It was ok. A little noisy at night. Where I'm from, they don't charge $25 extra a night for parking, Also the continental breakfast was below par. Definitely not worth the price of $14 for powdered eggs. Thankfully it was free and Mcdonalds was across the street!

100 year old building that started as luxury apartments and is now an upscale hotel. Next to convention center, walkable (tho not really close) to most DC attractions. I was warned on checking in of construction across the street and offered an inside facing room with less noise (which I took). They also asked if I wanted a work desk. The room included earplugs none the less (not needed). Unlike many chains, still has ceramic mugs for coffee in the room. Comfortable bed and accommodation in a smallish room. Promotional price made it a fantastic value.

New years eve getaway
-
James07
- Jan 8, 2012
I was in the hotel for a 2 day visit for new years eve. Hotel was very little occupied and some of the upper floors I was told were in renovation. Due to the holiday it was not work going on. The room I got was at 4th floor not what I expected (with the Capitol view) but quiet, nice, clean. Location was in the proximity of the restaurant we had new years eve reservation and of the "Mall"; Capitol is within 10 minutes walking distance. This is the second time I used this hotel; everything is good just a bit pricey and hotel parking is expensive.

Good stay but hotel being renovated
-
PrisonerPartPete
- Jan 3, 2012
This hotel was a good find for the price. A luxury hotel in DC for under $100 a night is a find. Very comfortable bed with choice of several pillows. However as of January 1 this hotel was being renovated. The room we stayed in showed some signs of wear but was in very good condition, overall. (The TV needed replacement as the colors were askew.) The biggest negative was the sound that could be heard from the lounge or other rooms (we were on the second floor). Please do not get the wrong idea, the noise wasn't terribly loud and didn't keep us awake, but it was noticiable.

I had an excellent room. My room was lovely. My co-worker had a tiny room facing a construction site with a very low shower-head.

good experience overall except the water in the pool was a little on the cold side. Also everynight in my room I could hear a disturbing sound that seem to be coming from behind the walls or from above (movies surround sound type noise) In the lobby restaurant there was a waitress taking our order that seem to be in a bit of a rush.

Nice clean hotel in good location. Walking distance to White House, Washington Monument and most of the Smithsonian Museums. Hotel has nice resturaunts and a Starbucks. Nice indoor pool.
Only issue we have is that the rooms are small. We booked a room with a double queen bed and when we arrived only thing available was a room with only one king bed. They managed to get us a two bed room on the 2nd night but still, the rooms are small.

The rooms were very nice and we got an upgrade at check-in. The location is on a fairly quiet street but walk a couple blocks and you'll find some nice local restaurants. Walk the other way a couple of blocks and you are right at the top of Capitol Hill. The breakfast buffet was great but limited seating.
