Denver Hotels
Denver is the capital and largest city of Colorado. Known
as "The Mile-High City", Denver sits at an altitude of 5,280
feet/1,600 meters above sea level and lies where the Great Plains give way to
the Rocky Mountains. The city embraces its cowboy and mining past, but also
looks toward the future with a vibrant arts and performing arts scene, dozens
of great outdoor festivals, and distinct neighborhoods each offering a unique
experience. You'll find everything a cosmopolitan city has to offer including a
spectacular view of and easy access to the beautiful Rocky Mountains, which are
only 12 miles west of town.
For skiers and snowboarders, winter is the best time to visit Denver. Hoards of people fly into Denver International Airport each season on their way up to the ski capitals of Summit and Eagle counties, including Vail, Beaver Creek, Copper Mountain, Keystone, Loveland Basin, Arapahoe Basin, and Breckenridge, Winter Park; a little further away are Steamboat, and Aspen. There are also plenty of mountain trails for snow-shoers and cross-country skiers, which are generally free. Red Rocks Amphitheatre on the western edge of Denver is a gorgeous outdoor concert venue set in a red sandstone oasis. From Igor Stravinsky's North American debut of his 'Rite of Spring' at the park's opening in the '40s to Jethro Tull, and the Grateful Dead, Red Rocks' history is quirky and storied. It was also a stop on The Beatles famous British Invasion tour of America. No Orbitz change or cancel fees on Denver hotels Enjoy Denver hotel deals without penalties. My brother and I enjoyed our stay downtown Denver at the Hyatt Regency. We did brewery tours, rockies game, red rocks concert, shopping, etc. Our only complaint was the ride to and from Red Rocks. The hotel informed us that the fair to Red Rocks was $80. Turns out we got a cab on the way back from the concert and the cab driver informed us that the flat rate to and from Red Rocks is $47.

The room was quite nice with a big comfortable bed and lots of space. The front desk staff person seemed more interested in gossiping with a friend at the desk than providing much support to her customers.
The staff in the restaurant for breakfast however were superb and attentive. Maybe they should tend the front desk too?! :)

Great for business, Club Level is nice
-
Just Another Salesman
- Oct 11, 2012
Stayed there for 2 nights. Definitely an odd setup in that you have a long walk through the bowels and over to the tower, but very nice facility and the club level is nice. I was more attracted to the fact that you had a private business center in the club throughout the day and night if you didn't want to be locked up in the room. I'm sure it could fill up at busier times, but it was never half full during my stay. Breakfast was not extravagant but perfect for me as I eat light in the mornings. Plenty of fresh cut fruit and your normal choice of bagels, English muffins, and toast. No eggs, biscuits, and bacon but great coffee and fresh squeezed juices. Rooms on 21-22 are definitely smaller it seemed like, I was in a single king and it was perfect for me but wouldn't handle a family or whatever. Bathrooms are small. Since it's an older building the window dormers are not friendly to the skyline, but that's not that big of an issue for me. Overall I'd stay there again, it was my first business trip to Denver and many of the hotels I looked at I later found to be quite a ways off the beaten path. The Sheraton is curbside to the free buses that run you anywhere on the 16th street mall, and the only money I wasted was on the rental car that i paid $30 per day to sit in the parking garage, I might look into an airport shuttle next time, that'd save $260 on the trip. If you are there for business ask about the club level. I think by the time you factor in free breakfast, free Starbuck's Coffee, free wifi, and some other add-ons it's worth it to be up there.

I tend to like boutique hotels that offer modern conveniences, personal service and unique settings. The Oxford hits all the marks. It is a perfect blend of a historic hotel with modern conveniences and exceptional service. You are greeted at the door and provided help with your luggage. Coffee is conveniently available each morning on your floor. Any time I needed help from the front desk, I received it immediately. The atmosphere is very warm and comfortable. Free internet and other amenities simply add to an already good experience. I would definitely book there again.

Great Location, but expensive hotel. Was nice but not super clean as I would have expected. Very friendly staff, except for one girl. Spa is right next door! Very friendly at the spa, would definately recommened the spa to everyone! If you stay in the hotel you get 10% off spa services! The beds are very hard. My husband and I had a very hard time getting to sleep. Also you can hear everything from the street in your room. We were on the 3rd floor and still heard everything.

I was very impressed with the service and room. The only this i could possibly come up with as a negative is the shower was a step up shower. The bathroom flooded when I use the shower. The room was perfect and they had extras of those things that you always tend to forget when you travel.

The staff is eager to please. The Location is near the Convention Center and the 16th Street shopping mall and not too far from the gallery district. Lots of nice restaurants around.
Had a huge room with kitchen & living area.
The car concierge figured out how to allow me to attend a late meeting and still get to the airport via a very reliable limo service.
The Restaurant "Harry's" was just OK not exceptional.
I opted for the ecological saving of keeping my towels. I would have liked it if they did empty waste=basekets with that option.
I will definitely stay at the Magnolia again in Denver, I do not like the extra large hotels & chains.
I really enjoyed my visit to the Denver Art Museum.

In Denver on Business

Sleepy Business Traveler
- Nov 2, 2012
Loews location worked well for us. While in Denver, we were attending a four day conference. The downtown conference center was easily accessible via auto, and there were many amenities within walking distance of the Hotel. The Hotel was clean, the staff was professional and the view was lovely. Unfortunately, Saturday and Sunday nights were relatively sleepless due to an abundance of Broncos fans that occupied the hotel with us. However, security was fast to act once complaints were made and the last two nights were uneventful and quiet. The internet was sporadic, and an in room refrigerator would have made things easier. My impression is that this Hotel was not designed for the business traveler. With that being said, I would recommend this Hotel to anyone who travels to Denver for pleasure, or Broncos fans. Otherwise, you may want to wait until after football season. Again, kudos to the staff, they were terrific!

We have stayed at Loews Denver many times over the last 20 years and have always felt the hotel was very nice. However it has not changed much over that time and the decor and rooms are getting a little "tired" looking. It is still an excellent value and very good location for us, but is well past the need for an overall refurbishment and upgrade.

The hotel is average at best. The rooms are not especially attractive, the bed and pillows not especially comfy, and the TV has limited choice of channels. So my wife and I visited Denver for our honeymoon, and we could not have asked for a better hotel experience. The staff was beyond friendly, helpful, courteous and accommodating. I have personally stayed at some amazing boutique hotels, and this staff was far superior to any experience I have had at a nice hotel. In addition to the friendly staff, the spa treatments we experienced were some of the best we have had! I am a massage therapist so this is a very bold statement! I recommend staying at the Four Seasons Denver to anyone that wants a truly 5 star hotel experience!!!

Great hotel for business week, but watch out on weekends
-
TCBman
- Nov 27, 2012
My wife and I stayed here for over a week (spanning two weekends) in order to take care of some family-related business in the Denver area. The rooms were very clean, the staff was very courteous, and the overall stay was just great. I had booked this room in order to have a quiet place where we could focus in the evening after doing work during the days. The rooms were quiet and the internet was never spotty. During the week it worked out as planned. The rooms were quiet and there were few interruptions. The hotel's brunch was also very fast and of excellent quality, and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, once Friday and Saturday evening came around, the business atmosphere of the hotel completely changed. The first weekend we were there, there was a science fiction convention, so we had to walk past people having pretend sword fights dressed as Klingons. The lobby was full of people running around and my wife almost got run into by a guy carrying a bunch of plastic pipes. It was pretty chaotic. I also had to call the front desk at about 1 am to complain of noise in the adjacent room. After security did nothing, at three am I asked the people to quiet down myself, and they were very apologetic and did quiet down. But, I reiterate, it was three am. After Sunday, the hotel became quiet and peaceful again. But then the following weekend there was a massive Halloween party, apparently the biggest in Denver. Upon returning to the hotel, it was absolute chaos. We almost had to pay to park in the parking lot after returning from business during the day, because they had attendants collecting money from everyone. I pled my case and the guy let us in free of charge, fortunately. But it was disconcerting, given that my package included free parking. They should have a way to identify such guests. The noise that night was even worse, but to their credit, the front dest staff did warn us of this likelihood on Friday morning--and they also offered to put us up at another nearby hotel if we thought it might be too loud for us (we opted not to because we had an early morning flight and thought we could stand the noise). So bottom line: the hotel is very nice, with good service, polite staff, and lots of eating options nearby if you aren't interested in the great restaurant or bar.... the ambiance is quiet and classy during the week, but if you plan to go on a weekend, definitely check to see if they have any big events planned or else you might be disappointed with the noise.

The Brown is a fantastic historic hotel like none I've ever seen. The Churchill Bar is the best bar I've ever been in. Unfortunatly the Palace arms and the Tavern were sub par in terms of service. Though the staff was helpful they were down right rude by Sunday Morning. I'll go back to Denver but I'll stay somewhere else.

This hotel is a beautiful and well maintained hotel for being 120 years young. A very classy hotel. My only complaint is that our room was nerver made up before 4:00 and turn down service started at 5:00, just when we were returning to the hotel and getting ready for the evening we were bother two times by the maid service within 45 minutes.

My wife and I took a Christmas trip to Denver to get away and relax. The Residence Inn turned out to be a very nice place to stay. For the first couple of days we did not have a car and walked everywhere or took the bus. Lots of great restaurants very close by and the 16th Street Mall is a fantastic place to people watch. We would definately go back.
