The hotel was great and the location was perfect. Hotel has a fantastic pool and spa overlooking the ocean. Hotel has its own access to the beach. Rooms were beautiful with the most amazing views of the ocean, wharf, and boardwalk. Simply amazing. Restuarant onsite was good..a little pricey for the quality but a nice environment. The only draw back was the room location. We had room (327) which was nice but right accross from the ice machine and laundry room. We intended to sleep in being that we had no children with us but that was not an option being right next to the ice machine and laundry room. Hotel was great just wish they would have taken our request for a great anniversery room a little more to heart in regards to our room location.

I had always wanted to stay at the Dream Inn and it was as great as I had imagined. The ocean view from the room is the best view in Santa Cruz. The staff was polite and helpful. The accommodations modern and spartan. I only wish there was a bathtub, but I figured that was to save water. I would have given it five stars if it weren't so expensive. But definitely worth it for one night.

Good clean rooms with nice staff and good selection for breakfast. If you have a late event, be prepared to find street parking as the gagare spaces are limited. Easy to find and reasonable distance to beach and downtown.

We were not too familiar with other hotels in the area, so we thought it would be safe to stay at a Best Western. It was very easy to find.After check-in we were sent to a room where housekeeping was cleaning the carpet, but it was quickly resolved when they placed us in a different room. Our room was located near the elevator, but it was actually very quiet. Keep in mind that we stayed during the weekday.The room was clean and so was the rest of the hotel. They had a continental breakfast that slightly changed each day with a few of the basics. They have a parking garage which was convenient and the hotel was not located very far from the beach boardwalk. [...] I guess I would recommend it because the hotel was clean and affordable, given the price comparison to other hotels in the area.

This place was a disappointment. The room itself was average, but the motel does not serve breakfast until 8 am. No coffee before then, either.
No coffee in the room because as the on-duty manager said previous customers spilled coffee on the rug. We had a good breakfast at a restaurant on the wharf but, of course, we had to pay for it.
Parking was also somewhat awkward here

People at desk were friendly helpful. Room was ok beds were vey stiff. Morning breakfast was very nicely laid out with bagels and all sorts off baked goodies. There seemed to be an effort to make Internet available to guests but I could not get it to work on my iPhone. I just used my non-wifi connection and it was fine. The room had a fridge, microwave, iron, dish tv with all sorts of channels. The place was just across from the boardwalk arcade. A new pizza place open there and it was very god.
Overall this was a perfect place to rest!

Our family stayed here two years ago when we helped move my son into the UCSC dorms and so when we were getting ready to move him into his new condo this was my first choice. The location is convenient and lovely. Having an onsite restaurant that is open past 10 PM is great (everything shuts down at about 10 or earlier!). My son and his roommates were happy with their room and the space they had. We had a little trouble with the bathroom sink, but the staff came quickly (and quietly) to fix the issue. We will definitely come back!

my stay at the hilton was every good. The room was every clean. the staff was every nice all the time i was walking out of the hotel and then when i want back to my room the staff would alway told if i need something. i would stay at the helton again...

Everything was great. The staff were friendly & helpful, the rooms in excellent condition, and the morning breakfast was ample with plenty of choices. It's location near the major highways is a plus for those driving and wanting access to the wider Santa Cruz area.

The hotel was clean, with a very cold room, and central. But make no mistake, for the price, the time (new years), it was a positive experience: the room, after we got the small heater going, warmed up nicely; the grounds, after we settled in, are actually nice with some wonderful trees that shield the property and, in the summer, I'm sure gives the place some great shade. Bottom line: for about $60.00 a night, in Santa Cruz, New Years Eve, couldn't have done any better! If you are looking for style and glamor, go ahead and find another place for $30 or $40 a night more!! Good experience overall, especially if you have a wife like mine :-)

Upon arrival all looked great, our room was clean and was located in a section of the hotel that had a nice little court yard. And we thought "great". Well, that was all that was good about our stay at this hotel. First I was disappointed that it was not closer to the beach. Then that evening we settled in to watch tv. OMG the bed pillows were tiny and it was impossible to lean back comfortably to watch TV. Then in the morning about 9am a construction project began on the roof, but at times it sounded like they were going to come right through our bathroom wall. so much for "do not disturb". I am thinking it would have been commen sense to wait until after check out time to start banging on walls. We enjoyed our time in santa cruz regardless. But we did look around for ideas of where to stay that may be better for our next trip

exellent spot to get away from the mainstream, yet it was close enough to it when desired. the grounds and views were breathtaking and the service was always with a smile. only wished I had a frig in my room other than that it was a great get away.

This hotel was just what we expected, nothing fancy and just an average hotel room. The bad was that the room didn't have much natural sun light, also when we got to the parking lot there was a horrible sewer like smell that didn't go away. They should do an upgrade on their T.V's which was old and the colors went and came back, and they didn't have as many channels as other hotels. The good thing is that we had a good night sleep, not too noisy and the bed was comfortable. It was a couple of blocks away from downtown santa cruz and boardwalk.

Room was clean for the most part, but maintenence wasn't kept up on it. The bathroom didn't even have a switch to turn it from the faucet to the shower head and the room smelled like smoke even though it was a non smoking room.

we wanted to be near the boardwalk but not spend a lot on a motel; 5 minute walk, free parking and they let us park 3 hours prior to check in, VERY polite and friendly staff; clean and quiet room (Sunday night tho); beds a little stiff; quick mart next block; not much walkable around after hours but fine to drive; next morning ate at Santa Cruz Diner AWESOME - 10 minutes away; worth the $ we saved!

Other people that stayed at the motel were a bar crowd, which meant that about 2am it started to get pretty noisy. At one point the cops came to deal with some of the other motel guests. Our room was next to the stairs, which increased the noise level.
The walls were paper thin so we could easily hear other conversations in other rooms, as well as other late night antics.
Also the room wasn't very clean, the bathroom had mold, and the room smelled like cigarettes even though we had requested a non-smoking room.
The location was good, near the boardwalk, and the people that worked at the motel were friendly, but given the lack of cleanliness and the late night antics, I wouldn't stay here again, nor recommend it to others.

The room is decent for the price, in comparison to what you can get in Santa Cruz. Hotel staff is not so friendly. The breakfast was fair. Overall I rate this hotel a 3.

Great location - Very Clean - Helpful Staff

Overall this place was very good. The check-in process was quick and efficient. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and we found they will go out of their way to help guests.
The room was very clean, and we were impressed with several things in the room. For example: an easy-clean remote/phone, a quality make-up remover, the usual amenities, etc. The decor/furniture in the room was also modern and appealing. Also, the bed was very comfortable.
Breakfast was good - cereal/toast/english muffins/pastries/fruit/OJ/AJ/Coffee. Basically, a continental breakfast.
There are 2 Super 8's on this street, pretty much across from each other. Make sure you book the correct one (Super 8 East). It's on the left side of the street (the street is one-way). Location is great, a few minutes to the beach, a few minutes to downtown.

We had a 2 room suite. The layout was poor. The TV in one room and the frig & microwave in the back room. The rooms were clean, though, and bug free. I am a tea drinker and there was no hot water available but there was tea bags.....?? The breakfast choices were slim. The granola bars are great. The location is convenient. Bring a scate board if you have one.

The room was pretty small as well as the bathroom. The colors were pink with a pea green tub but that wasn't a big deal. The problem was that the bathroom door opened inward and would get stuck on the toilet because there wasn't enough space. Not the worst hotel to stay in but there is room for improvement. The mini-cinnamon rolls at the continental breakfast were delicious.

The hotel staff were very nice. Early checkin was afforded. Room was small but very clean and ammenties were provided. The bed however was extremely uncomfortable as I could feel the springs coming through.

The hotel was a great value for the price! The staff was extremely friendly and it is a couple block from the beach. The hotel is also very close to the restaurants and shops on Pacific Avenue.

We decided last minute to head down to S.C. and found a GREAT deal for this hotel. It is nothing special (but really how many of them are?). However, the location was excellent (Beach Hill), and the price was fantastic. I would definately go back to them for a quick night or two.

Stayed for 2 nights to attend a wedding. The location was convenient, but the room was nothing to write home about. We stayed in a smoking room and it was obvious with burn holes in the carpet and the aroma of stale cigarettes. It was challenging to get an iron from the front desk. On day 2 we got locked out, our room key stopped working and we had to have the front desk reset it. probably won't stay there again.
