Everything was perfect except for check-in. Was told to come back at 2pm and we could get our room. Came back @ 4pm which was normal check-in and they kept telling us our room wasn't ready but everyone else was getting their's. After complaining, they assigned us to another room. Food, cocktails and room cleanliness was top of the line.

Overall, our stay was very pleasant. It was at times, difficult to speak to some of the help as my spanish is limited. This resulted in our room not being cleaned one day, when the help showed up a bit early and we simply asked if she could come back a little later. On another day, the beds were made and the bathroom ignored. Towels and TP were left on the TV. The sofa beds were extremely uncomfortable; but the staff quickly remedied the problem by providing roll-away beds.

When we arrived at the resort it was very nice. The manager was very nice and upgraged us to a suite. The room was very inviting and comfortable. The bed was to die for literally. I did not want to get out of it. Our stay there was very nice and will be staying there again on our next trip to south lake. A added bonus is they accept pets so next time the doggies will be joining us...

This was a great little place. Friendly staff and fabulous hot tub! My only complaint was the cleaner they used in the room had a very strong fake orange smell. I left both doors open trying to air it out and that didn't get rid of it. At least it was clean!

We came up for the night to play in the snow, We loved the location, two min. walk to stateline, havenly shops and resturants. Super friendly staff, was a quick trip but the room was good size, we have two boys. Clean and we will stay here again. You can't beat the price for the location.

The sweetest thing about the room is the fireplace set in the center, with honey colored woodwork. Artwork on the walls is not the standard hotel fare, but unique and lovely. The full glass wall doors leading to the lake gave us a view of pink-splashed moountains in the morning. Add to this helpful and pleasant staff, and you've got a winning combination.

This place was in a nice location. It's in walking distance to the shore of the Lake. It was a nice/suitable room for the price we paid. We had plenty of privacy & it was very quiet.

Nice ski crash pad walking distance to Heavenly Gondola

The decor is hip enough, the bed comfortable, and the overall experience was perfectly pleasant. The location is easily walkable, but not really in ski-boots, to the gondola, where there are lockers. There is some covered parking, which is a huge bonus when it is storming. The room had radiant heat, which is very comfortable, but takes a while to bring the temperature up. The cable TV options are slightly lacking, but they are probably identical to everything else in South Lake.

During our stay there was a leak from the up stairs room. The staff was quick to respond and put us into another room. The hotel was a short two blocks to the lake and minutes away from all the action. It would have been the perfect stay, if not for the leaky ceiling.

Great location. As I have always been told, it's location, location., location. The Forest Suites Resort was a great jumping off place for my family and our two day getaway to South Lake Tahoe. Withing walking distance is a movie Theater, Grocery Store, Hardware Store and Hiking Outfitter +++ many more.
The hotel helped arrange tickets for the Tahoe Queen (Paddle Wheel Boat on Lake Tahoe) and even called their free shuttle to pick us up.
We totally enjoyed the weekend and couldn't have been more pleased with the rate, room and the Wildlife ( a small Black Bear visited the Hotel Grounds as we were packing up! What an exciting event for our 6 year old!).
We'll stay here again!

The resort is in the process of remodeling or updating. The parking lot is not available for self parking. It is valet only! Plus the resort charges you $16 a day for the parking.

These accommodations were wonderful! So much so that we puchased a time share to enjoy future vacations with Diamond Resorts. The best part of this hotel was it's location....close to everything you need and right on the lake. The weather was also perfect. The staff was extremely friendly and the rooms were clean. Would have like room service more often to make my beds for me though !

Nice place for a ski vacation

This hotel is a nice place for a ski vacation. It's basically on the other side of the Heavenly California Base parking lot. Just a walking distance to the lifts and when needed you can take the free orange route bus to go to the gondolas. The hotel is ok, the rooms are kind of strange since the two small size rooms are attached with a large jacuzzi in the middle, but it's not a deal-breaker. Staff is really nice. Any concerns or questions are taken care of right away. Hotel provides a 24/7 valet parking which is another positive note in addition to all. We've stayed in 3 different hotels in Lake Tahoe and decided that will come here again next time. The price is affordable, location is perfect and accommodations are ok. So, totally acceptable scenario.

The quality of the room was beyond my expectations. It was very "CLEAN", it has the most awesome huge shower / jet tub, I had lots of closet space, and every room has a window for fresh air. I most definitely will stay there again.

Great Value But Wifi Iffy

I had a very solid experience. I was traveling on
business and stayed three nights. It was very quiet
and peaceful. (MIght be different in peak season) Everything was clean and worked. The sheets and towels were thin. The furniture, bed covers and curtains were old. A new paint job would brighten the room. The bed was comfortable. The fitness center consisted of a treadmill and a bench press and some dumbbells. My room was huge. It contained a big table with four chairs, a comfy armchair, and a kitchen area with a fridge, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. The soap and toiletries were organic. The location is great - you are mere blocks from casinos and the gondola and shopping and dining. Lake Tahoe and a big sand beach are only blocks away in the other direction. Hotel is several streets off the main drag which makes it quiet. The wifi in the room was really weak. Slow and intermittent. You can use the lobby computers and the wifi signal is excellent in the lobby. I didnt try the breakfast.

The staff was nice and the hotel was easy access to everything in South Lake Tahoe. The room was fine as far as being clean. My major gripes would be that the blanket looked like it was something that had been around since 1985. The bed was a little saggy but the box spring was stained on the sides. Looked to be blood or something brown. If you are going to have a box spring that looks like that maybe they should invest in some bed skirts. Also the towels were about as soft as sand paper.

This hotel is relatively dated. Fixtures, wall paper, and heating/ cooling units all look like they are probably the originals. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. They served breakfast, but it was just coffee, juice, mini muffins, and cereal. Overall, though, for being one of the cheapest places in the areas, I can't complain about anything.

After reading reviews of hotels in South Lake Tahoe I was skeptical to book anything until I came across reviews for this hotel. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. The room was clean with a comfortable bed, balcony with chairs, microwave and fridge. It wasn't near the busy area of S. Lake Tahoe but was close enough for a quick drive.

We visited this hotel in SLT for the first time and didn't know what to expect (as the reviews on Orbitz and other sites were mixed). The room was clean, bed was soft, had a full mini fridge and microwave in the room. Hotel is right across from the lake, but any beaches are down the road a bit. The pool area and 2 spas were really nice - spent some time both nights relaxing in them. The staff was pretty friendly and they have complimentary beach bikes for first come first serve use. We were really happy with the accommodations and hotel. They also have BBQ pits and picnic tables if you desire to cook up some of your own food. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Solid 3 star property.

Great but with some disappointment

Great place. Excellent location. Friendly staff. Great rooms. But the sheets were dirty with brown stains on the two nights we stayed. It was very disappointing and very disgusting. It spoiled the experience. Felt as if the hotel was pinching pennies by reusing old and dirty sheets.

We overall had a great experience at the Tahoe Lakeshore Lodge and Spa. When we checked in, we were given the wrong kind of room for what we had paid for, but after a couple of phone calls and some confusion, we were able to move to the correct room and it was smooth sailing from there. The lake view from the room was amazing, and our little boy loved running out on the sand. We stayed in the condo with the loft, and were very comfortable there. The rooms are on the older side, but clean. It would be nice if a log for the fireplace was provided automatically, but you can get one from the front desk or run over to the store which is walking distance. It was a quick drive to the mountain and nice to come back to a nice fire. The hot chocolate machine in the lobby area was a hit with our little boy and the pastries in the morning were good. We will definitely stay here again!

Our trip for the night was for my brother's wedding and our annivesary. We had stayed at Secrets several times in the past and did enjoy it, this time was much better because of [...]. She greeted us warmly & friendly. We had gotten there early and asked if we could check-in as we had time to spend before the wedding dinner, she accomodated us without a problem and plus she upgraded us with our choice of rooms.My husband and I chose Secrets because we have been there before and enjoyed the room. We were happily surprised with our service this trip.. It wasn't bad before, it was just much better this time. We also enjoy the fireplace heater. As a couple who heat thier house with a woodburning stove, I for one loved that we had a fireplace without the lugging of wood and keeping it going. It provided the perfect warmth for a night in Tahoe that was going for a last push of winter weather.My only issue, and even then is no issue, I loved the towels, they just could have been a tad larger to snuggle up into more. The bed & linens, no complaints at all, comfy, warm and soft.Thank you, [...] for making our visit such a pleasure! We will return for a visit!

Secrets Inn is a great place to stay for couples. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The rooms are newly upgraded and romantic. A little small but that added to the coziness. The room was clean and only a $5 taxi ride to the Casinos. The only hitch is DO NOT book your room through [...]. My sister and her boyfriend also booked a room for the same exact night but they booked it through Secrets Inn. Not only was their room cheaper in price but it was nicer and bigger. [...]

ok place to stay when booking last minut

I should say this was not the best of the hotels I have stayed in. But being a last minute planned trip the rates were already high and we had to settle for this days inn. The rooms were ok. Definitely not worth the 110 $ that I paid. If it was 70$ may be it would have been good. In any case don't have much to complain as we only had to stay for a night.

The hotel was simple and well cared-for. The room was clean and all the amenities worked as expected, but were of basic quality. The walls were somewhat thin, but there was little road noise and despite 1.5 ft of snow and sub-freezing temperatures the hot tub was open and ready for use. The front desk service was quick and attentive, and the free wireless allowed us to watch streaming Netflix in our room!

Nice clean hotel. Good for passing through. A little small if you have kids but the tv and fridge are nice to have. They also provided us with a fan for the room.

The hotel ius great, the guest service is insuperable, they gav e us our rooma s son as we arrived a t 11 in the morning, it was a standdar room with a full kitchen and a huge terrace overlooking the gondola.
Location is great for Heavenly skiers. Gondola just 10 steps away.

This was a great palce to stay in South Lake Tahoe - the staff was excellent and very helpful, always willing to answer a question or give some suggestions on places to go and things to do. This is really the best place to stay if you want everything available to you in the lake Tahoe area. Wish we could have stayed longer

Not bad for the price

The bed was very comfortable with soft fluffy pillows. The bathroom was small though, and the shower water was unsteady hot/cold and difficult to adjust. Overall, the unit was adequate and the staff was super. It was in a good location within 10min drive to all the main attractions.

It was a great place to stay for the money and location. Was happy I paid just as much for a hotel and had a kitchen. Very short walk to Beach and the pool. I will stay there again. However, it was the very end of August when everyone was off vacation, so not sure if why it was so quiet. Oy yeah one thing, no call out service or wifi on my personal phone

Great multi day hotel

Our room was a suite with a kitchenette, bedroom and a hide a bed in the liveing room. Included a complete set of dishes, glasses and silverware. There is a mini fridge and micro wave and coffee maker. They even had a complimentary package of microwave popcorn. Several gas grills were available around the pool. Nice quiet neighborhood, but still walking distance to the casinos. This is a great place for a family on a vacation when you did not want to eat out every meal. They also offered an in room meal service. The room is not air conditioned, but with Tahoe weather you seldom need it and did have a portable fan in the room. They also had bath robes hanging in the closet. Nice place, we will be back.

Property great! Hospitality BETTER!

Met up with a friend from another city and found this place on line. JACKPOT! We picked the place primarily for the location (2 blocks from the lake with access to a private beach, 2 blocks the other way to Heavenly Village, and a few more to the casinos). Small, very recently remodeled property. The fixtures, etc. were nice, the beds/bedding/towels were great, but what wowed me was the hospitality of the staff. They were willing to go above and beyond to make sure that we, as their guests, were happy. Their continental breakfast was more than just your standard box of pastries or a bunch of bagels and a toaster. It was simple, but unique. Each morning, there was a crock pot of oatmeal and a different fresh fruit (one day was blueberries, the next was raspberries). There was also yogurt and a nutbread. And of course some nice coffee. They're also in the process of adding some new summertime amenities like loaner bicycles and kayaks. The amenity is so new, all the bikes weren't put together yet when we stayed.

This was my first trip to Lake Tahoe and met up with a friend from another city. Found this place through an on-line search and couldn't have been happier. Newly remodeled rooms (Great shower and beds). Great, simple continental breakfast (not just a few boxes of donuts). Super location (2 blocks to the water with access to a private beach) 2 blocks the other way to Heavenly Village. Just a few more to the casinos. What blew me away was the hospitality of the staff. It's a small property (about 24 rooms I think) so it has a homey feel. We showed up in town with no concrete plans and the staff was more than happy to point us in the right direction. A new amenity they've just added for the summer season is loaner kayaks and bicycles. If I ever make it back to Tahoe, I'll definitely stay here again.
