This was the second time we stayed at Cedar Lodge Motel. It's just a short drive to the Hot Springs pool and near many fast-foot restaurants. Again, we found it to be perfect for our needs-just a comfy, clean, quiet place to rest after a activity-filled day. We checked in after hiking to Hanging Lake! This is a must hike for any Coloradan or anyone who wants to see a beautiful aquamarine lake with a beautiful waterfall! Short but pretty steep-1020' gained in 1.2 miles. On Day 2 we hiked along Grizzly Creek, another picturesque hike with many photo opportunities and a little fishing along the way. A soak in the motel hot tub felt good after two days of hiking. This motel is definitely a good value. We'll return again soon. The one area that could be improved was the breakfast in the Breakfast Room. Just minimal offerings-nothing special.

Very Nice All Around - Location could be better

This was the second stay at this location for my wife and I. The service was top notch, breakfast was perfect, the room was immaculate. We've stayed at other places in town and they are not nearly as well equipped or modern. The pool is lacking, but considering you have the hot springs nearby that's easy to get over. They provide activities, amenities and other great things when you stay - if you're looking for a top notch place to stay and don't mind a few minutes of travel into town, then you have to stay here.

Our room, esp. the 2 room suite, worked great for our family. We had plenty of room and everything was in mostly good condition, clean, and comfortable. Our room was quiet and the beds were comfortable. The events at the hotel in the evening were fun too. Having several restaurants and a Target across the parking lot was very convenient. It was a quick (<5 minutes) trip to downtown and hot springs and a fairly direct 20-30 minute drive to Sunlight Mountain.
Couple of things weren't great. Breakfast was incredibly crowded around 8-8:30am every morning (hard to find a place to sit, hard to get to the food, out of food frequently when we finally got there). Seems like the setup there wasn't as good as other Residence Inns we've stayed at. Also several little things weren't quite ideal in our room (lights burned out, remotes not working, no schedule of events, etc).
It was also a little frustrating trying to use a rewards certificate to get a free night (I have Marriott Silver Status from my work travel). The hotel couldn't put us into a 2 bedroom suite we had reserved for most of our trip. Instead, we had to stay in a one bedroom suite for our free night and then move to a 2 bedroom suite for the rest of the trip (kind of a pain with a bigger family, esp when your trying to get out the door first thing in the morning to go skiing). I've probably spent 30+ nights in Marriott hotels the past 1-2 years for work. I expected more when I finally tried to use my rewards.
All in all, we were happy with our experience and would stay again. It seems like the hotel could pay a little more attention to the details though.

The Ramada in Glenwood Springs was chosen by us since they had reasonable priced suites. The rooms were very spacious, The carpet was dated and patched, the appliances were dated with a small dorm refrigerator and a microwave on the counter so the space was taken up. The cook-top had 4 burners with one that had only on and off. The front room had a wall where the fireplace once was and tube type tv. In the master there was a king bed, very comfortable with a desk and chair with a tv that was also tube type. The channel selections on the tv's were good. The bath was both closet and sink, bath-tub and toilet area separate, tub was a bubble tube, again very dated. Down stairs was an indoor pool and hot tub with laundry facilities. All were clean. The place was spacious, but the cleaning people would always forget to set out something. When we got there I did a quick inventory and found no forks, and two spoons missing. They could get an inventory sheet to let you know what is suppose to be there. On other days the cleaning people would forget to bring towels even though they took the old ones. The kitchen towels were never changed out, so we did not use them after the frist day or two. They did not bring in coffee, bath mats, soap and other toiletries. I would still recommend since it is very close to everything. Just around the corner from the turn to Aspen and off I70. Hot springs is close, 5 minutes, places to eat are close. and Lobby offered some good Christmas/New Year photo ops. I would stay again, just hope they would change the ugly green carpet that was patched.

Nothing fancy, rooms need updating, but the location near the hot springs is great, especially for the price. Thought we were getting a suite, though, and we did not. I might pay a little more next time and stay somewhere just a little nicer.

The staff at this hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable, and included everything I needed. My only complaint was that when I arrived to eat breakfast at 9 AM, much of the food was already gone. I was still able to eat a decent breakfast, but I would have appreciated it if more of the food items were available up until 9:30 AM.

The rooms were clean with nice sheets temperature in the room was perfect. Bathroom was clean, with plenty of soaps, shampoos, towels, whatever. They also let you use the indoor pool and fitness center at the Hampton Inn next door. And I did try the pancake maker and it will hands down be the best automated pancakes I can ever recall eating. Actually the breakfast buffet was pretty complete. My one disappointment may be more of a Cheaptickets problem, because for some reason, according to the fire route map, I got the smallest room in the whole motel by a long shot. I wish Holiday Inn would have given me a better room, I'm pretty sure they weren't full. Of course, I didn't make any ask anything about it when I was there.

Good location - about 2 blocks from Hot Springs Pool and about 4 blocks from "downtown". Rooms are clean and pleasant, grounds are pleasant.
Check-in was disorganized, and housekeeping wasn't done with room, even though we checked in a 5 pm (took about 10 more minutes).

It's a typical motel room. Good price and good location (close to the hot springs pool). We figured we would be spending most of our time at the pool that night so it didn't make sense to splurge at an expensive hotel.

The Coolest Guy In The World

The hotel front desk staff was excellent and very helpful. They even had a toothbrush when my girl had forgotten hers at home. The room was clean when we got there but it was never cleaned while we stayed. We didn't really need it to be cleaned or made except we had to go to the front desk to get towels to shower with. We were on the first floor and the noise was horrible. Between the parking lot, kids running up and down the hallway and the cleaning crew starting their rounds earlier, we were not able to relax as we had hoped. Not a bad place but definitely not our first choice.

My family really loved this hotel. I was told that the hotel has only been open for about 1 yr. Everything about the hotel was new. The location was very convenient. We were only a few minutes from our white water rafting excursion and the downtown shops and restaurants. Behind the hotel we found the Community Center's bike/hiking trails that we were allowed to use. They were awesome! Durring our trip we also went to the Yampah Vapor caves and hiked to Hanging Lake. This was a great trip!

The staff was very nice and willing to help. The hotel was in a wonderful location, very convenient to stores. It was a beautiful hotel and was very well upkept.

A great motel for the price

I stayed at this motel based on the other positive reviews, and I wasn't disappointed.
The rooms were cozy and clean and the attention to the small details made the rooms feel more like a hotel than a motel. The noise wasn't bad at all considering how close to the highway and train tracks the motel is. The breakfast was very average, but I expected that based on the price.
One thing that would have made it nicer is if they had more blankets or a comforter for the winter time. The room air got very dry after running the heater for an hour or so, so we shut it off and it got a bit cold.
Overall I would recommend it for a night or two if you're visiting Glenwood Springs and are looking for a bargain.

Great Get away!

The room was spotless, with a comfortable bed, refrigerator, microwave, flat screen tv and sofa. We enjoyed the mountain veiw from the patio and the free public transit system. The breakfast was much better than the average cereal and yogurt you typically find. We also enjoyed a complimentary beverage during happy hour. This is the best hotel visit we have had for the price.

My husband and I decided to go there on our way to Aspen. We stayed the night and were treated to a hot breakfast. It included eggs, sausage, fruit,cereal and even a waffle maker. The day before we stayed at a Hilton Garden Inn in Denver Cherry Creek and paid double what we paid at this
hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel because everything was great!

Didn't spend much time in the hotel. Went hiking to hanging lake, enjoyed the yampah caves and the hot springs. Lots to do in Glenwood!!! The hotel needed coffee pots in the rooms.

Great hotel, but make sure you don't get charged twice

This is one of my favorite mountain hotel getaways. It's right next to the Colorado River and the double queen rooms are very spacious and include a refrigerator and a couch.
As some reviewers have mentioned, the carpets are old and the side doors were not locked at night. These were minor issues to me, but worth mentioning.
The only problem I had was I found out the next day that the hotel charged me again even though I had prepaid through Orbitz. I called and a clerk said other people had the same problem so he had me call a manager the next day. I did get a refund 5 days later, but it took a couple of calls.
It may have been a fluke, but it was an inconvenience.
Besides that, my experience at this hotel was positive.

It was very easy to find, right of the interstate. Staff was friendly and place was clean. The river is right out the back of the hotel and there was a nice sidewalk. Only recommendation, bring a towel, the ones provided are TINY.
