Older LQ that needs some business friendly updates. Outlets for plugging in laptops and chargers require crawling for access. Iron would not heat past barely warm. Remote for TV in the exercise room was busted. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice to have the City Limits Diner connected to the hotel for easy access to good food with a nice variety of dishes and a killer bourbon pecan tart.

I needed to be in NYC early in the morning and booked this property for it's location near the train station. I wished I had the time to stay longer! Staff was very professional, friendly and helpful! Food was excellent and had a beautiful presentation! Only negative was that the pool was closed for renovations otherwise I would of given it a "5" star rating! Wouldn't hestitate to stay here again!

We arrived this hotel late at nightaround 10:30. The staff were very nice. Little worried because it is located next to the railroad but the room was very quite. After 13 hour flight we were bit hungry but there was no room service available after 11. No restaurant was open in the hotel. We had to drove out to eat. There were no valet service staff available and a desk staff helped out. A few cars were waiting when we went out. Other than that it was a nice stay. Noon check out time helped us get enough rest after long flight.

Clean room, in a decent section of Stamford

It's across the street from Barcelona (restaurant/bar) and we had a good-sized and clean room. The staff we're ok, although the valet service was pretty terrible. We were there for a wedding, and found that at least 3 of the 6 cars in our party were lost at some point during the 1 night stay. I would stay there again, but would call down to the valet about 30 minutes before I want to leave just to be safe.
The rooms with a terrace/ balcony look like they'd be a great time, and don't seem that much more expensive. Also, most rooms seem to have a mini fridge, and we brought our own refreshments for after the bars closed.

It was the perfect location, we were able to grab a bite right across from the hotel and not have to worry about spending money on a cab.
The staff was not the friendliest...but the rooms were beautiful & warm!

Free breakfast and friendly staff made it a pleasant stay, but it is right next to I-95 and you hear all of the commotion that comes along with that location. There were bugs in my room, but all in all it was a clean room.

Had a nice stay in this hotel in Stamford. The staff were very pleasant at check in and it was a quick and easy process. The information on places in Stamford was very good and gave great insight into restuarants in Stamford. The one downside was there was a strange smell in our room, which smelt like the carpet was wet. But the room was comfortable and quite good value for money. I would definately suggest it to anyone.

A pleasant surprise. Hearty, hot breakfast, very friendly staff, terrific value. A morning newspaper might have been nice, the water pressure in the bathroom was anemic, and the parking (which is included) was limited. But these were minor annoyances or inconveniences and I would stay there again.

The room was clean, quiet and peaceful. The evening staff member was a bit grumpy but the gal in the morning went way above and beyond to solve a VERY minor issue. Breakfast was good. Nothing fancy but certainly plenty of food.

We were in Stamford for a family reunion and stayed five nights. The hotel is centrally located and walking distance from the mall, restaurants and downtown. The train station is a few blocks away for easy access to NYC. The room was clean and spacious. The towels were more fluffy than most similar hotels. Wireless internet access was very good and easy to use. The room AC was somewhat inadequate and the continental breakfast was less than average. Staff were friendly and accommodating and allowed us to extend our checkout time one hour. Overall, it was a great value relative to other options in Stamford.

Stamford Plaza Hotel - not worth it.

Synopsis - there are plenty of other hotels in the area that are newer and nicer. There is no need to stay here unless you are attending a convention here.
Stamford Plaza Hotel has a great "atrium" and a decent gym. Walking into the room is like walking back in time a bit. The old school TV is about 20 ft from the bed and there were cigarette burns in the rug. Not a good sign. But at least the bed was clean and the linens looked good. The next morning I realize my breakfast card was never picked up. Again, not a good sign. The following morning at 8am, I am awakened by a gospel singer. Apparently a church had rented the convention space. It is all you could hear throughout the hotel.

the refurbishment has been excellent and the rooms very light and pleasant, great shower. All staff happy and helpfull. Only negative comment, the breakfast hot buffet food a bit on the cool side even at 07:30.

I was only in the Stamford area for one night. Due to last minute booking the hotel I normally stay was booked. For a one night stay I found the hotel, clean, orderly and the bed comfortable.
Breakfast left much to be desired. But for one night it met my needs.

My friends & I stayed for Jerry Springer. It was a clean room. The breakfast could've been better. Overall, I would stay there again. It was a really good deal.

Huge suites, okay service

The suite was huge and lavishly decorated in a dated, Japanese-like style. Indifferent service, minimal breakfast. At check-in, several harshly-worded warnings against noisy parties suggest that they may have problems in this regard.
