lots wrong with our room but the bed was comfy and they did move us from the city view to the ocean view without a charge. That was a pleasant surprise and we were grateful. We have to say after reading all the reviews we were so afraid we had made a terrible mistake but we were all in all pleasantly surprised for a hotel on the ocean on a budget.

Old and grungy. Bathtub looked dirty with hairs still on the wall. My daughter refused to go in it and I can't blame her. The curtain looked dirty too... The bathroom door didn't close and the door to the bedroom seemed about to give up too. Even when locked, there was a gap... The extra blanket was covered with bleach stains and it doesn't make it look inviting. However, the beds were soft and comfortable enough, even though they made you roll towards the other person in the middle. I love old charm, but there, it's definitely no longer charming. I would not recommend it!

The hotel is in a great location (5 minutes from Lauderdale by the sea). The staff was very friendly and helpful. My only gripes are that the room smelled a bit funky, a HUGE cockroach paid me a visit the first night and it took over two hours for someone to fix our toilet. Other than that the property was beautiful.
