Pleasant Staff with emphasis on cleanliness. Great location next to Brighthouse Field and dining areas. Still do not understand the 19N address when it appears to be off of 19S. But nonetheless, an overall pleasurable experience.

I'm a single woman traveling alone and the staff gave me an upstairs room next to the office. I stayed 3 nights and felt cozy. I'm broke so this fit my budget oerfectly, I'm glad I didn't waste more money on a different hotel because when your lying on the beach, it doesn't matter how much your hotel room cost. The shower pressure was AMAZING! i also enjoyed a nightly bubble bath and the free HBO.

Stayed here on two different times. 1st time for 8 days, second time for 4 days. They have a friendly staff, a great pool. The breakfast was yummy with a large selection of eats. The room was comfortable with a lounge chair. TV was a newer model and was clear and easy to operate. Also nice to have a resturant nearby that you could walk to.

Just a place to stay; nothing special

The pool was not clean, and we never went in the three days we were there due to being scary. The room smelled bad all three days. It was a fair price and 20 minutes from the ocean, but we would not stay here again. The continental buffet was lacking in variety and seating. It was too crowded to get food in the morning.

My boyfriend and I went to Phillies Spring training for 4 days, 3 nights and stayed at the Days Inn. Was a short drive to Bright House Field (about 5 mins) but about a 10-15 min drive to Clearwater Beach. With traffic, which was heavy the weekend we were there (3/18-22), it makes for at least a 1/2 hr drive to the beach, which was not ideal for us.
The hotel had a small pool and jacuzzi with limited number of chairs/loungers around. It was fine for what we used it for, just some sun/pool before and after the games and nice to come home to from the beach. Nothing special, definitely old and could use updating, but worked just fine for us.
Our room was old and outdated, but had a bed and bathroom so we were set. Also, had a little table and chairs, tv, and free wi-fi. I probably wouldn't want to stay there any longer than we did...but for a short stay on a budget, it's ok.
All in all, if your looking to do a cheap trip to Clearwater, it's not a bad place to stay. However, keep in mind it is a little whiles from the beach and it is not a luxury hotel by any means!

You get what you pay for

I woud not have been so dissapointed in this hotel if they had not sold them selves as such a premiere Howard Johnson. It really could have been if it hadn't been right next to a car dealership that played music as loud as they could all day. Then room was nice enough, with only minimal water damage. On the positive side, the hotel was such that I didn't wish to hang around, and I really got out and saw all of Tampa and Clearwater Beach.

I like to be short and sweet, well, like all guys do. Candlewood was great, staff nice, location good. 20 minutes to Clearwater Beach, love it. Going back in December. See ya then.

Hotel was booked, spring break and Phillies Spring Training season. But the price was reasonable, considering all that, I'm sure the rates are lower the rest of the year. Very ordinary accomodations, but reasonably clean and decent, proximity to the ballpark was great, you could walk.

We reserved a non smoking ended up getting a smoking room (that smelled bad & the ac didn't work). The management gave us a new room (non smoking) that was ten times better! Beds very comfortable in second room! Pool & hot tub were super clean!

Good Hotel for the $

We stayed at this hotel because we were in town for a beach wedding and liked what we read from the reviews. As a mom of 2 boys, 2 and 5 I wanted to be as close as possible to the wedding site without breaking the bank with the necessary conviniences of home. We stayed in the large efficiency #39, 2 queen beds, two tables 6 chairs, kitchette with fridge, microwave, dishes for four, a couple of pots and silverware, 2 burner hotplate, and coffee maker (no coffee supplied). This was a great location, across from the beach, next door to Frenchy's South (HUGE PLUS) and McDonalds and close to everything including a Walgreens. Although its an older hotel, circa 1950's, and the pool and elevator are small, the bathroom was clearly recently remodeled and very clean the linens and bed dress clean and pretty. The hotel is a "mom and pop" establishment which has it's plus' and minuses. Nothing fancy, but perfect for the money. Plus - Location, Room Size, room amenities, windows and great balcony. Minuses = parking is TIGHT if you have to park under the building in a mid size or bigger. BUT it's FREE which is a plus on the beach compared to $15 a day. The carpet was dirty, so much so that walking out of the shower, 4 feet to the bed, your feet were grey. While I realize it's on the beach, I still think this is something that needs to be addressed. Lastly, if you make your reservation online, and you are not asked if there are children, you need to make a point to let them know BEFORE check in. We called the front desk twice for towels, open (9am-9pm) eventually had to go get them ourselves but each time we called, we had to hear (with attitude)about how we have two kids that we didnt put on our reservation and we were made to feel like we were trying to cheat them, and how they saw that we had a visitor and this was not allowed. Come to find out it's because kids over 9 pay an additional fee. Ours are clearly under 9 (just turned 2 and 5). I addressed the attitude we had received the night before, explained they were 5 and under and that our "visitor" was my father in law who stayed less than 10 minutes, long enough to say hello to his grandchildren and drop off the shirt for the wedding, we received an apology for the misunderstanding. OVERALL, I GIVE THIS ONE A 4 out of 5, I will stay again as miscommunication is no reason to down the hotel as a whole.

While it appears by the address that this hotel is on a main road, its actually on an access road and the sign is actually below the highway, making the hotel very difficult to find.
While the hotel was not full of amenities, I found the hotel to be appropriate to its cost. The room was clean.
The hotel was appropriate for my needs, but I wouldn't suggest it for families that plan an extended duration.

Spent a nice weekend at the Hilton in Clearwater Beach, Florida. The hotel is in a great location. The room was clean, comfy bed, with a nice view of the harbor.
The only comment about the room - the airconditioning unit was very loud [they provide ear plugs :) ] and the bathrooms do not have vents or a fan so it gets very hot after a shower.
I will definitely stay at this hotel again....

The hotel was clean but old and in need of some TLC--chipped tile, worn blankets, etc. We travelled between Clearwater, Tampa, and St. Pete and even made a trip to Orlando. The location was good with lots of restaurants nearby.

Read previous reviews for background and they were pretty spot on. Front desk staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
The room was a little ordinary and my expectation was more. Facing and trim on the cabinents were falling off. Very few kitchen utensils. Refrigerator was nice, clean and very useful.
Air conditioning was ordinary. Fan was extremely loud and temperature regulation was manual (ME!) turning the unit off and on.
Stay would have been more pleasurable if property had a crib. Staff indicated they had one and it was broken. Too much open area for a 17-month old!!
Overall, it was OK for the price. Conveniently located.

I needed to get away because of my health. It wasn't too far away from home yet far enough away that I could recuperate. The only thing was the headboard actually fell out of the wall and almost hit me in the head while I was making up the bed one morning.

We stayed at the St. Petersburg Clearwater Courtyard by Marriott over Christmas. It was the perfect location for us - right across the Bayside Bridge from Safety Harbor and across the Howard Frankland from Tampa. Perfect location with easy access to everything!

Hard to find, must make a U-turn if coming back from the beach. Poorly marked sign cannot see until you get to the hotel. The hotel was great, most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Great services, pool & hot tob were fairly clean but nice. Private balconies on 2nd & 3rd floors. Great central location getting to the beach or headed to Tampa Would definantly stay again!

the breakfast was super, the rooms extra clean, the people was amazing i loved everything about it we got there earlier than we expected and with no problem at all they let us in the hotel no charge. i love the room comfortable and we could adjust the ac however we want it . love the colors decoration and everything is so close . all the stores restaurants plus the hot tub and pool were very nice. i would rcomemde 100 %

The hotel was pretty good for the price except that the toilet clogged twice. I had to have them send the handyman to unclogged wich was not a nice thing to do... besides that everythimng was pretty good, breakfast ok... But the laundry was only not good...

Geographically close to where we needed to be and good for two, and sometimes three people to spend time together and share meals. Sofa bed very uncomfortable. Would only use for a child. Staff was extremely accommodating.

This hotel was conveniently located for our business seminar as well as being close to the beach! Having the kitchen helped to keep extra travel costs to a minimum. We were able to check in early and the desk staff were extremely friendly and very helpful!
Although the breakfast that is served has a number of different options, I would have liked to see "real" eggs (poached, hard-boiled, etc) instead of what seemed to be the powdered eggs that are so often served at hotels.

It was a beautiful hotel, great location on beach and nice amenities. I did not like the additional charges for printing forms and using the internet in the business center. I think the additional resort fees should include a minimum amount of time and printing at the business center. They closed parts of the sun decks for private meetings on a daily basis. This was annoying. I did enjoy my stay and would recommend this resort.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel while in town for a wedding. It was close to all major highways, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the price was very reasonable. We didn't eat the breakfast but it always looked good. I would recommend this place!

Nicely modern building especially attractive at night. Clean, comfortable room, above average bed and eggs and sausage for breakfast. Free USAToday in the morning. Very close to PIE airport. I'll be back.
