Convenient to everything

  • Family Vacationer V2
  • Dec 29, 2012
We took a mini family vacation in Washington at this hotel. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast at the hotel is incredible at a fairly reasonable price. Its hard to beat the location of the hotel. Its walking distance to many good restaurants, as well as the metro station. The only downside to this hotel was high parking rates ($32+tax) per night. Also, if you are a light sleeper, you might want to consider a room not facing the main streets. Overall very pleased with our stay at the hotel and will definitely consider staying there again.

As a long time DC resident, now back in DC for business, I can't think of a better place to stay. Metro 1 block away. Great restaurants. Walk downtown. Staff and rooms are superb. If you can get off-week value pricing, this may be the best value in DC.

Hotel is in a qute neighborhood but within a very short walk from the Dupont Circle.where all the activities are. You have countless choices of food. We got a grande suite which is roomy and very clean. Staff are very friendly. The time we were there, the main dining room was closed but you can get food all day from the smaller breakfast/bar area. The room rate includes parking at the rear of the hotel.

  • Kali143
  • Dec 3, 2012
The staff was very friendly. There was a lot of construction going on when we went (i.e. elevator repair, carpet replacement) so we had to use the steps because there was only 1 elevator. So, it's good for future stays, but slightly inconvenient for this stay. There is a lot of construction going on outside but I couldn't hear it from my room. VERY close to dupont circle and multiple metro stations. Close to National Geographic Museum.

The decor of the hotel is very interesting. We liked the shabby chic attitude and the trendy lounge & bar. The rooms aren't anything special, but the design and details are fun and pleasant. The king bed was very comfy. I'd recommend it as a change of pace from the ordinary.

Hotel was well located for my sightseeing stay in DC. Very convenient with Starbucks located in the building for a quick grab of caffeine and such. Accomodations are nice with everyone doing a great job. Reseached other parking options, such as, leaving vehicle at airport and riding Metro or using other parking lots (they run about $25 a night). Hotel was pricey at $42 a night plus tax ( think $50 a day) for parking but the convenience factor made it acceptable. Drove to National Cathedral and Georgetown so wanted vehicle handy.

The staff was AMAZING!!! So friendly and helpful! The hotel was a 25 minute walk from the White House (so very close to everything you would want to see in DC). There were only two things that could have been better. The hallways and elevators couldn't keep up with the heat outside so it was pretty hot outside the room. Second, they have a "continental breakfast" but it's not free so plan to pay $20 or so for breakfast.

Dupont Circle hotel provides plenty of red-hot reasons to fall in loveThere's no shortage of drama at Rouge, a Kimpton Hotel, where the name only hints at the scarlet fever inside. Guest rooms and common areas at this ultra-hip Washington, D.C. hotel sizzle with red floors, red walls and Bar Rouge, the hottest spot in the neighborhood. Choose from a host of room options at Rouge, a Kimpton Hotel, from  450-square-foot deluxe rooms to bunk bed suites perfect for families or groups of friends. All feature black-and-white graphic art, chrome accessories and floor-to-ceiling red upholstered headboards.  HighlightsHosted wine hour each evening in the lobby living roomFitness center and in-room spa servicesPet-friendly amenitiesCentral Washington D.C. location near the White House, Smithsonian Museums, National Mall, Washington Monument RoomsRouge, a Kimpton Hotel delivers style in spades, but there's more to this boutique hotel near Dupont Circle. Look for 37-inch HDTVs with premium cable channels, fully stocked mini-bars (fees apply), down comforters, plush robes, private voicemail and room service. Pets aren't just welcome -- they're given loads of love and attention: Pet treats, feeding bowls, a mat, bottled water, a bed, pick-up bags and a list of pet sitters and doggie daycare facilities…all provided at no additional charge. FeaturesTurn up the heat with an in-room massage or body treatment delivered with Kerstin Florian organic body and skin care products. Inquire with the concierge to arrange for treatments - the revitalizing hot stone massage might be especially appropriate.  DiningThe motto at Bar Rouge is "eating sexy since 2002," and it's easy to see why. The space is awash in top-to-bottom crimson and furnished with metal tables and black cube ottomans that pop against the background of primary color. Behind the marble bar, a flat-panel monitor displays a series of pastoral scenes, paired with thumping electronica. There are plenty of dinner options at Rouge, a Kimpton Hotel, but the red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting are the biggest temptations. The rooms were big, comfortable bed, friendly staff and only slight improvement could be used in the restaurant with better service in the morning. It looked like they had only 1 person working. Otherwise, it was a great stay.

Great hotel

We had a great time at this hotel. The only criticism from my husband was that there were no coffee making facilities in the room. We were there during superstorm Sandy and the hotel did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible while we couldn't leave. It was very much appreciated. In a great location, for the price it was very close to the White House and the National Mall. It is also very close to DuPont Circle the vibrant gay district of Washington DC. The staff were friendly and the head housekeeper made a point of checking that we had been happy with the service on the day we left. We had. I would happily stay here again.

Nice place, close to Metro and many restaurants and George Washington University. The pillows were not the best but the room was comfortable otherwise. [...] advertised free parking on the weekends however the hotel only has valet parking which was $38 for the night.

Very Nice- Staff very friendly

  • Anonymous
  • Apr 9, 2010
We went to Washington DC to visit the Cherry Blossom festival and downtown exhibits. Metro rail right around the corner so we gave the car to valet for parking. With Metros easy access to sights of DC we had fun. Staff was very friendly and helpful giving information and recommendations. Room was very clean and though we were on a major street we did not hear a sound from traffic. We would recommend this hotel and will go back. Only problem was getting our car back from valet parking took close to 45 minutes when we checked out and we could not find many small kid friendly restaurants nearby(within short walking distance). There was a restaurant and nice small pub-like bar within the hotel. Usual food and looked very nice and good but we wanted to eat out of the hotel.

I spent a Saturday night at this hotel. It is situated in a really nice area but there was no parking available on the street and I had to pay about $26 for garage parking in the basement of the hotel. The hotel is very elegant and the staff is very helpful and courteous. The hotel was worth the price. I would definitely reccomend this hotel to anyone.

I have stayed here before and it is a great place to stay. The only problem I had was I had reserved two rooms; one king and one with 2 queens. When I arrived they said that my reservation came across as 2 kings. I had my confirmatory email with the reservation as I made it but they still could not help me. They were sold out of queens. So two folks had to sleep in one bed versus having a bed of their own.

Great Location!

  • Louisiana Vacationeer.
  • Dec 17, 2012
It's a great hotel! Don't expect much from the minibar and there's no ice-machine. So you have to order buckets of ice from the front desk. If you're not used to sleeping near a busy intersection that might prove a little troublesome. Other than that the staff were super helpful, and the location was incredibly convenient.

Good for a business stay

  • Ratpick
  • Dec 9, 2012
Very futuristic and minimal in design, to the point that I spent 15 minutes figuring out how to work the lights! Never did find a way to turn on the fan in the bathroom. Bed was very comfortable, room easy to sleep in, but small with no table or chair, which would not have served well if I had to write anything. Has an iron & ironing board and hair blower in room, but no coffee service. Restaurant limited but food is good and service quick. Really excellent bar service for a large crowd from my conference. Good staff all around.

Wonderful Experience!!

Enjoyed everything about my stay at the hotel. Staff, especially valet service, always friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and extremely clean. The location is great and near so many wonderful things to do in D.C. The only downside to the visit was parking. Street parking was available but valet parking was $40 a night - which I am sure is usual for the area but a bit pricey for me. Would definitely stay there again, though. Simply loved it.

This was a nice hotel with mostly friendly staff. It's 4 big uphill blocks from DuPont Circle, feels like way longer with your bags, but is also close to Adams Morgan, which is really nice. It was very clean, with a bathroom that could have been larger. My only real complaint would be the quality of the pillows, and I would have preferred a cushier mattress, but all in all it was very nice and quiet. Can't believe anyone still charges for WiFi though.

Really Awesome for Price

  • Sleek and Cheap
  • Dec 12, 2012
Overall, the hotel was clean, modern, and well-maintained. I loved the room and the view of the street below. The bed was comfortable, neat, and clean. Most of the staff members were incredibly friendly and professional. However, one of the gentlemen who brought the meal I ordered through room service was very quiet, stoic, and not particularly friendly. When I asked for an additional condiment, he never returned with it. In terms of transportation, the hotel is not particularly close to a metro station, though you could walk to it; but cab fair to most parts of the city is pretty inexpensive. Cabs are always available at the hotel entrance. But if you will be bothered by the sound of the doormen's cab whistles, ask for a room that is not directly over the entrance. I definitely would stay at this hotel again, especially for the discounted price.

The hotel is in very nice shape, feels very new. Valet parking is the only option unless you use a different parking area. I was disappointed with the workout facility as it was fairly limited and small. The bed was comfortable, room was nice, I wish Westin would start offering free internet in rooms like most other hotel chains.

Great hotel convenient for White House and National Mall Smithsonian Museums etc. Metro yards from Hotel at end of block. Wifi hit and miss in Public areas. Breakfast dining excellent. Some redevelopment going on but not interfering too much with visit. Could do with more seating in foyer. Good gift shop tucked away at back of Escalators.

We stayed at Circle One for 5 days. We used the kitchen facilities for breakfast each day. It was equipped with pots, pan, dishes etc and we had the option of a more complete set of utensils which we did not need. The hotel is close to a hospital and some people might be bothered by the frequency of siren noises but it did not bother us. The gym facility was small but adequate for our purposes. The staff was great. The doorman greeted us on arrival and departure EVERY day. There is some construction going on it the street below. It can be noisy.

Great location, and very comfortable.

  • DerekTXTravler
  • Nov 23, 2012
The Quincy was a great hotel. Very convient to both Farragut North and West Metro stations (only a few blocks). Also, Georgetown, and Dupont Circle are within walking distance. The hotel is in the middle of the business district, so you have to walk to find food on the weekends, but other than that, it was an excellent location. The room was large with a king bed, sectional sofa, flat screen, large ceiling to floor mirror, microwave, and mini-fridge. The bed was very comfortable with lots of fluffy pillows. My only complaints were that there was no breakfast service, only coffee. Although there were some breakfast places nearby. Also the Wi-fi was absolutely terrible. It went in and out of service and also while in service, it was so slow. If I was on business, I would have been extremely frustrated and dissapointed. Overall, a clean, comfortable, and convenient hotel for a good value.

This small hotel sandwiched between an office building and a restaurant is very unassuming and could be easily missed for it's small simple lobby. However, when you get up to the guest rooms they are impressively large, modern, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and very helpful. And, an added bonus, the towels were full size, not the normal tiny hotel towels.

Classic and Sophisticated DC Hotel

  • bebo12
  • May 15, 2012
This is the 3rd Fairmont Hotel stay for us. Our room was less lux than when we made rez directly through hotel. But even so, this is an outstanding property with lots of amenities. The lobby and sitting areas are gorgeous and generally quiet. It is not a 'family' hotel in the sense of little kids running around, but IS a family hotel in familiy events and reunions that are more sophisticated and classy. That is a good description generally for the hotel- classy. The rooms could be updated, but are generally comfortable and quiet. Our tiny balcony was a great way to get fresh air! Staff are friendly and accomodating.

The hotel is as would expect from a Fairmont - pretty, classy, great service. The rooms being nice, good size, clean with lovely lovely toiletries. Great location to Georgetown, 10-15 min walk. Only thing we were surprised about is the size of the hotel bar in the lobby - bar itself is very small and not much bar seating but comfortable couches abound in the lobby if this is more your thing. The inner courtyard is very cute with fairy lights adorning all the trees. We had a great stay though the hotel seemed quiet. Would recommend and come back.

Great Stay

My husband and I had a very nice time at the Marriott. The staff was very pleasent, helpful, and friendly. Our room was also very comfortable, the only small down side was the circulation in our room was a bit poor so our towels never really dried (leaving us to need extra towels) BUT overall everything else was great so it really wasn't a problem. The workout facility was also very nice, I am upset we didnt have time to fit in a workout and the fresh fruit was a great touch! We would stay at the Marriott again for sure.

I stayed here when dropping my daughter off at Georgetown. The location is perfect, and I was upgraded without requesting it to a large, corner room that was just terrific. I used the valet parking rather than try to do it myself (I was in a rented SUV which is larger than I'm used to), and the staff was courteous, careful and prompt. The room was spotless, and when I got back from moving my daughter in, I got a very yummy burger at a reasonable price from room service. The weekend pricing was about the best I could find so close to Georgetown. All in all, a great value.
