I was very please with our stay at the Best Western. Drove 270 for a concert. Great location, great city! I would love to be back at this hotel. Only draw back I would say is the breakfast. It was nice it was free, but instead of hard boiled eggs, how about some kind of meat, and hot eggs. Other than that, very pleased.

Very nice daytime/afternoon staff. Fitness center was adequate with a treadmill and elliptical with Bowflex and another weight machine. Room was comfortable and well maintained. Happy hour in the evening is a nice touch. Right across from restaurants and shopping center so very convenient as well.

The hotel was centrally located to points of interest near Morro Bay and Pismo beach. The rooms were clean but the mattress was extremely hard & uncomfortable. The room was not properly configured for easy TV viewing . Overall satisfactory standards.

The hotel room was clean and the heater worked fine. However, at peak shower time (8:00 am to 10:00 am) there was no hot water. I quess the water heater is a shared type and it was empty. After waiting for about a half hour I just took a cool shower. Thank goodness for the working room heater.

Stayed here for visit to Cal Poly Career Fair.
Great location, close to the campus and an easy walk to downtown.
The room was a great size for the price.
They have free beer, wine and coctails until 7pm. I arrived at 7:20pm but the receptionist was still kind enough to let me chose a beer out of their gift shop.
I'll stay here next time, without question.

Fantastic staff. Everyone is friendly and professional. You have great drinks and breakfast included. A poolside meal in the evening is perfect with the kids. Just a short walk and your in the heart of San Luis Obispo. We loved it.

We pre-booked for Cal Poly open house weekend which had every room in SLO booked. Got in at at 1a.m. three parking spaces left and six people yet to arrive. Desk clerk was pleasant. Room basic, clean and comfortable. Quiet until about six a.m. when guests too stupid to consider others sleeping in til 7:30 started to leave, calling to parking lot from rooms, etc.

Old,sagging spring bed, needs replacing

This place was not cleaned well. Dust in corners and on tables, Cloth chairs dirty and a toy left by a previous occupant. The bed was the worst. Old spiring mattress that sagged. The bed must have been over 15+ years old. We visited our child at Cal Poly and all we did at Motel was "try to sleep". Mattress was so uncomfortable. Everything else we could deal with. We knew this place would not have any "extras" but we did expect a decent mattress. If all you want to do is save money, this is your place. If you want anything else, keep looking.

Simple rooms with a tile shower and a stand-alone room fan, kinda smelled in the room but we got used to it quickly. Check in said 1pm, but room wasn't ready, we had to come back at 2. It is kinda quaint, and they had a basketball hoop with 5 balls that the kids loved, plus a nice porch swing.

The hotel was nothing to write home about! Nothing fancy! It served it's purpose for us as we prepared to move our daughter into Cal Poly. We arrived the night before move-in and checked out early. Room and bed... OK. Bathroom could be spruced up with a coat of paint and we had no screen on the bathroom window.
The bathroom door had a hole in it also.

I booked this motel because it is close to Cal Poly campus. It turns out the motel is located behind the campus and there is no entrance on this side. We drove about 10 minutes to the campus entrance which is not too bad, but I think it is misleading on its web advertisement. The motel is at the corner of two busy streets and a highway is just behind it. It is very noisy. I think this motel is over price for what it offers.

We actually stayed in this hotel because we just needed a place to stay (not looking for anything fancy).... hence that is exactly what we got. The bathroom was really small and you could hear the noise from people on the outside.

The hotel was fine, relatively comfortable. The bathroom had a window in it, and the material that covers the glass to make it so you can't see through the window had been torn off, so I had to cover the window with a towel so I could take a shower. Also, when we got there, there was NO parking anywhere. We had to unload our bags and take them upstairs and then my boyfriend had to go park on the street, which I thought was annoying.

Our stay was comfortable. I wish that more info on the size of the standard room was given, it was small. I would have taken a suite with tub. The price was high for the size of the room w/shower.
Location and staff were all very nice and helpful. I would not stay in the standard room again.

My husband and I planned a little getaway to San Luis Obispo for a 4 day weekend. It is such a fun little town and if you haven't come before you must make it a place to visit even if it is just for the food. We also did a day trip up to San Francisco and ate breakfast at Mama's(A MUST) and an early dinner at Gott's.
The Apple farm was a great hotel and in a perfect location. My one complaint is that upon checking in we were given a coupon for a free continental breakfast every morning in the restaurant. The cookies in the evening were so yummy that we decide to get the breakfast on Sunday. We made the mistake of putting the coupon out on our table where the waiter saw it. He didn't even come to say hello to us for 15 minutes. He finally did come over and said he would be back. Six minutes later he came to get our choice of muffin, scone & coffee or tea. We didn't get our food items for another 20 mins!!(While the other tables aroung us were getting taken care of in a timely fashion) My husband wanted to just leave, but we had already invested 45 mins there. The pecan pumpkin muffin was delicious, but I would never take up their offer again. **If you do decide to use it just don't put the coupon out where the waiter can see it.

Friendly helpful staff, but not fluent in English. Upstairs room had high open beamed ceiling, and cross ventilation. I would not trust the swimming pool for a swim, the general exterior was a little worn,
but a good value for the money, and located next to all the big franchise motels.

The location of the hotel was great, very close to downtown, though a bit of a walk if not driving. I had a large, clean, motel, though it did smell a bit odd. Would expect some since it's an older motel. Had new double pane vinyl windows that help cut out the traffic and people noise. What you would expect for the price. Really nice if you do not plan on hanging out for too long.

We stayed here for 1 night while traveling from San Francisco to Los Angeles. The room was clean. It was one of the more reasonably priced rooms in the area. Other than that, I'm afraid that there is nothing special about this room or this property.

The hotel looked great on the outside and the owner/operators were friendly and helpful. The hotel room was tiny and run down it had a fresh coat of paint and was clean but the shower was tiny (I am 5'2") the towel bar was coming out of the wall and the heater was a portable sitting on the table. I don't know that I would rate this hotel with 3 stars as advertised.

I lived in SLO for years and probably drove by this place hundreds of times. From the exterior, it looks like a quaint, little inn where the owners really took the time and energy to make beautiful. The paint job is extremely well-done and probably repainted every two years. The landscape is equally as beautiful with a lot of obvious care taken into each planter bed.
The rooms are the complete opposite of the exterior. The furniture is extremely old and cheesy. The laminate on the dresser was bubbling and beginning to peel off, exposing the particle board under it. The comforter on the bed was probably over 50 years old and had some stains. The closet was inside the bathroom. The shower head would only point in one direction and the water temperature fluctuated every ten seconds from burning hot to ice cold. To top it all off, the towels were the equivalent to sandpaper. It actually hurt to dry off.
If you can, stay at another place.

The hotel worked because we needed to stay for one night and it neeeded to be inexpensive. We wanted to stay close to Laguna Park because there was a race there the next morning. The location was ideal, the room was alright.

Price was budget friendly, and location was easy to find. Rooms were small, but had all of the necessities. No pool and limited space inside the room. Bed/linens fairly comfortable; had to ask for extra towels. Needs more shelving or storage in bathroom. Toilet was noisy, but stopped after bowl filled with water.

Walked to downtown SLO for dinner and late shopping. Not far from Pismo! The only thing missing was a pool. One bad experience was that the room aboves water leaked into the bathroom light fixture and it took awhile for the person to come and check it but all in all the room was fine. Would recommend updating the cealings.

We only stayed one night but enjoyed it greatly. Room was clean but smelled like old furniture/antiques to be expected. Didn't even notice the smell the second time we entered. Very beautiful room and romantic. We were in the Marguerite room blue and yellow decor. Only complaint was that in the morning around 8am I kept hearing doors slam and banging noises. Turns out it was the maids! Hard to sleep in with them slamming doors every 15 minutes. I thought about getting up and asking them to stop but was too lazy and once woken I can't get back to sleep anyway. My guess is that they just didn't realize how loud and startling it was. I would still stay again and plan to.

Was very nice, the stairs getting up to the room were not fun, but the room was unreal. We were on the third floor so we had to go up two sets of stairs with bags, and when it had rained, so was a bit tricky. The pool and spa was wonderful! Food was high priced, but good. On a scale of 1 to 10- I would give them an 8. The place is not cheep so if you don't want to spend a lot of money find somewhere else to go. But if you want fun and unusual this is the place. Very PINK!!!

on the road to LA from San Francisco.
Very easy to find, rooms are ok, not first class but ok.
Very very simple breakfast but at least a something to eat and drink

We relaxed in the room. The bath tub in the room was amaging. We could relax in the bath tub in beautiful environment. We could see the stars in the sky in the night time and see the wood and hear the birds in day time. We could refresh.

The room door doesn't fit the space made for it, light from outside showed all the way around the door. The bed was as hard as the floor.

This was our last night of a 3-week road trip, and it was just a stop-over on our way home. The motel was excellent for a Motel 6. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. Every Motel 6 we stayed in gave us a senior discount [...]. In general, Motel 6 offers the fewest amenities of several other brands we tried on this trip in the same price range:one rather small pillow per person, no shampoo or hair dryer, only one bedside table on one side of a queen bed, no complimentary breakfast, no free wifi. But we would stay at this one again if we needed to stay overnight in the area.

We had an annual truck club show. We budget did not allow us to stay at the functions hotel. The only thing I thought was odd is that they did not have an iron or blow dryer in the room. Most hotels have them. I guess we picked the wrong hote.

This is a good budget Motel minutes from the main attractions in San Luis Obispo. If you plan on being out in the town and not in the Motel for a good portion of your time, then this is the Motel for you!
