Great location for skiing

This is a great hotel if you are heading to the slopes. After reading other reviews I was a prepared for the noise w/ear plugs. Yes, the walls are thin and people are just not curtious of others any longer! There were 4 places to eat within walking distance which was nice. Rooms were clean. Would stay again! Nice hot tub at the end of the ski day.

Nice staff and good clean room. The complimentary breakfast has a hot buffet. Usually scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage patties and potatoes. The cereals and oatmeal and bagels are also available. Good location between Squaw/Alpine and Northstar. Brew pub down the street and close to downtown Truckee. Would stay again. I'm a tough rater.

Expensive, small and out of the way. No elevator. Had to walk up two flights of stairs with overweight luggage. No coffee maker in the room as advertised. Cleaning staff was rude but the front desk was helpful. They did allow us to check in a little early, which was appreciated.

For Skiers and Boarders, schlepping your gear around is often a hassle. At this hotel as soon as you pull up they whisk your gear away for you to their Mountain Concierge and it's ready and waiting for you when you are ready to hit the mountain, no carrying anything, no lines, no hassle! Same with returns! Awesome!! The rooms are also gorgeous and loved the comfort of the beds and the in-room fireplace! I also was traveling with my dog, this property is pet-friendly and the staff were wonderful to both of us!!

From the moment we arrived we knew we made the right choice. Check-in personnel were great and the accommodations perfect. We had a studio condo with a gas fireplace that kept the place warm, cozy, and romantic. Fireplace stopped working at one point but one phone call had maintenance at the door in 15 minutes and a faulty thermostat replaced immediately...that's service! We would stay again.

The Holiday Inn Express in Truckee while relatively new and well kept is a bit off the beaten path and had a less than enthusiastic staff during our visit. The most annoying thing however was a strange antiseptic smell in the lobby. My wife thought we were in a hospital. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and have a ceiling fan so you don't have to listen to the noisy room cooling system all night. But what draws 'em in evidently is the continental breakfast...very busy every morning with the feature being their cinnamon rolls....you need to have at least a couple.

We stayed here with our 2 kids for a 2-night stay and for our needs this place was perfect. The small kitchen was well equipped and allowed us to make breakfast and prepare lunch. The place was overall clean and nicely located right on the shore of Donner lake. The beds were ok, the parents slept in the bed and the kids on the sofa bed.
